About the property

One Bed Room & One Full Bathroom, new laundry room

Feeling romantic? Or simple want to relax and enjoy the tranquility and natural surprises of the ancient Smoky Mountains? We call it QQ...Quite Quality! Then choose our new Buffalo Creek Bridge Cottage as the center of your activities...at affordable rates. Don't Overpay to Get Away!

The rustic, cedar-sided Bridge Cottage is tucked under the trees at 2,600 feet elevation on our private 40-acre mountain ridge. An elfin stream runs by it, warbling merrily as it falls into a crystal pool and flows under an arched stone footbridge. From the bridge--or comfortably seated on the cottage's porch--enjoy a seasonal sampling of native wild flowers in bloom. Rhodendom and our special patch of rare Pink Lady Slippers are among the many delights. Relax on a brook side bench under flowering window boxes, immersed in the beauty and tranquility of a woodland wonderland.

You'll appreciate the casual charm of the cottage's interior with tongue-in-groove cedar walls and ceiling, rough-cut cedar beams, and hickory hardwood flooring throughout. You'll watch HD satellite TV to keep you up-to-date on the outside world.

The living room area includes a small but fully-equipped kitchen with eating area. Eat, write, or use the free high-speed Internet connection in the broad passageway to the bedroom/sitting room.

This cottage, indeed, is the most intimate environment of all our accommodations. English country-cottage style decor, luxurious bed with pillow-top Beauty Rest mattress, bench at foot of the bed facing a stone wood-burning fireplace, comfy reading corner, huge walk-in closet. For an encore? A spacious walk-in tiled shower-steam room with wall seating. Plush towels too! Many guest have commented 'best, most powerful shower anywhere'

Come to THE POINTE

It's only a two-minute stroll to possibly the most beautiful private picnic/cookout/overlook area in the Smokies! The Pointe was carved out of a ridge and developed as a special 'thank you' to our guest and your additional pleasure. Prepare foods your way on the grill or over the stone firepit. Amenities include covered grilling deck with outdoor sink and counter top, bathroom, tables, a swing for two, hammock and Adirondack chairs. The central view from The Pointe is Clingman's Dome, coming within 42 feet of being the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Nature provides the views, trees and wild flowers, the wild turkeys, hawks, resident owl, and a variety of songbirds...we provide the rest. Please be our 'guest' and enjoy our best! You can reserve The Pointe for private use.

Cozy and romantic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Buffalo Creek Bridge Cottage. It was peaceful, comfortable and true to its VRBO description. We cooked using the Weber grill on the porch every night and strolled across the street to the Pointe for some impressive mountain views. It was an ideal place to come home to after a day of hiking in the Smokies. Grocery store and quaint downtown Bryson City are 5 to 10 min drive down hill. Some other reviewers have noted the steep road leading up to the cottages; it is indeed steep, but our economy rental car managed just fine. :)

Great location and views

  • 5 of 5

Cute cabin with everything you need including a washer and dryer. I picked this cabin and location completely off the pictures of the cabin on VRBO. Cabin looked just like the pictures, water was even running under the bridge. Bryson City was a neat little town with several cute shops and antiques stores. We spent a whole day just exploring the town going through the many shops. Highly recommend The Great Smokey Winery for wood fired pizza, local wines and beers. We went there on the our first night (Saturday) and found it to be busy but not too busy with live entertainment. All was great!!! Also recommend The Filling Station Deli Shop. Great sandwiches and was reasonably priced. The Point right across the road from the cabin had great views of the mountains and was a quite place to take our morning coffee. Our favorite thing about the cabin was the steam shower. Plenty of room for two!!!! Internet was not working in the cabin when we arrived but Beau offered an empty cabin for us to use the internet there until our cabin's internet was fixed on Monday. Thanks for a great stay Beau! We are already talking about coming back next year.

Peaceful and enjoyable stay

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was as described. Location was peaceful and adequate for our stay. The location was good as we explored much of the smokey mountains, Gatlinburg, and Maggie Valley area. I would recommend this place to others.

Cool cabin, perfectly situated!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to Buffalo Creek Bridge Cottage on July 4th and we were pleasantly surprised that the Bryson City fireworks were shot off right in front of The Pointe! We had the Pointe all to ourselves, so it was a great way to start off our stay. The cabin was perfect for what we were looking for, although it did lack a couple of amenities (hair dryer for wife, a good cook pan, and dish towels). We never met Beau but he was easily reachable via text message and promptly responded to questions and requests. Everything was close yet you still felt like you were in the woods. We had a great time!

I know would want feedback as to how I could improve a rental, so here you go Beau:

Get silverware into a drawer or something cleaner then the basket. The paper towel in there looked a little dated :).

Think of the ladies, store a hair dryer.

That little frying pan could cook an egg at a time, perhaps an upgrade on the cookware?

Dish towels would have been good.

As you can see, just little things, I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a romantic getaway!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your valuable comments. First of all, very happy that you enjoyed your visit and the 50 yard line tickets at the Pointe for the 4th July fireworks. I'm replacing/adding the items you mentioned that needed attention. We keep hairdryer in all Cabins but someone must have packed the one at the Bridge Cottage by mistake. Again, appreciate you taking the time to give us your review. Please come again. Beau

Charming, convenient, and affordable.

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Bridge Cottage was a great experience. The cabin is tucked into a beautiful thicket of trees and bushes and bordered by a bubbling creek. The porch is very relaxing. Inside, all the essentials are covered. The bed is extremely comfortable. The property is located just outside of town and convenient to everything. All for a reasonable price.
