About the property

Welcome to this historic circa 1773 home, located in the Monadnock Mountain Region of New Hampshire. Exceptional in every way, this pre-revolutionary war home was featured in NH Magazine and noted as a "well-appointed rural retreat." The home was thoroughly renovated, keeping the antique features combined with modern-day amenities. You will find six fireplaces, alluring murals, and wide pine floors. The 40'x20' great room,, with 42 inch flat screen TV, has a soaring ceiling that continues into the professional chef's kitchen. Enjoy the patio, beautiful stone walls, and over eleven acres of level fields. The Lodge is furnished with antiques from the 16th and 17th century.

Come and experience nature at its best with hiking trails, lakes, skiing, shopping, antiquing, summer playhouse in Peterborough, and exploring the quaint towns nearby. The State capitol and President Franklin Pierce Homestead are a short drive away. Flexible checkout available upon request.

NOTE: We have an additional guest fee of $50 per person for groups with more than 2 people (maximum occupancy of 6 people)

Why Owner/Manager chose Deering

If you love history, you will find this Lodge filled with the charm and beauty of an era long gone. Built just a few years before we became a nation, the property has been restored to maintain the old ambiance and yet added the modern conveniences we have become accustomed to living with. If you are there at the right moment, you will be able to look out the window of the Great room and see the wild turkeys or deer walking across the fields.

Charming home

  • 4 of 5

We completely enjoyed our weekend stay. It was a great time to connect with the family. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for cooking for our family. The only minor drawback was that there wasn’t a seating space for all of us to dine together. There is a formal dining room, but the chandelier didn’t work. So we often surrounded the island or ate around the sofa table. It was playoff weekend so we had plenty of football to watch and cheer for. Bob, the owner, was phenomenal. He was very attentive and always a phone me call or text away. I would definitely stay here again when we need a destination for skiing and visiting in NH.

Wonderful, charming, spacious house.

  • 5 of 5

The house is simply magnificent. The minute you cross through the doorway, you feel like you are stepping back in time. The house has so much character: enormous fireplaces, time-worn floorboards, beautiful antiques throughout, and so much more. And with the old also comes the new, as the renovated part of the house has all the creature comforts you need plus an enormous, spectacular family room. The bedrooms are nicely sized as well. If you want a peaceful, relaxing New England weekend, stay here. You won't be disappointed.
