The bar scene not your thing? Forgo the raucous and escape to a more relaxing spot on the very private and exclusive property known as the North Shores. Privacy and sweet solitude is top priority. You won’t see crowds here, only an occasional Great Blue Heron, as you are a few steps from the water. Enjoy sunrise and sunset watching. If you find yourself in the mood for a tad more action, downtown is only a mile away.
The first thing you see when you enter the home is the fabulous view of the lake, unassuming, barefoot appeal, keeping all of the spaces light and playing up the connection to the outdoors. Outfitted in soothing tones of blue and white. Totally remodeled with beachy, yet cozy, elegant interiors.
The North Shore house has a real heart to it. This beautifully furnished, three bedroom, two full bath home features an open and spacious floor plan which is ideal for enjoying unforgettable views from every angle. The kitchen is open plan with a large island and comes fully stocked with all the appliances you might need for an instant meal to a family feast.
The light and airy guest bedrooms have been configured with a king bed, queen bed and two twin beds. The bedrooms are located adjacent to a full guest bathroom with shower. A flat screen television with DVD player and Direct Satellite TV can be found in the armoire of the master bedroom with full private bathroom and shower. Fresh towels and linens provided.
The light and open family room provides an entertainment system for all ages. For an occasional rainy day, the family can kick back, relax and take in the 46” flat screen television with Direct Satellite TV to view many of your favorite sporting events. Complimentary wireless Internet provided to guests.
Unique summertime outdoor views reveal both sunrise and sunsets from the beach. The fire pit allows for roasting marshmallows or a little extra warmth in the evening. The 1+ acre grounds provides room for a competitive game of volleyball or a relaxing game of corn hole. Enjoy eating outside while taking in the park-like setting and beautiful lake views.
For a whole new lease on life, consider North Shores.
We are a family that loves to be on or near the water. We love to swim, kayak, jet ski and boat. We also enjoy sharing our favorite spot with family and friends.
Rick Gilhart purchased this house in 2008
We love Put-In-Bay! The location of our property on a very private drive, on the quiet side of the island, allows for a relaxing yet fun-filled getaway. The fantastic selection of restaurants and pubs are just a mile away.
There is no other property on the island with the unique characteristics of the North Shores. Sunrise/sunsets, swimming/fishing off the beach, sailing/boating, yet very private!
This property is really awesome, so relaxing, an amazing location, top of the line house with everything you could need, roomy so comfortable , yet private. Couldn't have asked for anything more, will definitely go back and since have recommended Rick's property to many friends and neighbors. Our family so enjoyed our stay there and wished we could have stayed longer. It was fun going into town to see all the entertainment, food and souvenir shops, but we really loved knowing when we hopped back in the golf carts, we could retreat back to a wonderful and beautifully put together home . Thank you so much Rick, Denise, and kids for sharing your amazing PIB home!

This was by far the most beautiful and comfortable place that we have stayed at PIB. It is luxury without being stuffy. You feel welcome and comfortable, relaxed. Everything is topnotch. You must love peace, quiet, tranquility. It is a close golf cart ride away to downtown. For those who like walking, it's 15-20 minute walk.
Rick is so easy to work with about accommodations and answering questions. The property is better than the pictures. And spotlessly clean, but I suspect that is because, in part, everyone who has rented the house has done their part to help keep it that way. Every renter has appreciated what a find this is. A real gem.
Rick and Denise a big thanks for sharing your lovely home.

What a beautiful place for our girls getaway! The owner was attentive & helpful, though gave us our space & privacy. Abundance of windows for a beautiful view of the water. Quiet, secluded location, though just a quick golf cart ride to town. Comfortable beds, tastefully decorated, all you need for a relaxing stay. Exactly what we hoped for, and more. Highly recommended.
My family stayed at this house the week of July 4th and had the best experience possible. The house is newly renovated with new appliances, beds and furnishings. The house was extremely clean when we checked in. It has a beautiful back yard right up to the water. Rick is very hospitable and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed including firewood for a fire pit out back and gave us access to his family's kayaks and corn hole boards. This house is located on a private street and very quiet yet only less than a mile from town. I would highly recommend staying here for a great experience on Put-In-Bay.
Look no further for accommodations on South Bass Island. In my opinion, this is the only place to stay! Pleasant and accommodating owners with historical ties to South Bass offer a stylish home with casual elegance. Furnishings & appliances are premium and lodging is superior. Large cast aluminum dining table & chairs enable a large family to dine outdoors in addition to spacious indoor dining. The acreage provides a great space for lawn games & outdoor activities. There is a fabulous lakeside fire pit to enjoy in the evenings. Plenty of Adirondack chairs line the concrete boardwalk along the shoreline. Just past the boardwalk is a clean rock shoreline and moorings for personal watercraft. It's a great place to launch your kayaks. You can paddle the nearby protected cove or have easy access to big water. The lake views are fabulous from indoors and outdoors. The property is secluded and quiet....a private oasis away from the hustle & bustle of downtown. Our stay was during the Battle of Lake Erie Re-Enactment & Bicentennial Celebrations. Tall Ships quietly sailed past the house as they made way to the Erie Tall Ships Festival. Relaxing lakeside in the Adirondack chairs was wonderful! Overall, this is a fabulous place to vacation. The home is comfortable & pleasant to stay in and it offers great opportunities to serve meals & cocktails. The outdoors offers everything that you want in a summer getaway.
We rented this home the week of 7/1/2013 thru 7/8/2013 to celebrate my middle daughters college graduation. this home is everything and more! it is close to the monument and center of town to walk or easy drive, yet it is on a private lane right on the lake! All the amenities are there and if you need anything else the owners will not hesitate to get it if possible. The most amazing part of this was meeting the owners of the property. These are the type of folks you want to rent from and know. Since we plan to rent this property again we ask you to treat this home as you would treat your own. We would hate to see it misused. Great for families looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway!
