We are a family of 6 and live in the Atlanta Suburbs. We are originally from western New York and escaped the snow for the sunny south.
Bill Wagner purchased this condo in 2007
We were looking for a close, escape second home. Big Canoe is only about 1 hours drive from Atlanta and we can be in the mountains right after work on a Friday afternoon. The beauty and quiet are a nice contrast to City Life.
Big Canoe is a private gated (Wildlife Sanctuary) community comprised of more than 7,000 acres located in the North Georgia Mountains, and designed primarily to allow its owners and their guests the opportunity to enjoy the natural surroundings and wildlife, while preserving the beauty of the mountain and lake settings. Experience the over 20 miles of hiking trails (including an off-road 4-wheel drive trail), 3 stocked lakes, boating, fishing, swimming, (huge new children’s activity pool), 153 foot water slide, 27 hole golf course, tennis (10 courts - 2 in doors), jogging paths, 16,000+ square foot fitness – racquetball – spa facility, basketball, soccer, & baseball fields, restaurants, abundant wildlife, and beautiful scenery. Non-member access fees will apply to some of these amenities.
Hi Bill, wanted to let you know we thoroughly enjoyed the condo last week. Everything was first rate. We'll definitely stay again. Thanks for sharing.
Our first time at Big Canoe, Place was easy to find located near pool, beach. The place was very clean and felt like you were at home. Kitchen well stocked with all of the things you need for cooking. They had a gas grill that was great for grill out. Can't wait to go back and spend longer. Will book here again, owner very nice in answering emails.
We stayed for two nights because we were looking for property in Big Canoe. The condo was very comfy and immaculate. I really appreciated that the linens did not have a perfumed fragrance and that the couch was not fabric, which is why i chose this condo. I wish there were more good movies for adults, since we were iced in all day and night on one of our days. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and the owners couldn't have been more helpful accommodating us regarding our possible cancellation due to the weather. The weather didn't stop us and the trip was worthwhile. I am disappointed that they are booked in March on the dates we plan to return to look for property again.
This was our first time to stay in this area as we typically take a beach vacation. We had such a great time we plan to make this an annual vacation. The condo was clean and was equipped with everything we needed plus some. We ate in for every meal and had no problem with cooking in the kitchen or on the grill. My grandchildren had the bext time swimming between the lake and pool and we managed to get in some hiking too.
My sister & I stayed in the condo for some R&R, & we could not have stayed in a better place. It was so clean & well maintained. The views were beautiful, & is close to all the amenities. Can't ask for more. I have already booked it again for June 23, 2014.
I normally don't choose to rent Condo's...I prefer to stay in a cabin or in the Tree Toppers. I would recommend this Condo to everyone. There is only one complaint (not even really a complaint)...ask Bill or someone to turn the outside lights on if you're going to be arriving after dark. I had a flash light, which helped a little. But the lights finally came on after I had already made a couple of trips unloading (automatically...I guess...I don't know) and they were really a big help. The location is beautiful and I went with my grandaughter and her friend and even though they both ended us getting sick and it rained the whole time we were there...we still found ways to enjoy our stay and we had a fabulous time. Hope to return next year!!!
