About Dar Armstrong

I am the sole owner of the property. I'm originally from the east coast but have lived in Montana for 22 years.

Dar Armstrong purchased this bungalow in 2009

Why Dar Armstrong chose Missoula

I moved to Missoula a few years ago from Bozeman to finish my graduate degree and found this great house. It's a comfortable, easy to maintain, in a quiet neighborhood but only one block from the bike trail to downtown and a straight shot around the corner to U of M. If you haven't spent time in Missoula before, you're in for a treat. There's always lots to do - concerts, theatre, lectures, etc. and it's an outdoor mecca, as well. The Clark Fork River runs through the city and then passes within walking distance of my property. If you value quality foods, the Good Food Store is a short walk from my place too. Every season is fun in Missoula, but my favorite is summer. The temperature is warm and the air is dry rather than humid. Great weather for hiking, fishing, biking, or just hanging out at our wonderful Farmer's Market. My place offers easy access to it all!

What makes this bungalow unique

Great for long term rental!

Location is everything

  • 5 of 5

Location is everything when trying to make the most of a 4 night sightseeing trip. And we did!!

My husband and I were visiting this area for the 1st time and found it very accessible to all the main roads and so close to the down town area without being in the middle of the down town action. We took advantage of the amenities, cooking on the gas grill, used the washer dryer, internet. The set up here is perfect.

We were here right in the middle of a heat wave with unusually high temperatures close to 100*. So I missed my fan and we talked about getting one and leaving it for other guests but didn't take the time to shop.

Dar is great and really helpful. Answering questions about the area and suggesting things to do and where to go.

We had a wonderful, positive experience and the trip was a good reset for us. Until next time.. thank you!

Missoula getaway

  • 4 of 5

Nice little house in one of missoula's quieter neighborhoods. Very clean, well decorated, well furnished. Easy check in and out. Very nice owner.

Small bathroom. Great for a couple, maybe not for a family or for traveling with friends. Large kitchen! Very nice yard with table, bbq, and umbrella.

We had a few very minor issues with the home and we still have not received our deposit (after an entire week) which has me concerned.

Overall nice house at a good price.

Owner's Response: Paul, I'm glad you liked the house. Just so you know, the VRBO admin handles the deposit return, not the homeowner. I would contact them if your credit card isn't credited the returnable deposit soon. I believe they allow the homeowner one week to report damage. I did not report any damage, so you should be getting that back soon. I chose allowing guests to pay a returnable deposit over requiring the $59 property damage insurance to save my guests money. Most seem to prefer that option. Thanks again for choosing my place. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Montana!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

This was a well appointed & cozy home. It was in easy walking or driving distance of everything in Missoula has to offer. The only minor problem was that the internet was a bother to get on, but who needs internet when you are on vacation.

Charming little home on quiet street

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just spent the month of September here and had a wonderful time. The location was great for easy access via walking or biking to downtown, the Hip Strip and the University. The kitchen was cheery and well-stocked. We were visiting family and could do great entertaining outside on the back deck and in the backyard. There were a lot of nice touches -- comfy furniture and a console table so you could grab your stuff easily in the living room, big kitchen table for extra counter space, a nice desk area for the computer in the second bedroom, lots of closet space, new, super-quiet washer and dryer, AND an electric fireplace/heater that took the chill out of the air in the mornings. Dar was so accommodating -- she even let us use part of her garage to store our biking, hiking and fishing gear. We felt very happy, cozy and safe there and would definitely go back.
