Calling all anglers! ‘Eagles Lodge,’ ‘Bear Cabin’ and ‘Burl Lodge’ fishing retreat property is loaded to the max with character and a reminder of the main reason you're visiting the area - to experience the great Alaskan wilderness!
Across 3 separate structures with ample living space and a variety of sleeping configurations to accommodate up to 20, there's plenty of room for everyone in your group to spread out and have their own bed for a good night's sleep.
The Eagles Lodge is a log home with large bow, front picture windows and a hand-carved bear door that looks directly onto the large, open deck nestled next to the river. You won't miss any activity taking place on the Kenai, even while lounging on the large leather couches in the great room.
The fully equipped, gourmet kitchen is open, bright, and provides plenty of storage for you to stock up on everything necessary to make hearty meals for the group. Thanks to the counter-height bar seating, you can all gather around together to help prepare the catch of the day or simply enjoy each other's company while you sip your favorite beverages and plan out your days and relive your experiences here.
In your downtime, unwind in ‘Eagles Lodge’s’ great room with plush leather seating for 6 to 7 people and plenty of space to gather together to watch TV on the large flat-screen cable TV. Situated in between the living area and kitchen is a charming dining area, enhanced by a beautiful gas fireplace stove in the corner.
When bedtime rolls around, retreat to one of the inviting bedrooms. There is 1 bedroom on the main level with its own bathroom in ‘Eagles Lodge,’ and just up the floating stairs you’ll find an entirely separate, spacious master suite with 2 twin beds and its own bathroom, desk, and sitting area. For more seclusion, a separate cabin 'The Bear' can be found behind the Eagles Lodge and has 2 twin bunk beds. It also has its own separate heat and sitting area.
While one part of the group is relaxing in one cabin, the other part of the group can be unwinding in ‘Burl Lodge’s’ impressive great room, which boasts cathedral ceilings, exposed wood beams and unique burl tree accents. This space combines a quaint dining space, 4-person bar, and even offers 2 twin-sized beds for additional accommodations. You’ll also find 2 separate seating areas with plush couches and armchairs - one of which is gathered around the flat-screen cable TV, while the other is encircling the wood-burning fireplace.
Downstairs next to the garage, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, several large freezers and indoor fish processing kitchen to make preparing your catch of the day effortless! You’ll also find various fitness equipment here, so you’ll never have to miss a workout while on vacation!
Just off the great room are 2 bright bedrooms, each offering 2 twin-over-twin bunk beds to easily accommodate all your travel companions!
The highlight of the property is the large outdoor decks with a floating dock where you can cast your line straight from the dock while you enjoy the mighty Kenai River. With plenty of outdoor seating, a gas grill, fish cleaning station and a fire pit, you and your group can plan to spend a good deal of your vacation enjoying the outdoors, just steps from the lodge!
Soldotna is a charming town, so if you have the chance to get away for a day there's lots to do with restaurants, shopping spots, and some great breweries. There's even a nearby winery and berry farm you can visit! Another popular attraction is the Kenai Wildlife Refuge, where guides will take you on an informative tour of the wildlife in the area and tell you all about the area’s history.
Don’t forget your fishing poles and hiking boots! Aside from fishing and boating at the cabin, you can also enjoy nearby guided river fishing and deep sea fishing, charter a floatplane, embark on nature and glacier hikes, go kayaking, golfing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more.
During the right time of year, you can also plan on a trip to view the northern lights which are simply spectacular.
Finally, if you have time, make a trip out to Kenai for some dynamite photo opportunities as well as other charming small towns along the coast. Alaska's beauty will absolutely sweep you away.
The Kenai River area promises to be one of the most peaceful places you will ever visit. It's a natural oasis where the lovely Alaskan wilderness welcomes you and your loved ones with open arms!
