Thanks for looking at our home and we hope to see you soon!
My wife and I purchased our home in 2009 while my wife was stationed at Key West Naval Base. We welcomed our two children while living in Summerland Key and we miss it very much. My wife is still active duty and we have been stationed away from paradise for now. We will be back!
Dustin Murray purchased this house in 2009
My family and I stayed here for one week. Perfect house for us, loved the outdoor seating and dining area on the canal, very relaxing and private. We even saw a manatee swim down the canal also many tropical birds fly by. We drank our coffee sitting outside in the morning and enjoyed a cold beer in the evening. The kitchen was well designed with a large refrigerator and island. Beds were comfortable and the outdoor shower was awesome. We hope to return soon, next time for two weeks!
We stayed for a month at this awesome home!
We were down for our wedding and couldn't have been more happy!
From the wonderful foliage and back yard sitting area to the outdoor shower we were in heaven every day!
This place was so awesome! We truly felt like we were home in the Conch Cottage. Loved the tropical yard and the front gates that could be closed to make our little paradise feel so private. Had our boat with us so every morning we could load our personal items and the fishing and diving gear was already onboard! A beautiful ride through lovely homes filled with great, friendly neighbors who we got to know as we headed in and out each day on our adventures. My teenage son absolutely loved this place too! Enough room to be together for meals and evenings and still spread out enough for privacy. The outdoor shower was wonderful. Had coffee every morning on the comfy back porch as well as a few guitar playing evenings there too. Kitchen was fully equippid. Linens were all top quality. Beds very comfy. AC very cold-perfect after summer days outdoors! Super close to everything on Summerland Key. Sometimes we drove to the stores and other times we took the boat. Super close to Key West. An easy drive allowed us to head there several times during our stay. Summerland Key also has some very good restaurants. Only a few miles up to Big Pine and the convenience of a Winn Dixie grocery store. We will never forget our wonderful vacation at the
Conch Cottage! Thanks Dustin!!
We had an awesome time in the Keys! The house was incredible and in a great location for everything you could possibly want to do. The landscaping with all the tropical plants, down to the stone walkways were so unique. We rented a boat across the street and had it right at our house for the entire week. The little patio/deck area was furnished with nice couch and chairs, ceiling fan, gas grill and hammock! The beds were all so comfortable and everything was so clean. Neighborhood was quiet and people very friendly and helpful. I was so impressed to see homes in the neighborhood that had garages for their airplanes! The outdoor shower was so nice and we could see the moon and stars every night taking a shower, so cool! We will definitely be back. I almost forgot to mention we went lobster fishing and caught 6, brought them home and had lobster for dinner one night. Every pot or utensil you need to cook up your catch is right at your fingertips! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us Dustin!
This house is in a great location, less than 30 minutes from Key West or Marathon. There is also a bus stop at the end of the road; 4 bucks takes you one way and drops you off about a block from Duval St without having to worry about finding a place to park. The outside patio is made up comfortably, and there is no house across the canal trading views. The canal itself was amazingly clear, and it was just a short boat ride out into the Atlantic or the Gulf. Quiet and safe neighborhood, the kitchen was well equipped, sheets and towels all in excellent condition, and I wish our climate could support an outdoor shower like this one. Overall great experience and wouldn't hesitate to try and stay here again if it was available.
We really enjoyed our time in the Keys. We stayed at this lovely home for 10 days and enjoyed every minute we were there. The home was very comfortable and cozy. We went back and forth to Key West almost everyday, but that was after we spent each morning on the back porch, drinking our coffee and enjoying the day. The canal right there, the fresh air and warm temperatures. The house was great and the outdoor shower was the best. Everyday into the outdoor shower, under the sun and palm trees. The bedrooms are adequate & comfortable. The extra bathroom was fine and the living area spacious. There was a gate that we bring our car off the street and could close. That was nice. We had an iguana visit us one morning from the neighbors. We have lots of pictures of him up close and personal. Although we did not use the kayaks or swim in the canal this is available. All I can say is that this was the best vacation I have been on in years, I was so relaxed when I came home, it was a slice of heaven for 10 days. We will be back for sure.
Summerland Key is right in between the famous 7 mile bridge and Bahia Honda, a famous state park and beach area, and Key West. It has a quaint small town, quiet feel, while still boasting amenities, such as a small grocery store, gas, bank, etc. Only 10 minutes from a larger grocery store, and 25 minutes from the famous, historic party town, Key West. Have the best of both worlds!
