This hotel is in a great location. It is a two minute walk to Jack London Square which is a wonderful part of Oakland, with great restaurants, beautiful views and lots to see and do. The hotel itself has a wonderful pool area. The only drawback is that the Amtrak trains come by on a regular basis, blowing their horns loudly, several times a day. That took some getting used to!

Staff seemed to do the bare minimum. It always felt like you were a bother when approaching them. This is much more an old Motel that's been repainted and refurnished. All rooms face a courtyard with a swimming pool. Would have appreciated knowing this was a motel when booking.
