The cottage is part of the Evans Estate. The beautifully renovated 1400 sq ft one bedroom home offers modern amenities amidst the seclusion of one acre of beautifully landscaped grounds on more than 200 feet of gated, privately accessible oceanfront. The romantic setting is complimented by recent loving restoration of this classic Kona home owned by the same family for almost 70 years. Architectural and design highlights include original beautifully restored hardwood floors, deck railing hand made from recovered local eucalytus trees, fossilized limestone countertops, basalt and limestone bathroom with rain and hand showers and jacuzzi tub, and solatube skylights. Watch all the recreational activities of the bay from surfing to kayaking from your bedroom, covered lanai and around the grounds, all overlooking the water's edge where you can share a swim, share a romantic sunset or practice morning yoga. The cottage is one of three cottages on the Evans Estate.
This property has been owned by the same family for almost 70 years.
Michael Evans purchased this house in 1944
The setting is perfect for exploring Hawaiian history or to relax and enjoy the many activities on Keauhou Bay. It is within walking distance of all luxury amenities, and is peaceful and stunningly beautiful.
The location is convenient to island excursions or a secluded romantic vacation on Keauhou Bay.
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Mike's beach front home. The property is in a great location. Snorkeling right out the door.
Short drive to Kona and Captain Cook Bay. Highly recommend!
From the moment we opened the gate to the property, we were enthralled with everything about this property. Michael, the owner, was there to show us around and available if needed, but never intrusive. We cooked meals there on many occasions to take advantage of all the fresh seafood available, and found every pot, pan and utensil needed to make a wonderful meal. There is a grocery store as well as many restaurants located in close proximity. We look forward to the next time we visit the big island so we can stay here again!!
Quiet bay-front location. Snorkeling just steps away. Modern cottage with nice kitchen. Beautiful deck with view of bay.
The property was beautiful. The hospitality by Michael, the owner, was just right. He was very helpful and accessible but not too much right there and not intrusive.
Beautiful property! From the moment you pull up in the driveway, you're greeted by a beautiful landscape that includes fruit trees, a vegetable garden, plants and flowers. The cottage is fully stocked with everything you need for a comfortable visit. The views of the ocean and all around the property are breathtaking. If the ocean is calm, you may be able to go for a swim or enjoy snorkeling without leaving the backyard. My wife and I visited the Big Island for our honeymoon and will definitely consider staying at this property again in the near future. Loved this place!!
This is a gorgeous property. The house is luxurious and has everything you need. The tempurpedic king bed was extremely comfortable. The water view and the lush grounds were gorgeous. Michael was quick to answer questions and was available if we needed anything. Yet we also felt like we had plenty of privacy and quiet. I loved this house and highly recommend it. The location was ideal for seeing the island. We will most definitely stay here again when we return to the big island.

Architectural and design highlights include original hardwood floors, deck railings expertly crafted from local eucalyptus, fossilized limestone countertops, and a basalt and limestone bathroom with a 12' Hans Grohe rain shower and jacuzzi tub. The gardens offer horticulturalists a chance to test their knowledge of native species and sample vegetables from our organic gardens. Guests are offered seasonal fruits which grow on the premises including mangos, guavas, breadfruit, bananas, oranges, tangerines, Surinam cherries, pomelos, papayas and many others which you may find during your stay.
