Private country ranch family home with incredible vistas and hiking steps away
With incredible vistas of the beautiful Carmel Valley rolling hills and the Garland Ranch Park, this 1500 sq. foot sunny ranch home is ideal for enjoying warm days and the best Carmel Valley has to offer for indoor and outdoor living. In a fabulous location sitting in between Bernardus Lodge and Carmel Valley Ranch, enjoy nature in the comfort of your own rented home - with 360 degrees of privacy - where the sun usually reigns supreme.
This simple and charming retreat home has newly refinished hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms, and a new main bathroom. With large picture windows throughout the home, the open floor plan lends for larger living than the square footage might imply. The space is located in all the right places - the open living areas! The two bedrooms are comfortable and cozy, with the main bath located in between the bedrooms. A large wood dining table seats 8 for sunny breakfast or late dinner gatherings. A small bath off the family room has a shower, and makes this family room space able to convert into a third sleeping area.
Two glass sliding doors to the front patio, as well as large windows throughout the home make it light, bright and airy from sunrise to sunset. A patio table with an umbrella and four chairs sits on the front patio. A back deck overlooks Garland Park. Privacy is supreme at the home, and the views magnificent to enjoy.
Take a walk and a hike right from the house to popular Garland Ranch Park, with an elevation of 1900 to enjoy nature and the many hiking trails, the river, and from the top of the trails, views of the peninsula and ocean. Drive 1.5 miles to five-star Bernardus Lodge Resort and Spa to enjoy the fire pit with a drink, a day at the spa to be pampered, or enjoy happy hour prices during the week for food. Golf reigns supreme here on the peninsula - golf at a private club (Carmel Valley Ranch, Preserve or Tehama) or a local public course or choose one of the world-renowned courses in Pebble Beach. Wine tasting at one of the many tasting rooms in Carmel Valley Village has become a popular outing with wonderful local wines to buy and enjoy. Stop for lunch at well-known Cafe Rustica Restaurant and mingle through art and gift shops for a perfect afternoon in CV Village four miles from the home.
If you prefer, spend the day in Carmel-by-the-Sea (9 miles) to enjoy Carmel beach, more upscale shopping, art galleries, wine tasting and many fine restaurants. Enjoy convenience at Mid-Valley Shopping Center (3 miles) with a Safeway grocery store, a Carmel Coffee Roasting Company coffee shop ( a local favorite), or grab a pizza at Ioli's, a small Italian restaurant.
The Monterey Peninsula is truly a treasure to be explored with Carmel, Carmel Valley Village, Monterey, Pacific Grove and famous Big Sur all offering unique day experiences with spectacular vistas. You won't want to leave this country home once you spend a few peaceful nights here!

About Lori Luch
Originally from the Bay Area, we moved our family to the Monterey Peninsula in 2002 to raise our children and experience the incredible outdoor living and slower pace that the Monterey Peninsula had to offer. An avid hiker, swimmer, and outdoors person, the Central Coast offered the perfect blend of living for me and our family. Carmel Valley became home in 2009 after living closer to the beach for the first five years. We love it here in sunny and beautiful Carmel Valley in our country ranch home.
Lori Luch purchased this House in 2009
Why Lori Luch chose Carmel Valley
A private country retreat behind a gated driveway in one of Carmel Valley's finest neighborhoods makes for a serene and comfortable stay. Ideal location in the valley with warmer weather than the coast, outings whether it be hiking/biking, wine tasting, restaurants or driving to Carmel or Big Sur are still convenient. Better yet, stay home and take a much needed rest in the natural beautiful surroundings.
What makes this House unique
Safely located behind a gated driveway, privacy is supreme at this home. Nestled among the oak trees, the views of Garland are magnificent, and the simple and charming country feel can be a perfect romantic or family get-a-way. Amenities include bed linens, towels, fully-functional kitchen (pots/pans, utensils, smaller appliances, dishes and glassware), hard wire and wi-fi internet throughout the home, and waher/dryer. A large driveway provides ample parking.

My family had a great time visiting for a long weekend.
Exploring the area from a convenient location and coming to a comfortable home in the evening.

A wonderful spot, set up just like home. The lovely view, privacy, and nearby park were just what we needed to create a perfect home base for a family Thanksgiving gathering. Lori was easy to work with and available for any issues, which there were none. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
It was a pleasure renting my home to you and your family, and please come back to Carmel Valley anytime. You took meticulous care of the property, and this is so appreciated. So glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Week here with your family on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.
Fantastic home in beautiful Carmel Velley !!
We have just returned from a wonderful week in Carmel Valley. This home is a real gem, located amongst the California Oak trees......... its a perfect hide-way from the big cities !
The rooms are all very spacious and well furnished with lots of very comfy sofas. There's a great flat screen TV with cable, DVR & DVD and the kitchen has everything you need and then some !
It was a joy to wake up to views of the park land and relax with a coffee in one of the many outdoor seating areas.
Carmel Valley is a beautiful town, you have everything you need in this quaint village and the people here are so welcoming. The Garland National Park is only two minutes away and our family enjoyed a short hike there. With Carmel Beach and Monterey both only 20 minutes away, there is so much to do. We also went Kayaking with the otters and seals at Elkhorn Slough !!, visited Cannery Row, Santa Cruz and celebrated July 4th with an amazing fireworks show at Scotts Valley.
The local village has fantastic outdoor pool & our son spent hours there, mixing with the local kids and enjoying the long summer days. Its been way too long since our last trip to the Carmel Peninsula..............we hope to return very soon !!
