Four bedroom log cabin
on 3400 acre lake between Detroit Lakes and Park Rapids. New features include central air, water conditioning system, refrigerator with water and ice, wood floor and dishwasher. Two family rooms with satellite TV. Two bathrooms. Fishing boat (17 ft alumacraft with 35 hp johnson motor, trolling motor, depth finder, live well, rated for 6 people) and kayak included. Indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit for those moonlight summer nights. Nearby sandbar for volleyball, water games and swimming. Located between Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes for great restaurants, golfing, shopping and entertainment.
We purchased this log home to get away from city living, rejuvinate and focus on the more important things in life...FUN! We did not notice the noise at our main home until we experienced the quiet of the hummingbirds, singing birds and the lack of traffic.
This lake is a best kept secret. Great fishing, wonderful sandbar for swimming/volleyball and very few boats to compete with for waterskiing/tubing.
We just returned from spending a nice long weekend at this beautifully decorated cabin. Great care has given to every detail with this property. Enjoyed a very nice welcome basket with our kids favorite snacks and beverages (adult too) awaiting us in the refrigerator with a nice welcome note from the owners. Despite a severe hail storm and loosing power within 2 hours of our arrival we loved it. Owners were concerned and kept us updated on power outage and repairs being done. We had thorough contact with the owners before, during and after our trip there. This property is located on a beautiful lake and our teenage boys loved the fishing boat that was included. Our son was up at 5:30 and out fishing each morning. Caught a total of 35 Northern Pike and 1 bass during our 5 day stay. We lost some outdoor time due to heavy rain and storms, but that was out of everyones hands. The cabin is well equipped with many DVD's and books. Ample linens, towels and pillows. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Many cast iron pans to fry up your fish in. Dishwasher was appreciated as well as the washer and dryer. The basement had a bit of a basement odor despite spraying an odor eliminator. It seemed to help the basement living room area by running the A/C. Basement bedrooms are very dark with small basement type windows. The property is located on somewhat of a hill. Drive down from the gravel road to the cabin and garage then down another hill to reach the dock and lake. We had no issues, but some may depending on ambulation ability and strength. Loved the extra toys such as the paddle boat that seats 4 and the single kayak that my husband proceeded to flip over right when he climbed in. Needless to say he got drenched and so did his clothes, glasses, shoes and cell phone. We all had a great laugh! What a fun memory. They supplied ample amount of cut firewood and we were able to enjoy a fire in the firepit several of our dry nights. Fun to look at the stars on the clear night. I do have to say, the property is a bit off the beaten path. Approx 5 miles on gravel road. Nearest Walmart is about a 30 minute drive to Park Rapids. Osage is about 10-15 minutes away, we got gas, our fishing licenses and worms there. Didn't seem too out of line for prices compared to Park Rapids. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Owners are very gracious and thoughtful and were available whenever we needed by phone or text. You won't go wrong!
It was a memory maker for sure! We started out with beverages on the deck and a falling star. Then another falling star..it was a meteor shower far from the glare of city lights. I think that’s when we fell under the spell of “Up North”. Loons calling and the big dipper hanging over the lake. We turned off the inside & outside decorative lights and the stars appeared to be just out of reach. Amazing. In the morning, coffee on the deck with greetings from several hummingbirds; up close and personal. Awesome. Seeing my elderly yellow lab take a lap around the boat dock like a puppy, something he hasn’t done in years, resulted in misty eyes. Then a quick rinse with the garden hose & he gave a full body shake. I’m soaked..misty eye cover-up. That night as we sat around the campfire, there was a storm passing to the south of us with flashing lightning and the faint rumble of thunder. Nature's fireworks. These are just a few of the memories we took home. That’s “Up North”! We really had a super get-away! Thanks so much!
Such a clean cabin and we'll kept cabin. Fishing was great, with lots of northern pike. I was there in the winter with -34 weather and still the fishing was good. I'm looking forward to coming up this summer. There is also a wonderful view of the lake from the cabin.
I found this to be a great get away. The fishing was great and the views at dust and dawn were amazing. I also really enjoyed the walking trails and paths in the area near the cabin and the how welcoming and friendly everyone was in the area. Looking forward to going back again.
We stayed here as a family and absolutely LOVED it. It was very nice and quiet with easy access to the lake. There was a large yard with lots of room to play and hang out. Also has a nice outdoor fire pit for evening campfires.
Inside was in great shape! Very clean and recently updated. Would definaitly stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for that nice lake cabin retreat!!
I have never experienced such a serene location as I did here on our vacation. We experienced beautiful sunsets while boating, wonderful bird watching, great swimming at the sand bar and unbelievable fishing. The breeze off the lake was calming and cooling. The sleeping arrangements are very accommodating and clean! The heated marble floor in the basement bathroom was a wonderful surpise. It was also very helpful to have the owners so available and willing to answer any question when we needed it. The four wheeling trails are in close proximity which was helpful. This was such a great vacation spot and the price was right. We will definitely be returning!
Easy access to miles of ATV/snowmobile trails.
