Glenwood Springs House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom/1 Bath House Close To The Glenwood Hot Springs Pool

This is a great house with newly renovated, contemporary interiors in old classic, downtown. The location is in the heart of Glenwood Springs with walking access to fine restaurants, the Hot Springs Pool, the Colorado River Trails. The train station is only 1.5 blocks away. We recently upgraded the property by installing an air-conditioning system.

The Living/Dining/Kitchen area is spacious with two Bedrooms with queen beds and extra sleeping on a pullout sofa in the main room. The front porch is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the river, hiking, biking or soaking in the Hot Springs pool.

If you like art, this rental features colorful happy paintings by Bumbleweedz. The kitchen area is warm urban loft contemporary with European cabinetry and lots of room and counter space to cook meals, entertain and eat. The full bath has tub and shower.

About Dara

We are architects who fell in love with this valley many years ago. Glenwood Springs is a wonderful place to visit. Living here for more than 15 years gives us knowledge about many things local such as great restaurants, great trails, the best places to go horse back riding. If you have a question about anything, we are happy to share what we know with you! We hope you enjoy your stay in beautiful Glenwood Springs!

Dara purchased this house in 2001

Why Dara chose Northwest Colorado

This adorable little house is located in a quiet neighborhood 2 blocks east of Grand Avenue. It has been remodeled by Bruce with touches of old barn wood and rusted steel on the exterior and a warm, contemporary touch on the interior.

What makes this house unique

Quiet neighborhood, located in the heart of downtown Glenwood Springs, enjoy walks to shops and restaurants and along bike paths by the rivers! The Hot Springs Pool is right across the walking bridge! There is an off street parking spot and exterior, lockable hanging for bikes and kayaks. We will have a fresh bouquet of flowers waiting for you.

We enjoyed this property - right in downtown Glenwood Springs - walkable is the key! Walkable to the hot springs pool, to several awesome bike trails, to eateries. Perfect! The home itself was delightful - whimsical fully updated miner's cabin with comfy contemporary furnishings and fun pieces of the owner's original art. Clean and moderately equipped. Quite comfortable for two grandparents and a twelve year old grandson. We will hope to return again - autumn is gorgeous in the Rockies.

Artist House 9/9-9/11

  • 2 of 5

This is a cute little house. We enjoyed our stay and the house was right near the restaurants and just a couple minutes to the hot springs. We were not in the house very much, but we do have some feedback. It was very expensive!

It's kinda patched together and the plywood floors and walls make for a louder and chilly environment. There are metal "patches" in the plywood flooring and it looked like they added on to the back of the house and expanded the kitchen. Watch out for the metal "slide" by the sink as we all slid on the slope of this metal piece and almost fell several times. I also stubbed my toe on the metal piece going out from the back bedroom into the kitchen several times. There is no disposal or dishwasher--not a deal breaker, but the small fridge kind of the bigger deal. The add says it sleeps 6 people, however, if you tried to do this, it would be mighty uncomfortable. The 3rd bed is a roll-away bed and is a twin bed and the only place to put it is in the living room. The 2nd bedroom is a double bed, and the main bedroom is a queen. The bedding was sparse. We had a sheet and quilt and it was pretty chilly. Unlikely we would go back, but we had a great time in the mountains, Aspen, and at the new Iron Mountain Hot Springs.

Owner's Response: We suppose not everyone is going to like our house, as proof here. However a lot of this review does not make sense. For instance, there are no metal patches in our house. We have not added on to our kitchen, not that it would be a bad thing(?) There isn't a metal slide by the sink or anywhere in our house. The threshold between the bedroom and the kitchen is a little taller than normal , maybe an inch. It is an old house with a lot of character. The interior has been renovated with contemporary materials. The wood gives it a warm feel. The house itself is really simple and works as a place to sleep and land after a long day. It sleeps 6. There are two bedrooms and a pullout sofa in the front room. We have also put a fold out cot in the closet for your use as well. We keep extra bedding for you to access in the closet, always enough for the # of guests staying, always. Our rates go down in the off season quite a bit, still our summer rates are much better than the summer time local hotel rates. We love our house and we are always willing to improve upon it, thank you for your input.

