Perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

Karen’s apartment is in the perfect location. We rode everywhere around DC, visiting all the monuments and museums. We even rode to Arlington Cemetery. The apartment is part of an historic home and is very well maintained with modern fixtures and furnishings. It is close to restaurants, coffee shops, the Eastern Markets and grocery stores (Trader Joes and Safeway). We arrived on Halloween, which is very big on East Capitol Street and enjoyed watching all the trick-or-treaters. Karen was a most gracious host and provided us with everything we needed for our week long stay. I would definitely stay again and recommend Karen’s apartment for your Washington DC stay. Thank you Karen!!

Perfect spot for city touring

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely perfect apartment! It has all the amenities you need in a perfect location for walking to just about anywhere, as it is only eight blocks from the Capitol building. The owner, Karen, was a pleasure to meet and went out of her way to make sure our state was perfect. If we ever decide to come back to DC, staying at this location will be at the top of our list!

Very convenient location. Great location. Very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The unit included free bicycles. We rode them everywhere. This was very fun and a huge savings. There is a bike lane all the way to the capital.

Great stay. Only one complaint.

  • 4 of 5

Great stay in DC. Our only complaint was the condition of the sofa and the pull out sofa bed. Sofa was peeling and left pieces all over the floor very uncomfortable for sitting and sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and mattress not in good shape. It truly was our only complaint. It’s the only reason for 4 stars. Otherwise the apartment was fantastic and Karen attended to any needs we had. Would definitely stay again if sofa was replaced.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review! Glad you liked the apartment and your stay here in DC! As we talked about when you were here, the new sofa was ordered 6 weeks ago! It has arrived!! We take a lot of pride in our apartment and were quick to order the new sofa when we had a incident with another guest that damaged it. It just took a while to order and get it delivered! All set now with a brand new sofa bed! Karen

Roomy and reasonable

  • 4 of 5

Great location, plenty of room for 2. Couch in living room being replaced, good thing, it really needs it. Bedroom was comfortable, but please figure out a way to black out the spaces next to the AC. The light in the hall lit up our room all night. We had one small maintenance issue, slow drains in the bathroom, that was fixed within hours.

Location was great , walking distance to many restaurants on 8th, 7th and Pennsylvania. I would stay here again.

Fantastic location with parking included!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the very nicely appointed garden apartment for 5 days! The location (6 blocks from the capitol, 3 blocks from the Eastern Market, 4 blocks from the Metro) cannot be beat!! Even more significant for us was the included parking spot. We drove and were well aware how much parking could cost daily in DC, so that was part of our search criteria.

Be aware that this is a small apartment that really isn't meant for more than 2 people. You have the room in the picture, plus a nice sized bedroom and a bathroom. That being said, you really have anything you could possibly need. Washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, tvs in both rooms with voice activated remotes. There are bikes available for use in the entranceway. The owners left Metro cards for you to refill instead of having to buy. We only used our car twice. Once to drive to the grocery store and another day when we went exploring Alexandria and Georgetown. Our only recommendation might be to get a new mattress in the bedroom. One side was very lumpy and uneven, but beyond that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a central location for visiting our nation's capitol.
