About the property

Two Story, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bath, on 4 Acres

The oohs and ahhs from the sunsets on the deck with mountain range vistas are surpassed only by the quiet and serenity of this mountain top retreat. The bonus of wild life spotting is a frequent occurrence every season of the year. The entertainment room includes foosball and a full-sized air hockey table.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, full sized refrigerator, and stove top. The great room features a stone fireplace. With two large sliding doors which open to the extra-large deck, the views from this room are unsurpassed. The dining area has a table which seats 6 with 4 stools for counter-seating. Warm weather dining option is on the deck with a umbrella table and chairs.

The Master bedroom on the entry level has a queen sized bed and features a jacuzzi tub and shower in the ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom on that level has a queen sized futon. There is also a powder room on that level.

Downstairs, there are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. The full bathroom downstairs has a tub with a shower. There is a laundry with washer and dryer included.

Central heat includes a humidifier built into the system. Additionally, all bedrooms have a free standing heater. All bedroom windows blinds as well as light blocking shades.

The downstairs entertainment room hosts the foosball table, an air hockey table, mini fridge for drinks, game table and dart board. There is a glider for exercising. In the den, the 26 inch TV has a DVD/CD player and a VHS player hooked up to it. TV reception is limited to one station. No internet set up at the cabin but cell phone reception is decent for internet through your mobile device.

The sites of interest in the area will keep you busy when out and about. You are only 20 minutes away from the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in Divide, Co. Within 45 minutes or closer you will find Garden of the Gods, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Seven Falls, Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad, the North Pole Amusement Park, Cave of the Winds, Cripple Creek with its casinos, the Molly Kathleen Gold Mine, Cripple Creek Train, and more. It’s a short 15 minutes to the Florissant Fossil Beds National Park and Trails. Colorado Springs is 35 miles away where you will find the famous Cheyenne Mountain Park Zoo and many other interesting attractions. The Air Force Academy is approximately 38 miles from the cabin. Breckenridge and Denver are approximately 1 ½ hours away.

The quaint towns of Divide and Woodland Park are home to unique dining options, charming stores, as well as grocery stores, drug stores, a Walmart Supercenter and theatre. Several churches are located in this area as well.

About Judy or Linda

We fell in love with the property the minute we walked in the door. We only regret that we live so far away that we are unable to go there more often. It is our escape to serenity and quiet – away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

Judy or Linda purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Judy or Linda chose South Central Colorado

We love the mountains and the sound of the wind rustling through the trees and watching the remarkable colors of the sunset. Regardless of the season, this retreat is beautiful; in snow, in the fall, in the summer or spring. The changing seasons also bring changes in the wildlife we are apt to see. The bird spotting brings us joy year around.

What makes this cabin unique

It’s quiet and isolation. The wooded 4 acres are secluded and give the feel of being far removed from city life.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This house was perfect for our two families. Master bedroom with spa tub and shower on main floor and den with futon was perfect for us and our teenage son. Bedrooms on lower level were perfect for the other family with two younger kids. Lower level had game room which the kids could use while the adults were upstairs or outside on the deck. Altitude kept the nights cool and slept with windows open enjoying the sounds of nature. Occasionally saw mule deer in the morning. Views from the deck were amazing with mountains in the distance. A little hard to find initially. Wouldn't recommend arriving when its dark.

No outdoor grill due to fire hazard in the area, but didn't even miss it. Cooked in well-equipped kitchen and ate at McGinty's in Divide several times.

Lots of activities closeby. Mueller State Park near Divide has lots of great hiking trails. Took short trip to Buena Vista for rafting. Bonus of beautiful Collegiate Mountain Range with several 14ers and hiking trails along the river there. Used Acquired Tastes Rafting for our trip. Ate an outdoor restaurant in Buena Vista and had desert at a quaint ice cream parlor. Would definitely visit again

Great cabin + Good location = Great trip!

  • 5 of 5

Cabin had everything we needed for our stay. Well equipped. Enjoyed the views and sitting on the deck. Isolated although there's another cabin about a hundred yards away. Very peaceful though. Do have to drive a little to get to places around Colorado Springs but not far from everything we wanted to do. Would definitely stay here again.

fishing extravaganza!

  • 5 of 5

We fished for three days and enjoyed coming back to this very comfortable cabin at night. We had planned our meals and it was a very well equipped kitchen for all to use. We didn't need the fireplace but it was a nice bonus in case we did. Bedroom set up fit us perfectly and our 3 year old granddaughter became pretty proficient at air hockey in the game room. She enjoyed playing all the games with her aunts and uncles. The view from the deck was stunning with deer passing by in the morning. It was nice to have a washer and dryer for those of us who fell in the creek! Little cafe down at the corner of town had great coffee and pastries!

White Christmas!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was a last minute decision to visit Colorado for Christmas - Linda and Judy were most helpful with the booking. We arrived with a generous foot of snow on the ground, the driveway was freshly plowed for our arrival. Initial impressions were that the cabin was fantastic, it is very spacious, and the photographs do not do it justice. Upstairs was warm and inviting with a wood fire place in the main lounge, with a master and den also on this level. Downstairs offers 2 bedrooms and a large games room where we had several family competitions on the air hockey table. The cabin then delivered on Christmas morning, where we woke to snowfall until about lunchtime. As for a review, the beds are comfy, the cabin is clean, warm, spacious and inviting, and the location is perfectly secluded, but not far from Florisant or Woodland Park should you forget something. I hope you enjoy as much as our family did.

Owner's Response: We aprreciate your review - we love our cabin home. We feel as if we're there when reading all that you've enjoyed while visiting. We enjoy being there in the snow as well - but the beauty of the other seasons is also a treat. Thank-you

Escape from Houston

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at the cabin in early August for 9 nights. We weren't familiar with the area or the reality company, so we were a little apprehensive, but there were no surprises, other than good ones. The cabin is as advertised with a wonderful view from the large porch, and is equipped with most everything you would need. We even tried our hands at a few spirited games of air hockey in the downstairs game room. The cabin location is fairly private, which was important to us . . . I don't think we heard a single vehicle drive on the road past the cabin during our stay. Jack, the neighbor dog, did stop by on a couple of occasions wagging his tail and wanting attention. The cabin is also a great jumping off place for all the wonderful sights in the region (Pikes Peak, Cripple Creak, Royal Gorge, etc.), and is not that long of a long drive to Colorado Springs. We would definitely stay here again (and may very well do so next summer).

My friend and I and our kids were very pleased with our 3 night stay at this home. The cabin was beautiful inside and out, everything was clean and well stocked. The setup was perfect for two different families staying together- -the warmer upstairs for them and the cooler lower level for us that seemed nothing like a basement. Has good roads to get there, would just recommend that your first direction you give would be to turn at the Thunderbird Inn. After that, all directions made sense. Property managers were pleasant and easy to work with as well. We will stay here again!