Quaint and Close to Everything

  • 5 of 5

This little house it so cute, is in a nice neighborhood and is just three blocks away from the heart of downtown. We stayed there two nights in August and it was nice to have the air conditioning. The art everywhere is a real plus. The kitchen is very unique but you have everything you need. I do recommend this place. My only comment is bed in the front bedroom is not a queen but rather a double. But everything else is as advertised and the location makes the property a real gem.

Great things.....

**Awesome location, couldn't be beat, we walked everywhere!! Only got the car outta the driveway once in 4 days to get provisions.

**Nice spacious open living/kitchen, great for the 3 of us!

**Comfortable beds, nice & bright decor

**Nice renno'd bathroom, more counter space would have been nice w/ 3 ladies who use lotsa cosmetics, cremes & magic to stay looking younger- than-dirt. Maybe some shelving or storage under the sink would work????

**Nice assortment of kitchen implements to prepare food; we weren't missing anything we needed!

**Nice friendly owner :)

Things I'd change if this were my place: (isn't there always somethin?)

**Larger TV, they're not that expensive anymore, we wanted a girl's stay-in-movie night & had to move furniture to be able to see the screen

**Larger, quieter fridge--once you get that big ol' bottle a wine in there, no room for healthy food, take home leftovers or junk food, for that matter!! :( Also, the fridge is REALLY noisy at night, really makes sleeping without the door closed pretty much a "no-go" and with it closed the air doesn't circulate as well.

Overall, really really enjoyed ourselves, Thanks Dara!!

Hoschto, GA

wonderful little retreat EXCELLENT location

  • 5 of 5

We visited Glenwood Springs with two things in mind. Skiing and utilizing the towns Hot Springs. Stumbling upon this charm of a home was a bonus. It was clean and organized. Decorated with the owner/artists creations. Though the house is on the "tiny" side (I believe around 900 sqf), they have made wise use of the space. The kitchen is very open with ample room to prepare a meal (we only prepare snacks). The refrigerator is a smaller apartment sized. However it worked perfectly for us as we only stored drinks and a few snacks. The freezer section was just large enough to store a large bag of ice. If we were to have stayed longer than 2 nights, we would need to bring a cooler to store frozen foods in.

The tv in the home is very small and does not have satellite or cable. No reception what so ever. Loads if VHS tapes were available as well as computer cords to stream shows from your laptop. We were not there to watch tv so this wasn't an issue to us. Internet worked great. There are two tables to dine on. Six chairs for the tables. We played board games both nights and the living room table was perfect for game playing. The bathroom was large (considering the smallness of the home) and had adequate towels for each of us. Warning...the bathroom door lock didn't catch when closed so the door was never locked. We implemented a "closed door means occupied" rule and had no issues. Perhaps the owners should hang an artsy sign on door that could be flipped to read occupied (when in use) . A previous renter had mentioned the front bedroom bed had a tendency to roll when occupant moved. Our son and daughter in law confirmed this issue. Seems the bed is on wheels and moves a bit with movement. Not a big deal and probably an easy fix.

The location was the best. A very short walk into town. Lots of options for dinning and shopping. There is great bookstore a stones throw from the house, the hot springs were "walkable" (a bit of a walk, but definitely one I'd take in warmer weather) but we drove as it was 40 degrees and the thought of walking back with wet hair was not appealing.

We had an extra friend join us for one night. She utilized the roll away bed.. It was a very nice bed. She said she slept well. We set it up in the living room and it fit nicely.

We turned the heat on once and it worked like a charm.. We would return to this home without hesitation. The owners were very helpful and accommodating.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your thoughtful review. It will surely be helpful to future guests! We will address the bathroom lock and the rolling bed. Thanks again, it is an excellent place to stay if you are planning on adventures and need a place to land, eat and relax between those adventures, small and simple in the middle of it all (downtown). Please visit again!
