Very good central location. Apartment was very nice. Only drawback was the narrow stairways but understand that’s part of older buildings in Amsterdam.
Hands down best spot we could have chosen for our stay! Beautiful apartment and it is literally right smack dab in the middle of EVERYTHING!!! So good thanks again
The apartment was very spacious and clean. Location was excellent. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Good location, comfortable and clean place, cooperative owner
Key thing with this place is to make sure you understand what you are choosing. It is in the Red Light district, so there's some seedy stuff going on just across the river, and it is quite active and noisy at night. On the top floor of the apartment, with the windows closed, the noise was not a problem. On the bottom floor, though, it could cause trouble for a light sleeper.
I was happy with the location because it is so central. We walked to Anne Frank and museum district. Occasionally took some cabs for things that were further away. You can walk two or three blocks in either direction to be away from the red light stuff and have nice streets to stroll along for shopping, restaurants, absorbing the local Amsterdam vibe. Easy walk to central train station.
The other thing to know about this place is that there are lot of stairs and they are VERY steep. It is almost more like climbing a ladder than climbing stairs.
The apartment is comfortable. Big master bedroom on the top floor with a nice bathroom and a good shower. Next floor down is the living area, with modern kitchen. You can open the window and look out at the canal and people sitting at cafes. Bottom floor is another bedroom and bath. There's a washing machine on the top floor, dryer is on the bottom. You have to walk up two flights of stairs just to get to the bottom floor of the apartment.
The owner is very nice. Met us at the apartment, no problems. Checkout was easy and they were flexible with the checkout time.
I recommend a place called Tujuh Maret for a reistaffel dinner. Skip the "floating" flower market and trade the "Heineken Experience" for an experience of enjoying a beer at an outdoor cafe or a brewpub. There's a really good Vietnamese place called Saigon Caphe in the central station, and the Pancakes Amsterdam located at the ferry terminal is way less crowded than the other location that is also near the apartment.
Centrally located, easy to walk anywhere
A very comfortable apartment in a canal house. A warning to anyone with stair issues. This is a canal house with very steep narrow stairs as is common in canal houses. The street can be noisy, so light sleepers might have a problem. This was not an issue for me. Fairly close proximity to the train station made for an easy walk to the apartment. You can also access all the trams and metro lines that stop at the central station making any side trips further afield very easy.
Great stay in the heart of Amsterdam
This property has an excellent central location, right in the heart of Amsterdam. We were there for a week, and did not even use the transit system other than to and from the airport. Yes, it will be noisy into the night, but that is part of the travel experience for us. Open a bottle of wine, throw open the windows and experience Amsterdam people watching at it's finest. There are plenty of markets, restaurants, bars, and entertainment options right outside the front door. There is also a well equipped kitchen we used to cook several meals. Great stay, and great communication with the host and the local representative.
