This house is amazing. The views are breathtaking. The grounds are impeccable. My sons only wish for this trip was to see a toucan and for the first 2/3 we saw none. On our last day at the house two were perched in a tree and flew by us twice. He was thrilled. We went zip-lining nearby and saw a sloth in a tree, had a great dinner at the resort up the road. I could literally go on and on! The smell of the coffee plants and eucalyptus trees was to die for! Highly recommend!!
Would give 10 stars if I could!
The title of this review basically sums it up....this place really is unbelievable...its in a breathtaking spot both because of the view and the property surrounding the house, which is filled with flowers and native trees. The house itself is beautiful too, both the construction and design of it, and all the furnishings artwork etc. The pictures don't do it justice. The pool table is a huge bonus which we took advantage of too. Part of the appeal of the place for us was that its not that easy to get to, and its not in a super touristy area. If you're looking for a resort style experience this probably isn't the place for you....but if you want to experience real Costa Rica in a really cool house in a BEAUTIFUL spot then this place is for you! The area is surrounded by farmland, we saw coffee tree fields, cabbage fields, dairy cows, goats etc. etc. and walked down the dirt road to explore in both directions. Also, the Hotel Guayabo Lodge at the entrance to the dirt road that leads to the house is great. We ate breakfast there one day and dinner and both meals were fantastic. I hope to go back someday and stay longer!
Beautiful gardens and home!
Loved this place
A lot to see
We visited both Volcanoes. The first morning the workers were harvesting coffee. I took a lot of pictures. They were all so friendly. Was high light of my trip! Great place. A lot to do in this area!
Well exceed our expectation!
The property is located at the heart of the coffee-growing region of Costa Rica. It is a relatively populated area on Costa Rica standards, however, the solitude and tranquility of the property are truly remarkable. The garden is immaculate, colors are picturesque, flowers are abundant. Coffee plantations are easily accessible from the house and are interesting to explore. The all-wooden house has an extremely cozy atmosphere, it's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy yourself with the peacefulness of the place. By the way, the Aquarius coffee (you can buy it in the Aquarius village located just a few kilometers down the good shape gravel road from the house) is of reall good quality, don't miss it.
This house and property are the highest quality.
We have rented many houses over the past 10 years but this one was the best in terms of quality/beauty of the house & grounds. The house pictures are accurate but perhaps slightly understate how nice things are. The house is remote but we did NOT need a 4-wheel drive for access. My only suggestion for improvement would be for the Owner to provide a house book of information about the surrounding area. Fortunately, we were able to talk extensively to the owners of a small family lodge located about 1km from away to gather all this information. We enjoyed our stay in the mountains and learned a great deal about the area.
Great property, beautiful location and gardens
This is a fascinatingly interesting house with antiques and beautiful furnishings. A great kitchen to cook in and lots of places to hang out as a family and a group. The pool table was a huge hit with our kids! We enjoyed the cool weather and the spectacular views!
