Charming and fully renovated unit is now available for your enjoyment! Designer/owner has completed 3 month remodel and is certain that it will become your favorite St. Paul rental. Ideal location - on Historic Grand Hill, Grand Ave just steps south, and Summit Ave directly north. Shop and dine on Grand Ave and then stroll those calories away on Summit Ave while you are taken away by the architecture and grandeur of century old mansions. Bikes can be rented one block away if you prefer to two-wheel it.

This one bedroom retreat has everything you need with attention to comfort and style. New bamboo floors, walls, kitchen, bathroom, and furnishings. Additionally, you also get the use of the front porch for those summer moments of relaxation and people watching! I also operate/own VRBO #373111, another one bedroom unit, literally next door - so I am an involved and accessible part of my guest's stay should needs arise. This home was purchased because it it literally next door to where I live and was in need of some loving! Can't think of another property so easy to keep an eye on and manage than addition I was having to turn people away due to being booked with #373111. People LOVE this area and are telling friends; time for another unit :)

Property was true to the website photos, very neat, nicely decorated and fit my needs perfectly. Walking around the neighborhood was a treat--absolutely beautiful homes! Coffee shops and restaurants are just a short walk away. I would definitely stay again.

Charming apartment in nice neighborhood

My sister and I came to the twin cities for a family reunion. We were delighted with our very comfortable stay at Stacey's apartment. Although it is an old building, the apartment is nicely updated. There were two window A/C units and a fan available, which made it very pleasant . Stacey was thoughtful to turn on the A/C prior to our arrival to ensure our comfort. We really appreciated that. The location was excellent, in a quiet neighborhood despite its proximity to a busier street. Maybe due to the A/C units running, we didn't notice traffic noise at all. Our only problem was trying to use the DVD player. We were unsuccessful after several attempts and calls to Stacey. This was disappointing because we had a Family history DVD to watch before our reunion and we were unable to view it. A suggestion would be to have TV and DVD directions clearly written out for guests. Fortunately we were not planning on watching a lot of TV but could have been a problem for some guests. Stacey was great at answering any questions we texted her.We appreciated the Caribou coffee that was available. I enjoyed reading in the morning on the porch. A highlight of this location is walking around the neighborhood and seeing the lovely homes in the area. I would definitely recommend this location for your visit to St. Paul.

Great space!

We stayed in this and the upper floor unit for 3 nights. What a beautifully renovated space! The main floor apartment is spacious and cozy. We wanted for very little. Location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from restaurants and bars, shopping, and more. The neighborhood is stunning and we always felt safe! The property is very pet friendly and the owner had fantastic communication! Thanks so much!

Good enough place.

We were impressed with the central Saint Paul location, the lovely old house, the fit and finish of the carpentry, and the nice airy feeling of the upstairs apartment. Stacey Johnson phoned me the day after we moved in to check on us. Everything was good except (see below). The apartment was pet friendly and the neighborhood was great for walking our small dog around the block. I will recommend this property to others with the following caveat.

Beware if your plans change! Stacey was not willing to reduce our stay by one night, so we ended up paying for three nights but staying only two. To be fair, she did tell us up front when we asked her, but we were under the impression we could stay for as few as two nights. She told us that per policy it was three minimum during the time we stayed. At the rather high price we paid, some sort of adjustment could have been made, but no. And that's why I gave this lovely place only three stars. Oh yes, I must add that Stacey offered to make the third night of our stay available to another renter and she offered to refund the cost of our third night in that eventuality. I didn't take her up on that offer and I don't remember why. Okay. Maybe I was too strict. Four stars. I'd have given her five stars in a heartbeat if she would have offered us even $50 back on that third night when we were not there.

Stacey was quite pleasant and attentive to our needs. Our grandson did freak out when the bathroom doorknob came off in his hand when he tried to open the door, but that may have been a simple matter of it needing tightening with a screwdriver.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and feedback Daniel. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the area. Yes, as stated in my rental policy and online there is a three night minimum during busy season (May-Sept.) which is fairly standard. When I was new in the business a long time ago I allowed two night rentals and what happened was fridays and Saturdays would get booked and the rest of the remaining week would be open. Potential guests would call requesting a 5-7 night stay comprising a weekend and there would be nothing to offer them, thus losing that nice revenue. This 3 night policy seemed a happy medium to offer shorter stays yet not fall victim to my earlier experiences. I hope you understand and will choose to stay again at 561 Grand Hill :) Stacey
