About Elizabeth & Jim

We have been visiting the Hawaiian islands together since 2001 and fell in love with the Big Island on our first visit! We are grateful to have this little retreat and to be able to share it with others. We hope you enjoy the island as much as we do!

Elizabeth & Jim purchased this condo in 2013

Why Elizabeth & Jim chose Kona Coast

We love this condo for its proximity to so many lovely places. It is within a very short distance to Banyans (surfing), White Sands (boogie boarding), and Kahalu'u (snorkeling) beaches. We can also walk into Kona and have a meal, listen to music or just watch the passers-by. We like to go to the farmers market in town to get fresh produce and flowers. The Kona Pier is a wonderful place to swim, or rent paddle boards and kayaks.

What makes this condo unique

We have included everything we need for a comfortable stay when we are on the island. We hope you find everything you need, too!

Loved the spot

The location is convenient and we especially enjoyed reading by the ocean's edge. Condo is spacious and well equipped.

A cozy hideaway just a block from the beach

  • 4 of 5

First of all, Kailua Kona is awesome! And this place is an easy drive (or trolley car ride) to downtown. Better yet, it's only a block from Banyan Beach where you can surf, or watch surfers, all day long. For the price, we think it is hard to beat this condo. It is well-equipped and has a comfortable bed. The hosts are also very responsive. On the negative side, this third floor condo does need air conditioning, and you can only turn it on for one hour at a time, so you inevitably wake up in the middle of the night to turn the air back on. Also, you are directly on Ali'i Drive (busy street) without an ocean view, and there is no elevator. On the whole, though, we think this condo was good value for the money. Enjoy the Big Island!

Great condo in Kona!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here! Wish we could just move in and stay forever! :) This place worked out great for us and had everything we needed and more. It's clean, cute, comfortable, quiet, and in a nice location. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast, pack a lunch for the day, and snacks in the evening - fridge, stove, coffee pot, toaster, blender, and much more. It was nice to have snorkel gear, boogie boards, and chairs to bring to the beach too. It was a little hard to find the right building in the dark, but we figured it out! Stop by the desk in the main building to ask or look at the map they have outside the main door if they are closed. It was a great location from which to explore the west side of the island - from Green Sands Beach in the south to Polulu Valley up north. We stayed a few days in Hilo first to check out Volcanoes National park and other places on that side of the island. What a beautiful island! Thanks so much - if we are lucky, we'll be back!

Great Price, Amenities and Beach Close, Close to Downtown

  • 4 of 5

When we decided to book this place, it was just going to be the two of us. When my girlfriend decided to come on vacation too, thankfully it had a pull out bed available. It was a bit of a squeeze with the 3 of us, but nothing to worry over. It was right on Ali'i Drive, the bus stopped right outside, so it worked well with not having a vehicle the first few days. The main strip downtown is just a short bus/car ride away. The beach across the street was an excellent place to soak up some rays and see turtles up close! Banyan Market is right next door for any last minute items and Da Poke Shack (although expensive) has excellent poke. Unfortunately, the pool wasn't available, but according to the signs they were going to be resurfacing it and touching it up in May 2017. No beach views, but one just has to cross the street and can easily access it.
