Gem in San Francisco!

We are from South Africa and visited San Francisco for one week. I will highly recommend this 2-floor private apartment. It exceeded all expectations - the dining and living room are huge and you hardly expect this when you rent an apartment. What a pure pleasure it was to stayt here for 7 days. It was private, comfortable, charming and equipped with a good quality and comfortable bed.

The owner, Rob was very friendly and offered to assist should we need it. The apartment is very conveniently located, and you can walk to muni transport to take a train downtown, or you can get a cab or uber. West Portal neighborhood (walking distance) by itself was charming with boutique shops, wine store, authentic Mexican, Greek, and Italian restaurants. Tower Market is an upscale grocery store is also within walking distance.

We checked in very late at night due to flight delays and the next morning we were so happy because the owners placed milk, coffee, bread, fruit and even a bottle of wine in our room! We all want a good cup of coffee when we wake up after a long travel. Thanks Bob and Jackie what a warm San Francisco welcome.

We will be back next year!

Excellent home rental

We travelled from Scotland and were very happy with the standard of the accommodation. The photos did not do justice to what was on offer. The welcome pack was the best we have come across and we have rented properties in several countries. A very good base to explore San Francisco from either by car,foot or public transport. The location was very quiet for a large city and felt very safe walking around the neighbourhood. We would recommend the property to anybody looking for a "home from home" while in San Francisco.

Great Apartment, Highly recommend

The property was more than expected, clean, spacious and as described. On our late arrival Rob met us at the door, and was extremely hospitable, and concerned that our shared van had taken us way out of our way, but that is a whole other story. Rob had made sure the apartment was toasty warm as the weather had turned a little cooler, and we were pleasantly surprised to find lots of fresh fruit, coffee, bagels, butter, orange juice, milk..all the necessities for a good breakfast. Not having a stove was never an issue. Definitely was nice to have 2 levels, and having a powder room off the bedroom was a plus. Outside access to a very large deck was off the bedroom, and while the weather didn't really permit us to use it, having your coffee out there in the morning would be delightful. The stairs down to the apartment are rather steep, as are the stairs to the bedroom, so please note that if you have mobility issues. The location of the apartment was very convenient to the bus just on Portola Road, which was then a five minute ride to the metro, taking us downtown. We bought a CityPass, which was well worth the money. We went to Alcatraz, which was amazing, and shouldn't be missed if you are in San Francisco, California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park was also worth the visit, with beautiful coral displays representative of the Phillipines, and much more. Definitely have to ride the Cable Car both up and down.

Could not say enough about the friendliness of people in San Francisco, including Rob, but we unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to meet Jackie.

We had such an awesome time here, and would not hesitate to recommend this private apartment as a wonderful home away from home. If we ever have the opportunity to return to San Francisco, we would not hesitate to rent from Rob and Jackie again.
