About Kathy Jenkins
I fell in love with Cape Charles over a year ago. Just crossing over the bridge from Virginia Beach dissolves the stress of my hectic, everyday life. I hope you will grow to be just as captivated with the slow, relaxing pace of this slice of Americana.
Kathy Jenkins purchased this House in 2016
Why Kathy Jenkins chose Cape Charles
When I saw this property I saw the potential. It just needed a little attention and a face lift. After a kitchen face-lift, total bathroom reno, lots of paint, period fixtures and fresh new furniture, I am proud to offer Heron House for a beach getaway!
What makes this House unique
Heron House is a few short blocks to the beach or downtown. The front porch is perfect for relaxing over coffee before heading out for the day and cocktails when you return.

Kathy was so sweet! Very nice to work with!
Cape Charles is a delightful step back in time, where people are nice, friendly, helpful. Head down to Mason Ave (the towns main street) for shopping, eating or taking in a movie at The Palace. The Cape Charles Town Beach is located along Bay Avenue with beach access at the end of every block. Located at the ends of Tazewell and Randolph Avenues are two wooden beach access points with view platforms and benches for people to enjoy views of the Chesapeake Bay and spectacular sunsets. Public restroom facilities are provided at the southern end of the beach by the entrance to the fishing pier. Central Park is conveniently located in the center of historic downtown Cape Charles. In 2010, Central Park was redesigned with a large pergola, gazebo, benches, and a beautiful fountain. Enjoy two lighted, public tennis courts and “Cape Kids”, a playground for young children. Adjacent to the Town’s public beach, located at the southern end, is Cape Charles Fishing Pier. The pier has many built-in benches for you to use while watching boats come and go from the Town Harbor or sail by in the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay. The pier also offers an excellent place to spend the day fishing or crabbing. The Town of Cape Charles has a saltwater fishing license for the pier, so the general public is not be required to have an individual saltwater fishing license in order to go crabbing or fishing.
Walk, bike or golf cart. Golf cart rentals are available at Eastern Shore Custom Carts.
