About Mary Ann Marchetti
After fulfilling the demands of my teaching career and raising a family, I had the opportunity to do the thing I always wanted – to embrace my passion for interior design. Kingston’s beauty and new-found popularity provided the place to reconfigure our properties in Historic Rondout to suit the desires of the discerning traveler. A natural extension is hospitality, rooted deep in the family history of both myself and my husband. It has been our great pleasure in greeting our guests and in extending them all the comforts of home at DeMew House and DeMew Townhouse.
Mary Ann Marchetti purchased this House in 1998

The De Mew House was a wonderful place to stay for our short visit to Kingston, NY. Everything was just what you would want it to be...immaculately clean, comfortable, nice location with a nice little kitchen, a beautiful bathroom, and a very comfortable bedroom. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this place to any couple interested in exploring the area. We stayed 2 nights and during our full day here we went to the FDR house in Hyde Park. It was only 35 min away. There are also good restaurants nearby if you aren’t planning on cooking. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
A True Home Base
DeMew House was perfect for exploring Hudson Valley's numerous historic estates. Not only were Mary Ann's dining recommendations spot-on, but the townhouse was a true "home" base that we gratefully returned to after our daily adventures. Thank you!
Our stay was great. We had our wedding in the area and the house could not have been more perfect for our weekend. We even decided to use the backyard for our first look. Everything was clean and she even had milk for our coffee for us. Highly recco this property for a weekend get away or more!
This home is lovely and meticulously maintained! The location allows you to walk to the Maritime Museum with nearby restaurants, and also take a short drive to explore the Uptown District. We enjoyed our stay here!
Julie and Larry were two of the loveliest people to meet. It was a real pleasure to host this them. Both were warm and friendly and left the place immaculate! Thank you for the wonderful review!
We had an amazing stay at the De Mew House! It was adorable and welcoming with an extremely comfortable layout and well thought out design. Mary Ann & Joe were so personable with interesting stories about their property history and we had everything and more that we could have needed. Every detail of design and luxuries were well thought out, tastefully decorated and much appreciated. The fresh flowers were beautiful and what a wonderful welcome gift. Make sure that you spend some time outdoors in the gazebo. It was a special treat. All and all this has been one of our most memorable places to visit and we travel a lot! We will definitely be back in the future. Thank you Mary Ann & Joe
Diane and Bruce were friendly, conscientious and excellent communicators. They left the DeMew House in immaculate condition, following the check-out directions perfectly! I'd definitely recommend this couple as guests, and would personally welcome them back if they they have a chance to revisit Kingston!
Perfect little getaway!
My husband and I were looking for a nice, quiet weekend away from the chaos of everyday life - life with children(Ha). 😀We hit the jackpot with this home! Mary Ann and Joe were the most welcoming hosts! They treated us like family and offered us recommendations for food and events; along with sharing the history of their own home.
The DeMew home was beautiful!! They even had music playing in the home when we arrived. We especially enjoyed the back patio set during the evenings. Wine, conversations and lightening bugs 💕
We would highly recommend this home for anyone interested in visiting that area. Thank you Mary Ann and Joe.
DeMew House is the perfect starting point from which to enjoy the Hudson Valley’s award-winning restaurants, wineries, historic sites, and breathtaking views of the mighty Hudson River.
From DeMew House, walk across the street to the promenade lined with sailboats to visit the waterfront restaurants, galleries, museums, cruises and shopping. Visit the Hudson River Maritime Museum, the Boat Building School, the Trolley Museum and the Visitor’s Center. The waterfront hosts many seasonal events, including Hooley-on-the- Hudson, the Italian Festival, the Sinterklauss Parade, Fourth of July festivities, and other ethnic and cultural events/festivities. Continue down the waterfront to experience the Kingston Lighthouse, and the seasonal SMORGASBURG UPSTATE, open designated weekends and the new concert space on the Hudson. Take a short taxi ride or bus (150 feet away) to visit the historic Stockade district in uptown Kingston, including the Senate House, restaurants, and cafes.
