Savour a Roman interlude in a 16th century Historic Palazzo originally built by the aristocratic Mattei family 500 years ago, and recently carefully restored to its Baroque glory. It is in a perfect location at the end of Via Coronari, a quiet and chic street in the historic center near both the Piazza Navona and the wonderful Campo di Fiori, Rome's famed Fruit and Vegetable market in the day and open-air cocktail party by night. You will also find an easy walk to all the major attractions in the center including Castel St.Angelo, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trastevere, St. Peters, the Colisseum and more.
The apartment is a large studio with high vaulted ceilings, original and beautifully preserved Terracotta floors, and lovely moulded built-in cupboards, evocative of its aristocratic Renaissance heritage. There is a four-poster queen-sized bed, plus a single bed for a third person hidden within the built-in cupboards, a small corner kitchen, a bathroom with shower and bidet, wireless Internet, a Nespresso automatic espresso machine. It is elegantly furnished with antiques and fine fabrics, and luxury linens. It is perfect for a romantic interlude, a cultural city break, or a family visit to Rome for a couple with a child.

The apartment is extremely well designed for a couple or small family. The main room is relatively spacious, comprising double bed, seating area and a big dining table (there is a further fold-down bed in one cupboard, but as a couple we didn't need it). The kitchenette, inside a cupboard in the hallway, is small but well equipped (double hob, microwave, dish washer). Very useful for breakfasts and small meals, but cooking anything more ambitious than that might be a challenge. The bathroom is also cleverly tucked away into a recess in one of the walls. Again, it is small, but well designed and ample for a couple. The location is right at the heart of the Old Rome district. Nearly all the major tourist sites are within 20-25 minutes' walking distance (and make sure you visit Gelateria del Teatro, one of the best in Rome, which is literally just around the corner). Susan, the manager, was incredibly helpful during the booking process and, by email, throughout our stay. She also provided any extremely comprehensive set of instructions for the apartment and advice about Rome.
What a wonderful delight to have a stunning Roman view so near the apartment, Castel Sant’Angelo shining brightly in the distance, seen just a few steps from “Roma Romantica”. The convenient location of the apartment is excellent, and it is a welcome haven inside. The high-vaulted ceilings and large French windows create such grandeur in a studio space. The bed was very comfortable, and WIFI was excellent. I walked in every direction from the apartment, and it was always a welcome relief to come back to rest - it felt like home. They even provided a rolling bag for grocery shopping if you make a trip to the local market - I thought that was a nice touch for "local living"! Highly recommended!
This apartment is absolutely first rate from the location, to the ambiance, to Adriana who greeted us and got us settled in. Everything one could want for either a relaxed stay or an action packed tourist extravaganza is within convenient walking distances including restaurants, churches, shops, historical venues. We highly recommend it and plan on retuning in the future.
Dear Susan and Commendable Staff,
Thank you for the “perfect” stay in your beautiful 'home.’ That is exactly how we felt, ‘home’! Everything was charming and we went to several of your recommended restaurants. The location was spectacular, we could walk everywhere and were right over the bridge from the Vatican. Thanks for the leaving the books on Rome - through this I found out about the Wednesday Papal blessing which turned out to be the best part of this trip when we got in to see the Pope on Wed 8/5/15!
Thanks for the rental advice of ‘La Fiammetta’ also, another gem, and our children enjoyed it. Our first time to Italy and we will be back.
Love from USA, xo.

Exquisite spacious flat in a historic Renaissance Palazzo. Close to all the sights - we walked everywhere! Amrita was super helpful booking a driver and greeting us at the flat. Very comfortable - a wonderful haven after days of sightseeing. We especially liked the quiet location just round the corner from lovely shops, restaurants, and a gelateria. The flat is beautifully decorated with a small fully functioning kitchen, quirky bathroom and stacks of books on Rome, its history and art. We were sad to leave - highly recommended!
My boyfriend and I stayed in this beautiful apartment for our 4 night stay in Rome. Paola and Susan made our stay so easy and comfortable. They set us up with a driver to and from the airport, restaurant recommendations, and more! The apartment is so quaint and beautiful and the perfect stay for a couple. It is romantic and charming and right in the heart of the city.
We are first time travelers and were nervous. The apartment became our nest! It is just as it looks. Clean, sweet & cozy. We enjoyed the neighborhood / location. We did a lot of sight seeing daily and still made time to discover the
the streets around us. It was endless. The sound of the birds took a bit to get use to, but It seems the norm being near the river. We enjoyed the lovely small kitchen and the meals we made there.
I must thank Susan for support through our stay and arranging our pick up for our departure.
I hope your enjoy this little jewel as much as we did.

The location in the heart of Rome is simply the best. Live a real Rome experience. You are a short stroll to the Campo di Fiori where you can buy some of the most beautiful produce you will ever see. You are walking distances to all the major sites, to great boutique shopping, great restaurants and intimate trattorias. Walk to Piazza Navona, the Vatican, the Pantheon, hip Trastevere, elegant Via Giulia, the Forum, the Coliseum, and much more. If you don't want to walk, bus stops are nearby, and frequent bus service will take you anywhere.
The apartment is 100 yards from the river Tiber, and directly opposite is the looming hulk of Emperor Hadrian's tomb, subsequently converted into the Castel Sant Angelo to which on more than one occasion the Popes fled along a secret passage from the Vatican to find protection within its massive walls.
Wander through the historic centre's softly-lit streets in the evening and buy a fresh sorbetto from the notable 'gelateria' in Via Coronari.
