About the property

The House is in a small gated community near 12th Street and Chicon. There are 8 small houses each with a small side yard and patio area. At the rear of the property is a convenient dog park where you can go when time is tight and you're friend needs to go! Included are a bag dispenser and poopy bags.

My house is the second on the left as you drive in. There is one covered parking spot inside the gate. Street parking is also plentiful.

The location is perfect if you are here and want to enjoy downtown while you look for your own place or if you are here for one of the many conferences and events held in Austin.

Inside you will find a nicely designed living room for watching some TV or reading next to the window. The kitchen is actually perfect for 2! The bedroom has a queen sized bed (hence the 2 occupants) and the bathroom has a tall rain water shower head for the tall and short alike.

Out back there is a fire pit (can also be used as an ice chest in the summer) with 4 chairs. It's covered with a nice shade and a string of lights to make it festive.

Originally from Laredo Texas, I now call Austin my home. Most of the time though, I am a world traveler! In 2016 when I was about to leave the country I was diagnosed with Cancer. The cure was painful but I used my time here to buy a nice place to live and to make it perfect for myself or a couple to live in -- planning to rent it when I was cured. That time is approaching fast. I'm currently testing the waters of making the house a short term rental. I hope you have as much fun as I do when I am home!

Why Marty Trevino chose East Downtown

There are many benefits to this property, not the least of which is it's location. Just blocks from downtown Austin, the house is situated in a small, gated, community in the heart of the best Austin has to offer. Here on the East Side you will find many restaurants and clubs. You'll have easy access to both HI35 and 183 - two of the busiest freeways in Austin. Do you like to ride your bike? There are trails and groups of people who ride them every day. Like to walk for coffee and bagels? Rock Star Bagels is right around the corner. Not far from here there are also plenty of small stores where you can buy practically anything. Want to have a small dinner party? Inside or out, there is plenty of room for a few guests. The fire/ice (your preference) table works as a table. You could even have your own BBQ (charcoal only)!

What makes this house unique

Because I want to keep this house as my own, you will be able to use my Super fast Internet connection to watch TV, work, stream music, etc. I have a decent turntable with a few records if you want to listen to one of the new records you bought in one of Austin's many record stores. Right behind the house is a church and every Sunday around 10am you will be treated to their gospel choir and band. Wanna have brunch with friends? This is the perfect place.

I am a very easy-going and flexible person. If you are here to find yourself a place to live, rent this house without any fee for leaving early (with enough forewarning as you can give me) need to stay an extra couple of days? We can work it out as long as the place is not rented on those days.

Right up the hill on the corner of Northwestern and Rosewood you will see the most beautiful evening view of downtown. If you didn't bring your bike there are plenty for rent just down the street.

Would you like access to my AppleTV? We can work that out if you have an Apple account. You can also use it to watch other stations I have paid for. In addition, I have an antenna that will bring in the 6-10 HD channels that are free over the air.

Care to have some meals to cook without the hassle of going grocery shopping? I can arrange for a Blue Apron Box to be ready for use while you are here. (each box has 3 meals for 2 people).

Things happen! Do you have an extreme situation with the house and don't know who to call? I have family in town that can help out with any home repair, etc.

Last but not least, the place is small and comfy, newly remodeled, with brand new sheets etc. It's a small but beautiful little place with nice neighbors and a perfect spot to take your (small) for those "early morning" walks. The grassy area even has bags and a trash disposal for your convenience.

The house has everything you need from wine glasses to towels - not to mention the public swimming pool and park down the street.

Great location

It was perfect for 2 people. We didn’t spend a lot of time there because we were exploring Austin. It was perfect for us close to everything and it was gated so when we came in late we felt safe not really knowing the area. Coffee shop down the street Fleet Coffee was really good.

Location was fantastic, 10 mins to everything you want to get to 6th Street, East Austin, etc. Marty was great with communication and responding quickly to any questions I had. The rental was as described. Really cute, but no frills.

Tons of charm

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights during the Formula 1 Racing in Austin. The house was perfect for us. Martha "Marty", the owner was awesome. She kept up great communication and made herself readily available if we needed anything. The house is cozy and perfect for 2 people to enjoy comfortably. It is across the street from train tracks, but we hardly heard it. The house is about 10 minutes from downtown which allows you quick access to amenities, but you don't have to deal with the headache and congestion of downtown. There were also a ton of great little eateries and coffee shops within a couple blocks. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Marty!
