Cozy Cambridge Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Gray House. The one bedroom was more than enough room for my husband and I. The place was very clean and the kitchen well-stocked with pots and pans, dishes and silverware. The location was very convenient - about a two minute walk to the Porter Square T-Station and 5 minutes to a grocery store. There are also a number of restaurants and coffee shops in close proximity. All walkable. The apartment made a great basecamp for our explorations of the Boston area. The only caveat that I would add is that the access is a steep exterior metal staircase (mentioned by the owner in the description - so we weren't surprised). For anyone with difficulty climbing or traveling with small children this probably wouldn't be a good fit. It wasn't an issue for us and we would stay there again.

Super Spot

  • 4 of 5

I stayed at this apartment for one week and chose the location because it was close to Harvard University (just under a 10 minute walk). The apartment is roomy and contains everything one needs for a short to longer visit. It is in an older, but well kept home and was very clean. Two small points to note: 1) as others have mentioned, their is a relatively steep set of stairs to navigate to get to the second floor entrance. This is not a huge concern, but could pose a challenge to those with mobility issues. 2) Yoga classes are held in the floor above the apartment and depending on the classes schedule, might wake up a late sleeper. The classes are not overly noisy and didn't bother me, but you do hear people moving around a bit.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and found the host, Karin, to be very helpful. I suppose the real test is whether I would book the unit again. The answer is a definite "yes".

Comfortable Central accommodation

  • 4 of 5

This appartment is well positioned for subway connections to DownTown Boston. We found it to be clean and comfortable with good facilities. The Hostess was particularly friendly, welcoming and helpful as we were strangers in a strange land so didn't know our way around at all. I would recommend this accommodation very highly. Thank you Karen for making us feel at home.

Outanding Accomodation

  • 5 of 5

This is a very well appointed apartment. It is quite spacious and accommodates all your needs. It is in a very quiet neighborhood which allows for excellent sleeping and peaceful activities within the building. It is only a short walk from the nearest subway T stop, allowing a visitor the ease of not needing a car for transportation. There are plenty of eateries nearby, too as well as a fully stocked grocery store. I have traveled and stayed in many vacation apartments in Europe and in the US; I would rank this Cambridge lodging as one of the best. I would certainly recommend this location for one's vacation plans.

Very nice and cosy apartment

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic time at this apartment during a Harvard's Law reunion. The owner was very warm and welcoming. She was great with us. The apartment is spacious and very nice. Please, beware that you can only get to the apartment through high outdoor stairs. We highly recommend staying at this place and I would certainly come back.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped, spacious apartment in a convenient location

  • 4 of 5

A positive experience. Convenient to eateries and grocery shopping and within walking distance to Harvard. If you're from out of town and using a car I strongly suggest you reserve a parking spot.
