About Pam and Scott Lackman

This is our future retirement home and we can't wait to be here full time - two years to go! We have enjoyed the Lewes/Rehoboth Beach area for the last four decades with family and friends and are happy to now own a home here. We currently live and work in the Lehigh Valley Area of Pennsylvania and visit as much as we can to enjoy the beach and the peaceful setting of our home.

Pam and Scott Lackman purchased this house in 2012

Why Pam and Scott Lackman chose Delaware

We love the closeness to the beach, restaurants and shopping but love to come back to our serene setting on Love Creek.

What makes this house unique

When we were looking for our retirement home we fell in love with the mature trees, the private location, the sunsets over Love Creek and our amazing home.

There is nothing like sitting on the flagstone patio in the morning to greet the day and watch the birds come to visit the feeders and watch the ospreys and bald eagles fly over Love Creek. And then at the end of a busy day at the beach, shopping or sightseeing to come back, sit out on the patio and watch the sunset. And because there are no distracting lights, the stars at night are incredible.

Guestbook comments from the owner

You have a beautiful home – we especially enjoyed the birds being the only “life” noise of the week! Thank you for sharing your home.

A relaxing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This is not a typical beach rental. It’s the owners' future retirement home on a premium lot at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet well maintained subdivision. You truly feel like their welcome guests staying here. The backyard is very private as there are many trees with wetlands and Love Creek beyond. We found it very relaxing to sit in the rocking chairs on the flagstone patio enjoying this natural setting. The great room takes advantage of this view with an abundance of windows. It’s a short drive from this home to Lewes or Rehoboth Beach and all the restaurants and stores you’ll need on your vacation. We were here in October and particularly enjoyed hiking the many trails and walking along the beaches in Cape Henlopen State Park. We also visited the nearby Prime Hook and Bombay National Wildlife Refuges along the Delaware Bay to do some bird watching. If you enjoy ocean beaches, wetlands and viewing wildlife then you'll want to enjoy quality time here with family and/or friends. The owners were very professional and helpful in making our rental reservation.

Owner's Response: You have so very kindly highlighted all the reasons that we picked this home to be our retirement home. And until we can be here full time we do love sharing our home with guests that appreciate the charm and appeal of this special place. Thank you so much for your gracious compliments.

Love Creek Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous, one-level home with open floor plan and a rear patio with a privacy and active view of local wildlife: deer, fox, numerous birds, squirrels, etc. House is very well maintained, and lots of garage shelving for storing beach equipment and coolers, etc. Close to Coastal Route 1, local beaches and stores. Very nice pool if one wants to stay within confines of the development. Pam is an easy person to work with and was timely in getting back to us when we had questions prior to our arrival, and she even checked in with us during the week in the event any issues had arisen. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would consider vacationing there again.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean and inviting. It was basically perfect. The back yard was great, we saw deer, cardinals, blue birds, orioles, wood peckers, and squirrels. It was very calm and peaceful. The house had everything; air conditioning, ceiling fans, cable, Netflix, wireless internet, a great kitchen, and great bathrooms.

My mom did not want to leave. The owners were very accommodating. We lost the house key and they had someone bring us another copy and did not charge us for anything.

We were very happy and would definitely stay there again. It is perfect for someone who wants to be right by the beach but doesn't want the loudness and business of staying on the beach.

Owner's Response: We do love our quiet, peaceful location and since we are at the back of the cul de sac, at the end of the development, we don’t see any houses when we sit out on the patio. And it is so great to sit out back and watch the wildlife, you never know what animal or bird will visit. It is so very private yet so very close to all that Rehoboth and Lewes have to offer. We also find it very hard to leave! It is very important to us to maintain a home that is clean and welcoming for our guests and we work hard to maintain that high standard. We are glad to have our efforts appreciated – thank you! And thank you for your very kind review, we are always glad to help when needed!

So welcoming! Relaxing setting and beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

Heading home from vacation is always hard, but we so loved this house making it that much harder. Our group of six teachers decided to forgo our annual Columbus weekend trip to Stone Harbor, NJ and venture out. I stumbled across this lovely home. The owners were delightful to work with and saw to our every need. The house is quite beautiful and impeccably maintained. We so wanted to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful fireplace, relax on the outdoor patio, and cook in the extremely well-equipped kitchen. Hardest of all was saying good-bye to Mo! We were all captivated by his tale. Thank you Pam & Scott for sharing your beautiful home with us. We are quite envious that you will spend many wonderful years in your dream home...but, wish you every happiness. Until then, we hope to have the opportunity to be reunited with Mo and enjoy your hospitality once again.

Owner's Response: Above our fireplace hangs “Mo” the Driftwood Whale. He gets his name in honor of the place where he was found – Moclips, Washington. Mo has been in the family since 1965 and has been around the country quite a lot. He is now happy and settled in retirement, making sure our guests have a wonderful visit to our home. He is pleased to greet our guests each morning and wish you a good night each evening. And he is so very glad that he was able to provide a bit of entertainment for our guests. Thank you so very much for your very kind review - it makes us feel very blessed to have wonderful people enjoy our home.

29th anniversary get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful, relaxing anniversary. The home was beautiful inside and out. The setting was amazing and we enjoyed having breakfast on the patio and watching the birds enjoy the feeders every morning. The home was well appointed with everything you will need. Pam was so great to deal with and definitely is concerned that you enjoy your stay. She even surprised us with a nice bouquet of flowers with a special note for our anniversary. Thank you for a great stay. We will be back again,

Beautiful Vacation Home for a Relaxing Getaway

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I, and my sister and her family (including their two teen girls) stayed at this property during our recent vacation to Rehoboth Beach. This home is beautiful and had all of the amenities for a relaxing vacation! It was within a 10 minute drive to the beach and very close to grocery stores and restaurants. The owners were wonderful to work with and addressed any needs immediately. The home is located in a resort community with tree lined streets, a fishing pier, walking/biking trail and a beautiful pool with lap lanes. We spent several days at the pool which we pretty much had to ourselves - the kids loved it! I would definitely recommend this home if you are looking for a cut above a "normal" beach rental. This is a luxury home that the owners take great care of! We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Rehoboth!!

We strive very hard to make sure all our guests have a five star experience, so we are disappointed that we fell short of that goal in this review. We continue to make the comfort and satisfaction of our guests a priority and will do our best to make sure our guests have a great vacation experience.
