My husband and I usually try and rent a house on the lake each year. We were thrilled upon our arrival to this home. The home was beautiful and spotless. The kitchen had any and everything you would need during your stay. The bedrooms were a nice size with lots of closet space. The master bedroom was nice and roomy with a walk in closet. You have a great view of the lake from almost every room in the house. You can tell that this house is well cared for by the owner. We actually did not want to leave and we can't wait until next year to return to paradise!
We were looking for a place to spend New Year's with another family and this house was great. There were eight of us including 4 boys ages 3-6. We spend most of our time on the main floor, which was great for socializing due to the open layout and high ceilings. The house was clean, had great views, and plenty of space for the boys to play. When we arrived we found written instructions explaining everything we needed to know AND there was a box of bakery cookies and a "happy new year" banner, which were nice touches. The hot tub was closed, but the boys enjoyed playing in the snow on the deck... and we were able to supervise from the warmth of the inside and with beautiful views!! We used the gas grill, and the kitchen which was well stocked. We didn't use the downstairs bedroom but the downstairs was another great place for the kids to play. The town is a short drive away for any groceries/supplies you might want. We also took a drive to Honeoye Falls to eat one meal and then a little further for an indoor jump house for the kids. All in all, we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Upon arrival we found a meticulously well maintained property with well written instructions as well as notes placed in on light switches, appliances and entertainment devices. The view from inside from the kitchen/dining and living room is wonderful. Location is quiet. Wonderful deck as well as dock and fire pit along the shoreline. We plan on coming back here with more friends in Fall 2016 or 2017 for the fall colors and ability to visit many wineries in the Finger Lakes Region. While Lake Honeoye is small it is much quieter. Great historical restaurants nearby. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were large with great showers. There was a large basket with maps and brochures of wineries, restaurants and activities in the area.
Stayed here with family and friends. House was beautiful but after we left we were charged for damages on things that were already damaged. Highly recommend before you rent to walk through with renters and take pics. The house was beautiful though.
My family spent a week at Twin Pines last summer. We had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful house with a spectacular view of Honeoye Lake and the surrounding hills from a large, raised deck. The lake water was warm – about 80 degrees during most of our stay. Having spent time on some of the other Finger Lakes, which are much deeper and colder, this was a pleasant surprise. Our large family had plenty of room in the house for everyone. We used the attached two-car garage as well as the driveway and lawn across the private road from the house for parking and storing our boat trailer. The small town of Honeoye, which is about a five minute drive from the house, had a small, but surprisingly well stocked grocery store that met most of our needs. For the few items we could not get there, the city of Canandaigua is only about 25 minutes away. There is also a fairly large mall and restaurant area about 30 minutes away near the I-90 exit at Victor. After cooking most of our meals on the large gas grill on the deck, we’d spend the later portion of the evenings in the hot tub.
The only area that was somewhat lacking was the cable TV selection. The cable TV selection was very basic – only about 15-20 channels. That wasn’t a huge problem for us though because we came to the lake to spend time outside and on the water. Several nights we rented movies from the Red Box at the local supermarket.
We are in the process of planning this year’s lake vacation and are deciding which week we will rent this property again.
Honeoye Lake is approximately 4.5 miles long, 1.0 mile across, and @ 30 ft. deep. Since it is relatively shallow, it warms quickly in late Spring and early Summer to average temperatures of 75F-80F. The State boat launch is directly across the lake. Full service marina (Trident Marine) is on the east side of the lake with boat rentals. Harriet Hollister Spencer State Park overlooks the Lake from southern hills. Wesley Hill Nature Preserve, Sandy Bottom Nature Trail, Cummings Nature Center are all nearby. A 15 minute drive to the small village of Naples, NY provides enjoyment at wineries, restaurants, markets, farms and high quality summer stock theatre. Most of your needs can be met in the small town of Honeoye located 5 minutes away: dining & catering, gift shops, grocery store, churches, hair salons, pharmacy, artisan shops, banking, liquor store, bottle & can redemption center.
