About Matt Lvovich

I fell in love with Cape Cod years ago when I used to come here with my dad. When I saw this little cottage, I knew it would be a great opportunity for me and my family to be closer to this magical place. I feel blessed to be able to share it with others.

How to spend a relaxing week

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have enjoyed staying at Nauset Haven Lakeside Houskeeping Cottages numerous times ( approximately 17 total times)since our honeymoon in Cottage No. 1 in August, 1977. We also stayed in Cottage No. 1 last August and also three years ago.

We keep coming back almost every year to enjoy a very relaxing, comforting pace in a natural, beautiful environment that hasn't changed much in the last 40 years. We love the layout of the cottage in a cozy environment with an outdoor porch overlooking Minister's Pond and enjoyed many hours swimming in the pond, plus rowing the boats. We also enjoy bicycling the great natural trails in the various beaches, from Eastham up to Provincetown, only 21 miles away, 30 minutes away. We love the bay beaches also and the sunsets at the beaches and also the abundance of seafood restaurants. Our cottage is nicely equipped with all the necessities for enjoying a stay, to a fully equipped kitchen and fireplace and lounge chairs and a living room couch and dinette table with three chairs and a TV with cable and Netflix and Amazon and IHeart programming and air conditioners and ceiling fans, and the shower stall packed into 340 square feet.

We love everything about Nauset Haven and the quaintness of it all. It's essential character has remained the same over our visits over the last 40 years. We came 11 years in a row with our two sons in the 1990's and it was their favorite place in the world, and it has remained our favorite place in the world.

Perfect vacation spot---charming cottage, stunning beaches nearby, peaceful, great restaurants.

  • 5 of 5

Wow, this was a fantastic vacation! The cottage is so cute, charmingly decorated, clean, modern, with speedy wifi, overhead fans, hardwood floors, a smart TV, brand new refrigerator, really comfy bed, great lounge-around area with soft pillows and a rocking chair, and nice touches like a flashlight and a window fan (clean!) This cottage is at the end of the little private dirt road, so there is only nature on one side of the cottage, which makes it quite private, and there is a little deck/balcony that looks over Minister's Pond---gorgeous---usually bright blue with the sun, sometimes foggy, but always beautiful and full of birdsong as the birds flit from branch to branch. There was even a tiny unafraid bunny eating on the front lawn at least two or three times a day...it was like it was staged, it was so perfect!

I brought my bike from home (but it is easy to rent them here) and it took me just a couple of minutes to ride to the entrance of Cape Cod National Seashore, Coast Guard Beach. The pretty bike path to the beach is 1.5 miles (and you don't have to pay a fee once you get there, unlike when you bring your car.) Breathtakingly beautiful beach. There are seals going by all the time--they stare at you with their cute faces! The other beaches (Marconi, Nauset Light, First Encounter, etc.) are nearby and amazing too. Another really fun thing is the Cape Cod Rail Trail: 22 miles of safe biking paths going through all these adorable towns.

I found the food/restaurant situation around here to be outstanding. I loved trying all the different lobster rolls. There is lots of local information in a binder on a shelf in the cottage, as well as a book on Cape Cod, and I wrote my personal recommendations down in the guestbook.

There was also a charcoal grill, an outdoor clothesline with clothespins for trying your bathing suits and towels, an umbrella and chairs on the deck, a hammock, a fireplace, full kitchen including coffee maker, toaster, microwave, knives, etc., cubbies for putting your clothes, and even a small closet. The cleaners obviously do a great job because the place was sparkling clean.

The owner Matt was very nice and responded quickly to my emails and questions.

I will absolutely come back here and I can't wait! What a great, great place.
