My family & I have enjoyed this cabin since 2001. We've spent the summers teaching our children and their friends about the lake, boating, and how to ski. Now they're grown and we would like for other families to enjoy our home and Lake Hartwell.

It was totally relaxing and enough room for all of us. The lake is beautiful and very tranquil.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back during the summer months. Our family is very close and loved having time to just relax and enjoy being together. The cabin is close enough to beautiful scenery in all directions.

My husband and I have stayed many times in this cabin because it is a great place to unplug and unwind from our days and our businesses that demand our attention. I am glad to say that it is a place that we can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings without other people a wall away and we can also bring our four legged children. I prefer the homelike atmosphere to the generic place of hotels where everything is the same and we are under the same roof with many other people. Also, I enjoy the peace and quite I get while sitting on the porch or out by the water in the sun. A great place to get away from it all and enjoy the homelike atmosphere that it offers.

Quaint Lake Cabin Family Time

  • 4 of 5

My family enjoyed a relaxed, quiet vacation in this comfortable roomy cabin that is nestled in a wooded lot by the lake. The exterior is a bit plain, but the inside is beautifully updated and filled with pretty and comfortable furniture. The three bedrooms are all located on the main floor which makes it easily accessible for anyone not wanting to negotiate steps. It made it very easy to move your things right in to your room or kitchen. There is a loft that has to futons that could be used for extra guests. Having 2 full baths was helpful. Each bedroom had a TV and there is a nice large flat screen tv in the living room. We enjoyed the screened-in porch that overlooks the lake. The walk down to the lake was an easy, gentle walk. The covered boat dock provided shade if we needed it. For evenings when we did not feel like cooking, we found good restaurants nearby. We were also able to rent a pontoon boat on two days for a better lake experience. The owner, Fran , sent an email with maps, directions, and suggestions that was very helpful.

What a lake house should be

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Fran Sullivan's lake house. Fran gave us excellent information prior to our arrival. Fran's house was clean, roomy and comfortable, and was clearly well maintained. The grandsons loved the loft with futons, perhaps as a place to escape from the adults. We all spent a lot of time on the large screened porch for talk and games, and just looking out over the quiet cove. To help celebrate a birthday we drove the short distance to Lavonia (on I-85) for an excellent meal at a new restaurant (J-Peters). After a long day of skiing and tubing we gassed up and purchased drinks at a nearby marina (Harbor Lights ?). We were happy that Fran had a covered dock to keep our boat and gear dry during two showers. We will return: we can recommend this property without reservations.

Great family-friendly cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at Fran's cabin. Her communication and the information provided prior to our trip were extremely helpful. The price for the location is perfect. The house is cozy, clean, and you couldn't ask for a better porch or dock to relax on. I was a little concerned because this rental allows pets - but was pleasantly surprised that the house didn't smell like pets at all! Fran responded quickly to any emails we sent and she refunded our deposit in record time. Thanks for a great stay, Fran!

Not very pleased

  • 2 of 5

Was not very please with home as soon as we walked through the door. Very musty smelling. Carpets in bedrooms had big stains, along with bedspreads also. Plenty of room for sleeping, but very hard to sleep after finding a few dead Cock Roaches, along with some very Live ones. Really couldn't sleep after that. Suppose to take garbage out, but Robo-Can was packed to the top, luckily nice neighbor let us use his. Toilet seat in one bathroom would not stay up when my grandsons tried to go to bathroom. Kept slamming shut. Not the first home we rented through this site that was a disappointment.

Owner's Response: I hate it that you did not have a good experience at the cabin. I was unaware of how bad the carpet was and was unaware of the stained sheets. I took care of both of those things two weeks ago. As to the bugs, the cabin is sprayed frequently but it is in the woods and there are critters but I will have my service come in this week. Thanks for letting me know.
