Overview

Ridgway House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms Plus Loft Sleeping, 2.5 Baths, 9 Sleeps Secluded On 38 Acres

Please note that the OURAY HOT SPRINGS POOL will be CLOSED from 9/6/2016 until May 2017 for a renovation project. You can read about the changes on the Ouray Chamber Resort Association website.

The views from this beautiful log home will take your breath away! Whether you're dining outdoors on the deck or enjoying a quiet moment on the porch swing, you will feel your stress just melting away as you gaze out over the mountains and valley.

Panoramic views are abundant here, where this house sits on a point, secluded on 38 acres of forest and mountains, overlooking a peaceful valley. There is also a seasonal, natural pond on the property, visible from the porch.

Just a 20-25 minute drive from Ouray, you are accessible to the shops, galleries, restaurants, markets, and hot springs pools of Ouray and Ridgway. Peaceful Point is located in the Park Estates area, a gated community that borders public land -- so there are lots of places to roam, whether it be right in your own back yard or in the nearby national forest!

With HDTV and Wireless Internet, you can be all alone, "on top of the world," and still be able to keep in touch with the outside world should you wish or need to!

This beautiful, recently built log home is warmly furnished in mountain style, with a wood-burning, stone fireplace in the living room. The kitchen is modern and open, with a window above the sink that will make even dish washing a visual treat!

Peaceful Point has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The bedrooms each have a rustic-style queen bed with high-end bedding. The master bedroom and bath are on the main floor; the master bath has a spacious, walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms are located upstairs, each with a small, private balcony, and share a guest bath with walk-in shower. There is a half bath on the main floor off of the entry way near the kitchen.

Have kids or additional singles in your party? The loft overlooking the living room has a private deck and is uniquely outfitted with three twin trundle beds that pull out of the wall like drawers! What a great space for the kids to "call their own!"

Please note: For winter stays (November 1 to May 1), a 4WD vehicle is required, and chains are highly recommended. This home sits at high elevation and can get lots of snow in winter.

Well-behaved dogs up to 40 pounds are welcome at Peaceful Point with payment of a non-refundable pet fee.

About Pets: If you are booking online from VRBO and will be bringing more than one pet, please contact our office so that we can provide you with an accurate quote, and you will be able to book from your quote. You can also book more accurately from our website if you have more than one pet.

No smoking of any kind is permitted in this property.

This property is managed by Ouray Vacation Rentals. We offer the largest selection of vacation rental properties in Ouray County!

NOTE: WE ARE SORRY TO SAY THAT THIS HOME WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL AFTER 11/15/16 DUE TO HOA RESTRICTIONS.

ABOUT THE AREA: You will want to spend several days in beautiful Ouray County. Ouray, which is known as the "Switzerland of America," is nestled in a small valley with 360-degree views of 12,000-14,000 mountains. Ridgway, nicknamed the "Gateway to the San Juans," is just 10 miles from Ouray and is well-known as the place where the John Wayne movie "True Grit" was filmed. Many of the movie set's buildings are still used today by local businesses. These two historic towns offer a variety of activities: restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, hot springs pools, jeep rentals, hiking, fishing and boating -- the list goes on and on! Day trips to Silverton, Telluride and Durango are fun as well.

Ouray is also often called "The Jeeping Capital of the World" because of its many trails through the high country (rated easy to rugged), popular for 2-wheel and 4-wheel off road vehicles.

Golf is available at beautiful Divide Ranch Golf Club located on Log Hill Mesa just above Ridgway, offering panoramic mountain views. Telluride and Montrose also have golf courses.

Ouray and Ridgway both offer local markets, and you can find larger stores like City Market, Safeway, Target and Walmart in Montrose, a flat, easy drive 35 miles from Ouray, 25 miles from Ridgway.

No matter how long you decide to stay, you will find yourself wanting to come back again and again to Ouray County, one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Hidden Gem

This house was more than I could have imagined... The property is secluded enough to provide the feeling of getting away, but it is also reasonably close to anything you may need. The view is incredible, and the feeling of being on the side of a mountain is unreal.

I would recommend this property to anyone interested in experiencing nature, exploring mines, taking your chances at ice climbing, or looking to hit the slopes. There are plenty of activities to enjoy within close proximity to the location, and I highly doubt you will encounter any people that are anything but generous and kind.

I look forward to planning my next trip here because this was such an amazing vacation.

Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed this beautiful place with gorgeous views. I loved cooking breakfast every morning in the open and well-appointed kitchen. The beds and decoration are absolutely unique, rustic, and most are made of beautiful barnwood. I slept in the master bedroom and the bed, and all the beds, were very comfortable for sleeping. The master bathroom and accompanying shower was so well done, I didn't want to leave!

This hand-hewn log home was so peaceful to stay in. With family and friends, we had a fire in the fireplace every night, and went sledding a couple of days down the driveway. That was so much fun! We also went skiing in Telluride, and it's only about a 50 min drive from the house. We enjoyed eating at local restaurants, like Buen Tiempo, The Outlaw, and the True Grit Cafe. The food was delicious.

All-in-all this is the best place that we have ever stayed! The house is so warm and inviting! It was by far the most peaceful, yet fun-filled place we have been to, and provided the most incredible views of Ridgway, all the way to Grand Junction, and also incredible views back to Ouray!

I would highly recommend staying here! We can't wait until we can come back again!

Cabin is peaceful and relaxing. It's secluded at the top of a mountain which is great for tranquil, beautiful views. The interior of the cabin is very spacious. Everything from the furniture to the wall decor is cabin-themed which really got us into the Coloradan mood. It's not too far from Telluride ski resort, only about 45 minutes, and it's very close to Ouray which was a cute little town my family enjoyed visiting to stop and eat or go to the hot springs. The only disappointment was from my son who wanted to see a mountain lion... But I'm not complaining ha! :)

Beyond beautiful!

  • 4 of 5

There were a few minor repairs that we forwarded to the property manager, but not one bit of any of this kept this from being the best place we ever stayed. This cabin is beyond beautiful! The beds are so comfortable. The furniture and tables were great for our seven adults. This is as close to paradise on earth for us!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for providing us with information about necessary repairs. We like being able to take care of them immediately, for you and for the next guest. Much appreciated, and we're pleased that they didn't impact your stay in the home!
