Overview

About the property

Toddy Haven, a perfect home away from home to discover the wonders of Maine.

A charming cottage is situated on 1.5 acres set amongst evergreen trees just 100 feet from the shore. Enjoy cooking fresh Maine lobster and blueberry pie in a full kitchen, or grill in the open air on a gas grill while experiencing the sun setting over the pond. The cottage dining area with cathedral ceiling and lighted fan is a comfortable place to eat while others gather to play games on the lakeside alcove of the dining room. The living room is the perfect place to sit and relax after a day of adventure in Acadia or kayaking right on the pond, while you watch your favorite program on a 55" 4K Chromecast flatscreen with Sling TV. Listening to the loon calls from the screened in porch gives a sense of tranquility any time of day.For chilly evenings, a propane heating unit will cozy the entire cottage right up. Rest comfortably on a new king sized bed in the lakeside bedroom. There is a double/twin bunkbed in the second bedroom, and a twin bunkbed in the detached bunkhouse. There is a 3/4 bathroom as well.

The cottage has been renovated and is extremely clean. A new fresh water well was installed in 2016 for your convenience, so reliance on lake water is unnecessary. A new septic system was also installed in 2017 and most of the interior furnishings are brand new.

Guests have private access to the lake as well as to kayaks.

Toddy Haven is the perfect home away from home while you discover the wonders of coastal Maine.

About Mark and Laurie Fowler

Mark is an entrepreneur, professor, minister, husband, and proud father. After living overseas for 14 years in Ecuador, we returned to our home state of Maine. Mark likes to sail, fish, play racket ball and is on a billiards team. Laurie is a musician, writer, wife and devoted mother. She likes to read, hike, garden and cook. We enjoy going out to new restaurants, sight seeing, traveling, going to movies and concerts together. Our favorite destinations to date have been Mexico and Italy, and we look forward to visiting the British Isles one day. We have been married for almost 39 years and have 4 children who have all flown the coop but come around every so often with our four grandchildren; all to our great delight!

Mark and Laurie Fowler purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Mark and Laurie Fowler chose MidCoast and Penobscot Bay

Though situated just 7/10s of a mile off Route 1, it is such a peaceful and secluded spot here. The lake is deep and clean and the fishing is great. Nearly every evening and morning, loons can be heard gently calling across the water.

What makes this cottage unique

Though secluded, it is really close to so many of the sights people from all over the world come to visit.

Lovely and accommodating owners - fully equipped kitchen, games, books, kayaks, fire pit, comfy beds, dock - everything one could need to take full advantage of all Maine has to offer.

We hope to visit again!

Great cottage near Acadia and Bar Harbor

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Toddy Haven. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. The lake is very clean and warm. We stayed 9 days and made day trips to Acadia and Schodic peninsula 4 or 5 times. Kayaks were great! We enjoyed wild blueberries and bagels that Mark and Laurie gave us upon our arrival! Thank you Mark and Laurie!

Close to many destinations, new furnishings

  • 5 of 5

The locations was perfect for all the places we wanted to visit. Almost equal distance from Bar Harbor, Belfast, and Bangor. Also close to Sandy Beach and Lincolnville Beach, which our young kids loved. Toddy Pond is tranquil and beautiful. We did some kayaking and fished off our little private beach area.

The camp was very clean with all new furniture, a big TV and our bed was comfortable. We were happy with everything and plan to stay again. Thank you!
