Why Laurie Clark chose Beacon

The property and house are special. Not just because it's a beautiful and unique East Lake Victorian house - but because of its relaxed atmosphere. Over the years artists, musicians and writers have all remarked that it was a wonderfully "creative" space. While it is located a walkable distance from the Hudson River and Metro-North Train Station - the home offers off street parking for multiple vehicles.

The house sits right off Beacon's Main Street - making it close to mostly everything Beacon has to offer. Beacon is a wonderful walking town. When a day of exploring is finished, it's nice to have only a short walk back to a quiet and comfortable place for a reflective evening and peaceful rest.

What makes this house unique

Lovely walking grounds. Close to hiking trails. Great restaurants right up the street! Plenty of safe, quiet side streets. Private parking. A lovely view of Mt. Beacon from the spacious front porch seating. A sense of splendid grandeur while enjoying the beautifully arranged East Lake Victorian turret living room and the Blue Room poster bed.

Lovely well maintained Victorian

  • 4 of 5

We spent 3 nights in this lovingly maintained home. We were just 2 people. There are 4 bedrooms but only one bath so you that’s important to know. Laurie is very warm and has made the house a warm, well stocked home.

Convenient and comfortable victorian home

  • 5 of 5

Laurie is extremely sweet and very accommodating. The house fits 6 comfortably and is only a few steps from town. We stayed for a wedding at the Roundhouse and walking there was no problem.

Beautiful home in Beacon

  • 5 of 5

It was a pleasure to stay at Laurie's home for the long Fourth of July weekend. The apartment was super spacious and clean, with beautiful art and a great library. Best of all was the wrap-around porch where we ate several lovely meals. Comfortably slept 6 (two double bedrooms, two single bedrooms), and was a perfect home base for hiking and swimming nearby. Laurie was a great hostess--super responsive and made sure we had everything we needed--even a grill for a holiday cook out. Would definitely rent again.

Located on a quiet street adjacent to Main Street Beacon. On the largest land plot in downtown Beacon, this residence is of an East Lake Victorian style and was specially constructed in the 1870’s. It was originally built as the residence of Dr. Theil. In fact, Dr. Theil later built the homes immediately visible to the left and right for his growing family, so in a sense the neighborhood has remained untouched.

Since 1995 this has been my home. I have recently completed renovations to help establish this house as a premier extended-stay residence property in the heart of Beacon NY. Today, Beacon's quaint shops and restaurants are located within a short walk from the property entrance. There is ample, private parking on premises and a Metro-North rail station is less than two miles away. Welcome!
