The house is gorgeous ! It was very clean and has a terrific layout . Also , you have lots of privacy in the back yard and on the dock . There are restaurants and grocery stores close by . Also , it is close to Mackinaw Island , Harbor Springs and Petoskey , with all their shops and restaurants located there . If family / friends ask , I would definitely advise them to stay here . The owner made you feel very welcome , and was available to solve any problems , but there were none . Overall , we had a wonderful vacation , and are very happy we stayed at this house .
We rented Cottage House with another family while in the area for a wedding. It was just what we needed. Adults had their own rooms and the kids shared the bunk room. Because it is a family house, we had everything we needed. Was very clean and comfortable. The dock and swim platform are just great. Because of the steps, I would not recommend this for toddler-age children, but we had ranges 7-11 and it was fun, especially because the kids can play in the shallow, sandy lake without fear. Also close to area attractions, town and easy access off I-75.
This was our first time renting at this home and I can only say we wish we could have stayed much longer. It's just beautiful with a very north woods feel- big windows and breathtaking view. Fabulous kitchen .
The long dock was ideal for our jetskis and boat. It was just perfect for our family- the mattresses got rave reviews.
The owners were very quick to respond to my questions and were very welcoming.
My family stayed here for a week and we just loved the lake. The house was very clean and comfortable, plus it had all the amenities and a great kitchen so we never felt like eating out. The swim dock was especially nice, since it was so large and private, the kids would literally hang out there all day and most of the evening until dark. There is a separate buoy for boat tie ups that we used for our private boat, and that was easy to access too. I would recommend this property to anyone who has a love for the water, boating, and needs a fun family vacation.
Disappointing. Property is NOT “wheel chair accessible”. There is NO “beachfront” it is a seawall. A “gourmet kitchen” that is NOT conducive to cooking. The “dining area” seats only four at a high bistro table. It was NOT clean and owner’s personal stuff fills the refrigerator, freezer, pantry, bathrooms and closets.
Bottom line, while Burt Lake is lovely, the deck out to the lake is gorgeous and the region is always a great place to spend a week, this property was not a good rental choice and I would not recommend it.
