Sip your morning coffee on our 52 foot deck that overlooks panoramic pastoral scenery and beyond to the blue ocean water.
Or stroll the four minute walk from our home to the beach...and what a beach! Wander the 'singing sands' for miles as the tide roles past your toes.
Nearby Basin Head Provincial Park has been named the #1 beach in Canada and is located just five minutes from blueSKYdays! .
After years of renting in the area we made the leap to purchase a cottage in the fall of 2012. As avid travelers, having visited nearly every niche of the globe we still love the annual pilgrimage to PEI for a relaxing time on the beach, enjoying great food, drink and friends and family.
Jeff purchased this house in 2012
Jeff grew up on this beach. So it was only natural that Colleen joined him after they met and she soon realized what a special place it was. When Samuel and Vénel came along they were welcomed into the Red Point beach culture! And now we try to introduce as many of our 'away' friends as possible to this great little secret.
We loved the 'Caribbean' feel to the cottage. The bright open space and soft colouring's just scream out, 'Relax!' when you walk in. Just what we were looking for in a place to get away from our busy lives on the 'main land'. Nearby great dining, world's finest oysters, fresh seafood, fish, and vegetables certainly add to the enjoyment. Not to mention the amazing beach....
"Our friends have taken us to a really great place! We loved it so much. We loved it so much and we really feel like staying at home in your very comfortable and beautifully furnished and decorated cottage...we will never forget the great view!..."
Thanks for the obvious effort to make the stay excellent. The location is perfect with good beach access and the cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We highly recommend this rental.
We came here for some R&R, hiking and geocaching since PEI is a mecca for geocachers with 5000+ caches on the island. It was a fantastic way to explore the island and find gorgeous scenery and coves off-the-beaten path. We had a mixed bag of weather including some cold rainy days but also many warm sunny days that found us on the deck in shorts and tees soaking up the sun.
Best of all was this wonderful cottage we were privileged to call 'home' during our stay and it's peaceful location with beautiful views! We were SO impressed with how CLEAN it was; I don't think I've ever stayed in a place so nice and clean. We really, really appreciated that! The kitchen was very well-equipped and organized. Since they provided scrubbies, we could make sure the pans we used could be scrubbed clean. (Don't you hate those sticky pans in rental places?! :)) The beds were very comfortable and the living room well set up for lounging and enjoying the great media system. It was the perfect place for our fall hiking vacation. Jeff was great to deal with and we appreciated the welcome gift of a bottle of wine and coffee pods for the Espresso machine! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and would love to return someday!!
This beautiful cottage was enjoyed by my family tremendously. It is just as advertised and pictured, accomodating 5 of us in comfort - but the best part was the helpfulness and graciousness of the owners. They set us up extraordinarily well for our stay, both with information and equipment. We were lucky enough to be there for, and participate in, the Souris Feast - a local community dinner supporting cook houses in Kenya, along with the Souris foodbank. While there was enough sightseeing to keep us well occupied, we certainly felt relaxed to enjoy the beach and just read books. And this is a rare pleasure for our group! Everyone enjoyed making the sands sing, and while the water was cold enough that no one swam deeper than their ankles, we did see a whale breaching one evening at the nieghbouring Basin Head Beach! 500 metres to walk to the Red Point beach stairs, and then about 25 steps down ( obviously, up to go home). This helped us compensate for all the seafood we ate - easily accessible and with local expertise readily offered. The lobster shack in Souris offers Colveville Bay oysters, and is run by family members of the business owners - and gave great service and advice. Similarly, the women who ran the local seafood shop were happy to share their family recipes. Our time at this rental helped us all fall a little in love with PEI. We look forward to when we can return.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this incredible well-decorated and equipped rental. We arrived in the middle of a tropical storm after a very long drive-- the owners parents greeted us with emergency supplies (flashlights, batteries and bottled water) in case of a loss of electricity. There were so kind and welcoming, and the house was just beautiful. Everything is new, nicely coordinated and you really felt like you were staying in a high-end spa retreat. The location is a short walk to the beautiful red clay beaches, and a short drive to many other local attractions. The owners could not have been more accommodating and helpful in sharing information about the home and local attractions. I would whole-heartedly recommend this location and we would return if it wasn't so far away! A great vacation exploring PEI for the first time. An added bonus-- only 2 miles down the road is an amazing fish shop to buy a variety of just-caught fish (including PEI mussels!)
Delightful cottage with fresh, pretty decor. Overlooks the sea and is minutes to some of the best beaches in the world. Cottage owners friendly, helpful and accommodating.
