Greenwich Weekend, Summer, Or Anytime Getaway – Great Location Near The Beach!
You’ll be staying in a spacious 5-bedroom, 3-bath fully-furnished shore colonial near the beach, within walking distance to the Old Greenwich train station (less than an hour away from Grand Central station). This sunny and relaxing home features hardwood floors throughout, a living room with a deep wood-burning stone fireplace, two dining areas to accommodate large groups (one with a window seat and stained glass dry bar), a family room with cathedral ceilings and skylights that leads to a deck equipped with gas and charcoal grills, and overlooking the huge yard, a large playroom that opens to the back yard and a separate laundry room. fully air-conditioned. All linens provided. The kitchen has newer equipment, dishes, cutlery, and cookware. Owner pays for all expenses – a unique benefit of renting my home.
This means that guests pay nothing extra for heating, air conditioning, cable, WIFI, yard care, trash pickup, or snow removal. This is a very cost-effective rental as it can accommodate 10 guests in the bedrooms, 12 if the two very comfortable couches in the living spaces are used. Separate, studio not included.
People seem to love my house and remark upon how friendly it is the minute they step into the living room. I’ve hosted families, groups of friends, professionals, neighbors who are doing renovations or who have had insurance losses, college and family reunions, house hunters, wedding guests, and New Yorkers getting a way from the city for the summer or a weekend all times of year. Guests appreciate how spacious the house is and how it affords many private spaces to be on one’s own, away from other family members or guests. Several self-employed guests have appreciated how my WIFI extends everywhere including the back deck, which provides a private and quiet workspace surrounded by trees.
The house is unique in that it gives the feeling of being far away by the beach like East Hampton and Nantucket yet it is only one hour away from Manhattan by express train and thirty-five minutes by car at off-peak hours. You can walk in five minutes to the end of the street and find a scenic cove where you can launch a kayak or paddleboard and access Long Island Sound. You can bike or jog to the beach, or drive there in less than 5 minutes. It’s also an easy walk to the historic town of Old Greenwich which features great shops and restaurants.
No security deposit or down payment required because VRBO offers property damage insurance.

Why Jim Foote chose West Side - Waterside - South End
People seem to love my house and note how comfortable it is. It’s spacious and provides privacy with the multiple living areas and two dining areas. Commuters love the proximity to the train station. Families love the huge yard surrounded by trees and how nearby the cove and beach are.
What makes this House unique
My house is unique in that it gives the feeling of being far away, near the beach, yet it is only about an hour away from Manhattan by train, or a 35 min off-peak drive. It’s also located within walking distance of the quaint and historic town of Old Greenwich. It’s perfect for commuters and families. Its size can accommodate a large group, making it quite cost effective. Having all expenses covered, and not needing to put down a security deposit (due to VRBO’s property damage insurance) is another great benefit that will give you peace of mind with this rental.

Beautiful old house in Old Greenwich, comfortably sleeps 10!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property, Jim was a wonderful host, very responsive and accommodating. He was waiting for us when we arrived and had the house all ready. The house is full of nice, comfortable old furniture, and the kitchen is small but well appointed with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again in the future, the location was perfect for us, thanks Jim!
Wonderful!! My kids loved playing in the backyard and there was room for many!
We spent a month in the summer here with our family. It was an absolutely wonderful stay. Jim was great, responsive, and accommodating. The location and home was really nice - with enough space to enjoy in the house and a very easy access to beach and other outdoor activities. We had friends and family over who loved it too. We had a lovely summer - and would definitely recommend it anytime.
everything you need and spacious
Jim was very attentive and helpful. The location is convenient.
I stayed there with 6 of my employees for almost 2 months the house was very accommodating for our needs. The house was nice and we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this place for a family get away or family reunion or for a large group of friends just wanting to get away and have some fun!!!
You can walk to Tomac Cove from my house in five minutes. There you can launch a kayak, sunfish or dingy. You can also feed the ducks, swans and geese and fish for flounder, snappers, blackfish and, on occasion, blues and stripers. I used to keep my boat on a mooring in the cove. Greenwich Point Park is a short bike ride from my house. You'll find a great beach with life guards and two concession stands. With a permit you can take clams, oysters, and mussels. You can also fish for large blues and stripers, take sailing lessons, picnic, wind sail, and jog or bike ride.
