About the property

Two stories, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2 living areas, 4 decks, and more…

Welcome to Luxury Living on Cape Cod

This vacation home has all you could want and need, as far as top-notch items, not a detail is overlooked.

Built 1974, this home was renovated in 2017.

It is immaculate and tastefully decorated. I, Helene, work with design and staging, and it is my passion to create ambiance in every space. I was born and raised in Sweden. Needless to say, the decor is heavily influenced by Scandinavian: design, flair, and worldwide eclectic pieces throughout the home.

The home provides two stories: two (2) upper-level bedrooms and living area, office along with its own private bathroom. The media room has a flat-screen TV, DVD player, over 30 board games, and lots of books in the office. There are even two sets of window seats where one can sit and relax, read, or daydream!

Ground level provides an attractive and inviting living area, fireplace, a large window seat for reading, and the master bedroom with a stunning matching bathroom (red marble).

Enjoy a fully equipped and remodeled kitchen. It will not disappoint even the most talented chef. Cook up a storm overlooking the dining room and the living room, while visiting with friends/family.

All bedrooms are furnished with the highest quality of beds, such as Tempur-Pedic, Leaf & Loom, and Sealy Posturepedic. Ensuring you the best quality of sleep/rest.

Leisure can be found on one of the 4 large decks around the dwelling. Have the need for privacy? Take pleasure on the large deck on the second floor, accessible from the blue room or directly from the gardens.

Feel that you are the ultimate cook? There are 2 BBQ's (Weber gas and Weber charcoal) to enjoy.

There is plenty of room to spend outdoors, yet each can have their own privacy. There is also an oversized, white and fresh outdoor shower, probably the best feature of this home. It's truly heavenly to take a shower under the open sky. Especially when coming from the beach.

The Old Mill House is located on the highest hill in this area, with 1+ acres of private grounds. Quiet and exclusive. There is an expansive lawn with a hammock under a canopy of oak leaves.

Yet, it's centrally located with easy ways to get anywhere on the Cape. You can get tips on how to avoid traffic. There are better roads than others. That's the reason it only takes minutes to the beach--no traffic roads!!

The property is 15 minutes away from both the south and north side beaches. The closest beach is Sandy Neck beach. Ranked one of the best beaches on Cape Cod!

SANDY NECK beach is on the north side (Cape Cod Bay). It is one of the most serene beaches on Cape Cod. The beach offers 4700 acres of, long beaches, dunes, and marshes. This is a great place to beach comb, because of all the rocks and shells.

The home which also located only 10 mins from downtown Hyannis (the hub of Cape Cod). The highway? Only 5 minutes away with plenty of restaurants, bars, antiquing or thrifting, shopping, 3 nearby ponds, beaches, local airports, golf, trails, cycling, and many other attractions to partake.

This house promises and delivers! We know you're going to love it and we look forward to having you

About Helene Delaney

Joe was born in Boston, Ma and is a jazz pianist. I, Helene, was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden I am into home design and staging. We met 30 years ago on Martha's Vineyard and shortly thereafter moved to the Virgin Islands: St:Thomas. However, we raised our son Joe jr on Cape Cod. He is now 27 yrs old. We live in Fort Myers, Florida. We also have a home in Karlskoga, Sweden which we will start renting out for the summer starting next year, 2018. Hedbacken, which is the name of the house is a series of 7 small buildings. The guesthouse is almost original inside and out and was built 1700. The main house was built in the 1800. This little compound sits in the middle of the old fur tree forest and it is 2 miles to the closest Neighboor's. It is also gated so there is no through traffic. The property sits on an acre+ of an opening. There is a large lawn and its bright and sunny. There is no electricity or running water. Daily needs are met with oil lamps, candles, and a wood stove which you can cook on. In addition, there is a pump for spring water!! There are also propane refrigerators and stove. The toilet is located in its own little house and is run on propane and solar power. There is one building which is a wood sauna with a relax area. There is even a brand new yoga studio. The woods are absolutely full of wild blueberries, lingonberries and chanterelle mushrooms. This is the ultimate experience of relaxing like you never have relaxed before. Hedbacken is truly one of a kind, 2,5 hrs from Stockholm, Oslo and Gothenburg

It is located 15 min from 2 towns: Kristinehamn and Karlskoga. Stay tuned Don't miss this opportunity for the 2018 summer season

Why Helene Delaney chose Marstons Mills

If you are looking for that little extra of everything, then you have found it.

