It s a smoke free environment.

Thank you very much for making our stay in Cape Town such a pleasant and restful experience. You live in such a beautiful setting and being able to enjoy your garden and swimming pool was a bonus. Please send our best wishes and appreciation to your staff; always discreetly available if anything was needed. We enjoyed the privacy our space provided.
We had a wonderful stay with Jorje over Christmas and for New Year in her very stylish and spaciuos accomodation. She provided loads of useful information on what to see, where to eat and places to visit and stay in other parts of South Africa.
She and her family made us so welcome during the Christmas period and for New Year's Eve with lots of lovely get togethers with her family and friends and stimulating conversation.
It was really a pleasure to return each evening to such a peacful environment and enjoy the super views from the pool and terrace.
A real recommendation for couples looking for a quiet but conveniently located charming accomodation in a delightful setting.
Our family was fortunate enough to book both suites at this elegant yet comfortable home. Both were as lovely as the pictures and other reviews suggest. The gardens are peaceful and beautifully kept with stunning views of Table Mountain. In addition to remarkable beauty, The Gables offers another great benefit in the person of owner Jorje Pringle. It would be hard to imagine a more thoughtful, engaging and well-informed host. Our conversations with Jorje (pronounced as if it were "George") were delightful and educational. If asked, she generously shares her deep knowledge of South African history, culture and botany. Jorje is also a connoisseur of food and wine and gave us some valuable tips re restaurants. We had such a fine time at The Gables that we hope to return for another stay to continue our exploration of Cape Town.
We went to visit our daughter who was studying at the University of Cape Town for the semester. We stayed at The Gables for 10 days. It was an exceptional place to stay. Beautifully appointed, well located and very comfortable. Jorje was welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful - an amazing host. The location was ideal. We had a packed schedule and The Gables provided a lovely, calm home away from home after a busy day. I highly recommend this location and host. Thank you, Jorje, for making our stay a memorable one. We hope to visit Cape Town again one day, and we will surely stay at The Gables again.
My wife and I spent 8 wonderful nights at Jorje’s “Gables” guest house. The place was immaculate and exactly like the photographs. From my very first inquiry, Jorje was extremely helpful and accommodating and got back to me very quickly if I had any questions. Upon our early morning arrival from Europe, she made us a welcoming cup of tea and coffee and provided us a light breakfast. Later that morning, she kindly walked with us to the stunning Kirstenbosch Gardens, which are just a 10 minute stroll from the house. Once we got settled, we soon realized that the guest house is in a perfect location. It’s just 2miles/3 km from several great restaurants such as the “Forresters Arms” pub, “Barristers Grill”, “Rock Sushi Thai”, “Mamma Roma” and a Woolworths grocery store, where we picked up a few provisions. The house itself is situated in a very nice residential area in the foothills of Table Mountain and just a 10-20 mins drive from all of the Cape Town tourist attractions, including the downtown waterfront and the wine lands in Constantia. We could not have had a better place to stay than Jorje’s guest house and we will surely return, if our travels take us back to Cape Town again. If you are planning a visit to Cape Town, then the place to stay is definitely at “The Gables” !
My family and I spent 10 days at The Gables, and wow what a beautiful home and wonderful stay we all had!
I celebrated my 50th birthday in Cape Town and was my very first time in South Africa. Coming back to The Gables after each action packed day and relaxing in this peaceful home was just what we all needed, and more. I will definitely be coming back to stay here.
Thank you Jorje for making our stay so special.
What can I say about this wonderful home and wonderful host, Jorje. My stay here was simply amazing. The care and attention was impeccable, in absolutely everything; from the rooms to the food to the washing, and right up to the wise words and advice from Jorje! Everything was fabulous. I highly recommend this location if you want peace and quite.. coupled with the fact that you are only a 10 minute drive from the centre of Cape Town; a brilliant location and a wonderful experience.
