About Debbie Buchanan
Hello! We are Donnie & Debbie Buchanan. Raised and graduated from high school in the Quad City, Illinois area. Our lives took us to opposite sides of the United States, Florida & California to start our journey. I had finally moved back to the Heartland living in my dream home in the country for 10 years. When our mutual friends thought that our paths should cross again after 32 yrs. Well they were right! We recently celebrated our 4th anniversary. My husband takes great joy in letting everyone know that in two small words he became a husband, step-dad, and grandpa aka Paka! After I married the confirmed bachelor of 56yrs we called home in Tampa, Florida for 3 yrs. My husband is a Graphic Designer working for 19yrs at Moffitt Cancer Research Center. It was easy for me to take my skills as a Social Worker in Nursing Homes to Florida. We had always planned to move back to southern Iowa. 2017 was the perfect time to make that happen. We love to travel! The opportunity for us to purchase our vacation rental in the beautiful Dutch community of Pella, Iowa was perfect. Our Daughter and family live in Pella. What a Great way to spend more time with them. So, here we are ready and excited to have you stay with us. We look forward to welcoming, you, your friends, and loved ones! It is our hope that you will find all the comforts of home as you relax and vacation in and around Pella, Red Rock Lake, Knoxville, Newton, and the surrounding areas.

Why Debbie Buchanan chose Pella
Donnie and I enjoy traveling. We have spent our vacations in homes across the United States and Europe. We have taken being a Vacation Home Owner very seriously. We want you to enjoy your stay with us. Therefore we have taken all the little extras we have enjoyed in our stays and made them a part of your stay with us. We enjoy being pampered. So pampering you with little unexpected items in our home for your stay is something we enjoy. At the end of the day you can come back to the comforts of home. If you want to cook you have a complete kitchen for making the simplest to whatever you would like to create. There is a barbeque outside weather permitting. Large Screen TV, Books, Games, and Movie selection for your use. We have provided 3 different mattresses for sleeping comfort. We feel that you will find all of the amenities of home without the hassle of packing!
What makes this House unique
Why Pella? Pella is a beautifully kept community right here in the Heartland of Iowa. Well known for it's strong Dutch Heritage and the annual Tulip Festival held in May. Close to Red Rock Lake and Dam, as well as the Knoxville Raceway. You want to get away from the hustle and bustle of home. Here is a relaxing, quiet, and beautiful community. Sometimes, we just need to get away. After a day of strolling the shops, eating Pella Pastries, or Pella Bologna you can come back to the comforts of home. There are always things to do, places to visit and festivities throughout the Summer within Pella and the surrounding area. Fall and Winter will lend it's own beauty to Pella. There is nothing like stepping back in time to the memories that old town squares offer you throughout the holidays. Shopping in Pella is refreshing and you are sure to find a few unique gifts. If you like quilting a stop by the Quilted Windmill is definitely on your list of to dos!

I’d say this house has all the comforts of home, but it probably has more comfort than my own home! Every toiletry we needed was provided. Simple breakfast, coffee/creamer, condiments, and freshly baked goods from Jaarsma were laid out for us. Had I known there would be a two pack and plays and a child size cat provided in addition to a ton of toys, I would only have packed half the stuff I did. This was by far the most child friendly house I have ever rented. I have had many experiences with VRBO, and I can say with confidence, this was the best. We were there for tulip time, and everything was within walking distance. In fact, sometimes when we stay in a hotel outside the city limits, we end up parking and walking farther than we did this residence! Everything is brand new and decorated. Debbie is extremely responsive and looks just like Meryl Streep, so you’ll feel like you already know her :)
I love it here. Everything you might need is provided
I have been renting this home for about 6 weeks. It is so comfortable and decorated to be like home.
All the furniture is so comfortable. My car is even protected in a carport. Debbie is a great person to work with, I have truly loved staying here while being here in Pella.
It has been a pleasure to provide you with a Home Away from Home!
We had 6 stay in the home and it was so comfortable. Debbie was accommodating and the house was beautifully remodeled. Kitchen was well stocked and so many extras to make us feel right at home!! Will defiantly book again!!

Debbie was great to work with. you could tell she worked very hard on making as if we were at home. Everything we needed was there for us. The house is walking distance to a park, a grocery store, and downtown. We will definitely be back next year.

Enjoy lunch & tours at Tassel Ridge Winery just 15 minutes east of Pella.