Great efforts have been spent on luxurious details. From BBQ on a gas or charcoal grill. There are 4 private decks around the house. The kitchen is set up for a gourmet chef. There are 3 comfortable window seats, around the house, where you can relax with a book. Beach towels, beach chairs, picnic basket, coolers are provided. Take a nap in the hammock in the shade after a day at the beach. All the beds are top-notch brands and promise a great night sleep. The media room has a flat screen TV, DVD, and no less than 30 board games. The outdoor shower is the best part of the house. It's painted white and is roomy with a little dressing area=fantastic

The office/3rd bedroom (2 twins) also have a desk and a small library. Gather in the living room downstairs, which has an open floor plan with kitchen and dining room. A large antique fireplace works as a room divider of the 3 rooms.

What makes this house unique

Old Mill House was nearly fully renovated in 2016-2017 and shows off a stunning, and remodeled first floor. new kitchen, and 2 unique new bathrooms. Old Mill House is unusual for the mid cape, where the hub also is. It is only 15 minutes to downtown Hyannis and the mall. And it is only 15 min to several beaches on both sides of Cape Cod. In other words, it is close to everything. However, what is unique for this house is the size of the property 1+ acre of mostly lawn, and the fact that it sits on a hill, which allows for the nice summer breeze to whistle through. This you will not see on Cape Cod which is flat as a pancake. There is a 200 ft privacy fence towards the only visible neighbor. The owner works with design and therefore, the house is nicely decorated everywhere.

Outstanding experience on Cape Cod

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful home with wonderful owners. My wife and 3 adult children stayed there for 5 nights. From the beginning of the process, there was excellent communication from the owners assuring that the process itself was very smooth. Their home is very comfortable. It is very clean. It is centrally located with easy access to many sites on Cape Cod. We have rented homes through VRBO on many occasions and this was one of the best experiences. There were no specific problems. We could tell that the owners really cared that we enjoyed and appreciated their home the way that they do. We did. Thanks!!

A wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a couple of weeks at the Old Mill House in the summer of '17. It was a wonderful experience. First of all, the house is EXACTLY what you expect after you've seen the pics. They reflect perfectly the beautiful renovations Helene recently invested in. If you have looked at her posts and pics, you will not be disappointed. It's just a great house in a great location. Cheap? No. Worth it? I think so. But then again, I'm new to this. It was our first time renting out a house from a stranger.

But then, Helene (whom, to this day, I have never physically met) doesn't really seem like a stranger. From day 1, she was responsive and involved. She seems to enjoy making sure you are comfortable. And though I am not one to spend a lot of time communicating, Helene is simply very good at it. She went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Beach passes? Check. Temporarily canceling her redirected mail so I could receive packages at her house? Check. Subscribing last-minute to some pay channel so that I could watch a Real Madrid game on TV (yes, I'm European)? Check. Her attitude was invaluable in making our stay that much better.

The house itself is just marvelous. My 4 kids enjoyed playing outside in her garden, taking advantage of her children's library, and their beautiful rooms upstairs. My wife and I enjoyed the fantastic interiors and high quality finishings (we are in upscale real estate; we appreciate good interior design).

The location was exactly what I was looking for - about a 60 to 90 min drive to many places I wanted to visit: Providence, Newport, Boston, Provincetown, Chatham... and quite close to Hyannis and its ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, or the beaches of Osterville. Caveat: not a location where you can go anyplace really by foot, or where you meet neighbors. On the other hand, I did get some really nice 5k runs in the mornings, and was helped by some extremely kind folks when I ran out of gas as I was leaving the house.

All in all, a highly recommendable house. We were truly sorry to have to leave, having enjoyed ourselves there so much.

Thanks, Helene. We have built some beautiful memories in your house.
