About Judy or Linda

We fell in love with the property the minute we walked in the door. We only regret that we live so far away that we are unable to go there more often. It is our escape to serenity and quiet – away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

Judy or Linda purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Judy or Linda chose Florissant

We love the mountains and the sound of the wind rustling through the trees and watching the remarkable colors of the sunset. Regardless of the season, this retreat is beautiful; in snow, in the fall, in the summer or spring. The changing seasons also bring changes in the wildlife we are apt to see. The bird spotting brings us joy year around.

What makes this cabin unique

It’s quiet and isolation. The wooded 4 acres are secluded and give the feel of being far removed from city life.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This house was perfect for our two families. Master bedroom with spa tub and shower on main floor and den with futon was perfect for us and our teenage son. Bedrooms on lower level were perfect for the other family with two younger kids. Lower level had game room which the kids could use while the adults were upstairs or outside on the deck. Altitude kept the nights cool and slept with windows open enjoying the sounds of nature. Occasionally saw mule deer in the morning. Views from the deck were amazing with mountains in the distance. A little hard to find initially. Wouldn't recommend arriving when its dark.

No outdoor grill due to fire hazard in the area, but didn't even miss it. Cooked in well-equipped kitchen and ate at McGinty's in Divide several times.

Lots of activities closeby. Mueller State Park near Divide has lots of great hiking trails. Took short trip to Buena Vista for rafting. Bonus of beautiful Collegiate Mountain Range with several 14ers and hiking trails along the river there. Used Acquired Tastes Rafting for our trip. Ate an outdoor restaurant in Buena Vista and had desert at a quaint ice cream parlor. Would definitely visit again

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Our family absolutely loved this cabin tucked away in the mountain top. Our favorite part was the beautiful view from the deck. Even prettier than pictures show! We enjoyed watching for the deer and were never let down as we saw them daily. The cabin is beautifully decorated and spacious. Everyone liked the game room as well. If you do make a trip to this area, be sure and check out 11-Mile Canyon. It's a great place to fish and if you love photography as our family does, then you won't be disappointed! Thanks for providing a lovely place to stay.

We had a good time here. The cabin is a short drive to the North Pole, pikes peak, and the royal gorge. Very clean and has many amenities.

It was ok.....have stayed in better

  • 3 of 5

View was amazing! One of the best that we have had amongst our other visits to the area. We were not all that impressed with the over all cleanliness of the cabin. There were cobwebs all over. A cup in the cupboard that had been put away dirty and had a sticky spot of pop inside the cupboard. Felt like I had to wash the dishes etc before I used them. Linens were still wet from the previous people's stay that morning so I was drying them before making the futon. And the comforters I don't believe had been washed as some were dirty so I started to wash them when we checked in. Found a dirty alcohol wipe on the floor in the kitchen. If going to advertise as 4 bedrooms and can fit X amount of people then please have beds that fit people. Full beds is not at all comfortable for 2 adults....and a futon I don't think is really considered a bed. Kids ended up sleeping on couch and the big lounge chair as they were a lot more comfortable. Day we were getting ready to leave we had a German Sheppard dog show up as we were in vehicles leaving. Not sure if friendly (but it barked and ran next to the vehicles at us) but we had little kids running around.....we did however have fun both kids and adults with the game room! Nice cabin just needs updated decor and cleaned better.

Great Home

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay. Enjoyed the wildlife. There was a doe around almost everyday with her two fawns. Also saw a bear on the road while on the road to the cabin.

This cabin is well stocked for small items you may have forgotten to bring.

Beautiful views from the deck. Overall, just a great place.

Great time with long time friends! Property has a great sunset!!! Peaceful and quiet! Property could use a few updates and at least two queen size beds, other than that we enjoyed ourselves immensely! Thank you!

We got to see deer, bear, and even a little coyote. The cabin has an awesome view. It made our vacation very special. It was very relaxing waking up in the morning and sitting on the deck watching for wildlife. The sunsets where breathtaking.
