Overview

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 3

New to the rental market, this charming cottage at the beginning of the proposed "Wild and Scenic" Molalla River Corridor is the perfect retreat for those seeking a romantic getaway, fly fishing adventure or home base for exploring the area's nearby numerous attractions.

Molalla River Cottage is cozy and bright, tastefully decorated and offers a pleasant respite for those seeking peaceful relaxation in a beautiful rural setting. Entering the front door you will find a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare your own meals if desired. As you walk through the kitchen you will find the open living room with gas burning fireplace and hardwood floors. There is a comfy daveno, chairs and day bed for lounging or sleeping. Cozy togetherness awaits whether you choose to relax with a good book or enjoy a movie or music on the DVD player.

This cottage features one large bedroom with queen bed on the opposite end of the house and full bathroom with shower only ( no tub). This getaway is a single level floor plan for those with limited mobility although there are a few steps to the front porch and a step down to the living room. The back porch provides a peaceful place to relax by the creek on a warm and sunny summer day or a BBQ on the gas grill in the evening. While guests cannot bring their own dogs, there are friendly dogs that live near this home, so if there is a pet allergy in your group, keep that in mind.

Perhaps the most appealing feature of this lovely cottage is easy access via a short marked trail through meadow/pasture to the beautiful Molalla River. The trail leading to the river is slightly steep at the end. The river changes with the seasons and the cottage owners provide a lovely sitting area by the river with fire pit for quiet reflection. The river can have strong currents at different times of the year and caution is advised when swimming, fishing, rafting, etc. Renters are advised to check on local conditions and any necessary licenses for fishing, etc.

Sweet Creek Cottage provides a cozy and comfortable stay within easy access of the Molalla River Corridor, Hardy Creek trail system, (horses and mountain bikes, hiking), and the Table Rock Wilderness Area. A drive along this scenic waterway reveals numerous waterfalls and geological features. This charming cottage is a 1 hour drive from Portland, 15 miles from the historic town of Silverton, where you will find the beautiful Oregon Garden and just 7 miles from the rural town of Molalla where full services are provided: groceries, restaurants, medical services, gas, etc.

Molalla is also home of the world famous "Molalla Buckeroo" and Parade during the 4th of July holiday season, professional bull riding events, world class sky diving, city parks, and historic sites. Easy access to numerous sites of interest, rural beauty, and the Molalla River make this retreat a great choice for an active getaway or a quiet and peaceful time of rest and relaxation.

About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Quiet and secluded

 • 5 of 5

If you're looking for peace, quiet and solitude, this is the place for you! Well off the beaten path, and hidden away in the woods with the sounds of the river. It's not far back to "civilization" - we spent our days sightseeing, antiquing and wine tasting, and nothing was really too far of a drive. It's on the smallish side, better suited to a couple than a family, but it was perfect for what we wanted. One note, if you're going with a vacation rental in order to do your own meals, the kitchen wasn't as well equipped as some that we've stayed at. It wasn't bad, had all the basics, but there weren't any lids for the pots and pans, no collection of spices, condiments, oils, or things like foil, baggies or plastic wrap. I brought along my own spices, which is what I'd recommend. Overall, the cottage is very cute and charming, and we greatly enjoyed the week we stayed there.

Wonderful family getaway

 • 5 of 5

I chose this location for a family getaway. Loved that it was a bit more remote than being in town and the lack of cell service was actually a plus! A chance to unplug and unwind.

Stunning get-away!!

 • 5 of 5

Beautiful in every way. We stayed in the fall, and the changing leaves, wet climate, and amazing river in the backyard were everything we could have hoped for and more. Not far from Portland for day trips, but far enough to feel secluded and at peace.

Pleasant Place to Stay

 • 4 of 5

The living room is well lit and comfortable; the daybed made a great place to read with lots of natural light coming in. We used the gas fireplace to warm the room up in the morning.

The bed was comfortable.

The kitchen had what was needed for the few meals we made there.

The owners live right next door and don't want smoking either in the home (fine with us) but also not on the property as well (not so fine).
