This beautiful home is completely updated with modern amenities and family friendly surroundings. Picturesque South Lake Leelanau is the setting for this exceptional 3 bed/ 4 bath home. The home offers 2 spacious master suites, each with its own full bath. The 3rd bedroom downstairs which contains 3 triple bunk beds and its own bathroom is the perfect place for the kids to rest their heads after a long day swimming in the sandy and shallow waterfront. The unique new granite countertop is the centerpiece for the updated and fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances. Your family can enjoy the evening watching tv or playing games inside next to the wood burning fireplace. However, the waterside fire pit will convince you that summer nights and s'mores are best on Lake Leelanau! While the adults are sipping wine on the oversized deck with expansive lake views, the kids can be entertained in their very own game/media room downstairs which walks out to the lake. For the natural at heart, the new enclosed outdoor shower will be the perfect end to your full day on the lake. Pictures will be added as renovations are completed. Great house! Comfy beds! Clean! Great for a group! Beautiful view!
Overall a great stay! Thank you :)
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully your future travels can bring you back to Lake Leelanau!
Fantastic home with great view and location
We are frequent HomeAway guests and this is one of the very best homes we've had the opportunity to visit. There are so many activities in the area that our five day visit was packed and we left some destinations for our next visit. Leland/Fishtown, Northport/Grand Traverse Lighthouse, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes/Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive and many local Wineries were the focal point of our trip. Northern Latitude Distillery is a must stop if you enjoy liquid adventure. There are several quaint towns like Leland, Suttons Bay, Cedar and Glen Arbor to visit on the peninsula.
The home has plenty of room for multiple families with the youngsters getting their own space (large bunk room) along with pool table and huge flat screen TV to entertain if not sitting by a campfire or spending time in the water with provided kayaks, paddle boats or paddle board.
The home itself was immaculate upon arrival and well appointed. Large deck with plenty of comfortable seating for enjoying the view and sunshine. We will definitely be back to enjoy this beautiful home, lake and surrounding areas.
Beautiful m, modern house!
Had my sister’s bachelorette weekend here and it was perfect for 10 girls! Everyone loved the house and many talked about wanting to rent with thier family. Perfect and cozy for the fall! We even had a yoga teacher come to do a private yoga class at the house! If it was a little warmer we would of done it on the deck! Great spot!
Highly Recommend - Five Stars!
Everything about this place is fantastic!
My family had the pleasure of renting this beautiful home with our friends and their family for Labor Day weekend, and we are still talking about how much fun we had there and how it was one of the best family getaways we've ever had.
Altogether, our group consisted of myself, my wife, our son (12th grade), our daughter (9th), and our younger daughter and her friend (both 7th). Our friends took their son (12th grade), their younger son (10th), his 2 friends (10th and 9th), and their daughter and her friend (both 8th). So, in total, there were 14 of us - 4 adults, 5 boys, and 5 girls.
The home has 2 very spacious master suites, each with equally spacious full baths, that the adults used. We had the girls take the 3rd bedroom downstairs, which has 3 very nice bunk beds and its own large, full bath. The 3rd bedroom is as clean, spacious and sharp as the master suites. All of us commented that the beds were very comfortable. In the evening, the guys laid out air mattresses in the game room/media room, and we heard no complaints, only light snoring. They wound up sharing the bathroom with the girls without any issue.
In fact, we had no issues with our 10 teenagers the entire weekend, which is highly unusual. No guarantees but our experience may be something to keep in mind when selecting your next place to stay. :)
Our friend was nice enough to make breakfast for all 14 of us each day in the updated kitchen using the groceries we bought at Meijer in nearby Traverse City, which hit the spot and saved us a ton of money. We also used the large grill for burgers, hot dogs and chicken. There was plenty of seating for the kids in the kitchen and dining room. Most of us, however, took advantage of the ample seating on the deck and the beautiful view of the lake.
We comfortably gathered around the jumbo TV in the game room one night for the Michigan-ND game but otherwise in the evenings we played pool in the game room, played cards and board games in the large living room on the main floor, or we hung out around the large fire pit (located next to the lake) making s'mores after swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding all day. When we weren't hanging out at the property during the day, we had a great time tubing and boating on the pontoon we rented. We also checked out nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes, which itself is amazing.
In short, this place is awesome and Jamie does an excellent job taking care of her guests.
Thanks so much for this terrific review! I’m so glad your family had a wonderful time at the house. I very much appreciate your attention to detail. This will be very helpful to others when selecting their vacation home. Thanks again!
My family rented this lovely home for our long-awaited family reunion trip...and we all couldn't be happier with our stay. From day one, Jamie was a responsive and very helpful host. Looking at the pictures, I had high hopes...and this place delivered!
The home is spacious, and was very comfortable for our party of 13. There are tons of amenities inside...fully stocked kitchen, laundry supplies, cozy linens, and tons of towels to name a few! There's even a second refrigerator in the very large garage. The modern decorations are very tasteful, and the furniture is super comfy.
The outside of the home is even better. The large deck has great patio furniture, and a huge modern grill. The deck was the perfect spot to watch the lovely sunrises in the morning. The home's lot is not huge, and there are neighbors nearby...but it's so well situated and landscaped that it still feels very private. There are pretty stone steps down to the lawn, which has plenty of space for lawn games. The access to lovely Lake Leelanau is perfect...there's a wonderful, long dock out into clean, shallow, sandy- bottomed water. The end of the dock is not deep, but it was just right for docking the pontoon we rented. We had never been to this lake before, but we found it great for active water sports, touring around, swimming, and just laying around on a raft. Speaking of which, the house comes equipped with a full array of toys and we enjoyed them all...TWO paddle boats, kayaks, paddle board, big tube, and several rafts. The outside shower was fun (although with 3 full and a half bath inside you almost don't need it). And, the fire pit near the water's edge is top-notch...lot's of seating, plenty of wood and marshmallow-roasting sticks included.
This home is ideally located on the Peninsula, so there's lots to do if you can tear yourself away from the lake. It's not too far from Traverse City, for shopping. There's plenty more shopping, sightseeing and restaurants in little nearby towns. We searched for Petoskey stones near Leland, and hiked and climbed and swam in Lake Michigan in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.
Any negatives? Just the driveway's a teeny bit steep and the sprinkler system caught us a couple of times. Oh, and having to leave :)
Thank you for the tremendously detailed review ! When our family travels is often with a large group so I strive to provide the amenities that I think we would like as well. I’m so glad that you enjoyed our home and hope that you are able to come back again!
Outstanding home on a beautiful lake!
Spectacular home on beautiful Lake Leelanau! The home has everything you will need for a great vacation. All the furniture is clean and comfortable. No detail is missed, from the extras in the pantry, water equipment, and linens. The home easily slept our group of 14. The location was great as well with Leland, Sutton's Bay, Glen Arbor, Traverse City, and Sleeping Bear Dunes all 45 mins or less away. We hope to return again in the future! Jamie was always quick to reply and communication was excellent!!!
