Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 2012
We travel a lot so I was looking for a property where I would want to stay if I were on vacation or live in the house permanently. Upon stepping into this house it was clear that the place met this criteria. The previous owners, planning to retire there, did a wonderful job of updating this 1970s home with all new carpet, stone flooring, counter tops and kitchen appliances. We added furniture and decor that matched the quality of the remodel rather than simply filling space with second-hand furniture. Our family spends time in the house as well so we understand it's attractions and aesthetics. We envision this as a comfortable and convenient place for guest to enjoy the many events and activities the Eugene area has to offer including world class Tack and Field, easy access to the coast and mountains, great local food and magnificent music such as the Bach Festival.
We loved staying in this beautiful home. The living room windows look out onto a large rainforest of trees, no framed pictures needed in this room! The beds were comfortable, large bathrooms near the bedrooms and we loved sitting out on the deck looking at the beautiful trees while drinking a brew from Eugene :) Would highly recommend this home for a stay; had everything you need in the kitchen, books and board games in the living room upstairs, even Christmas lights around one of the windows that you could light up. When we arrived, the owner had scented candles burning, that just added to the wonderful welcoming home.
We enjoyed staying in this large home with plenty of room to have a graduation celebration. It is in nice condition and we were very satisfied with our experience.
The house is lovely. Upstairs: kitchen, living room and bathroom. Downstairs: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a second living room with a real wood fireplace. This home has plenty of room for larger groups. We enjoyed the deck off the lower level - you can hear the road (while on the deck), but the view is beautiful. We watched the birds and squirrels run through the trees.
All around and excellent stay!
We loved out stay at this amazing home. It was perfect for our weekend getaway and the description on the listing was spot on for what we found when we arrived. We didn't need much assistance and were hoping to just enjoy a quiet weekend, so once the owner touched base before we arrived to give us information about the key and the alarm system we were left alone to just enjoy the weekend. The house was close to downtown Eugene and allowed for super easy access to the interstate. Even with it being so close to the city and interstate it felt like we were staying in a forest cabin because of the amazing trees, porch, and cozy feel. The home was clean and had all the appliances we needed to cook at the house every night we were there. We felt safe and enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood at night (and loved seeing all the turkeys in the morning!). I would recommend this home for anyone who is traveling to Eugene!
My family stayed at this house in February and again in March to visit my son who is going to school in Eugene. We love the location (in the trees and secluded). We also love the layout of the house. My son plays baseball and we have been able to feed him and a few of the other boys home cooked meals. Kitchen is very spacious and has what we needed to cook. The rooms were great and we had no issue with cleanliness at all. The Owner was great to work with and helped accommodate me quickly on a special need when I had to arrive a few days earlier than planned this last trip.. There is a good selection of games (which we played and enjoyed). Would not hesitate to book again.
We stayed for 6 nights. This was a very nice home set in a beautiful neighborhood setting. Lots of room and loved that there was a washer and dryer for our use. So happy to find that the driveway was not located on a hill as we had a trailer that we needed to park and unload our belongings. Very nice neighbors for the most part. We got the impression that one of the neighbors to the right of the home didn't like that this was a rental property and they were not to friendly. Apparently from talking with the other neighbors they have a lot of younger crowds staying that party pretty hard. We loved that there is recycling and the garage was a nice place for us to store our things in (bikes, coolers etc.).
Now this all being said let us say this. We own a B&B and possibly our standard is way to high but this place was dirty. The master bathroom had not been cleaned. There was used soap in the shower, hair and mold as well as something thick and white all over the glass shower doors. Possibly conditioner or shampoo. Hair on all of the bathroom floors and in the tub and sinks. The refrigerator was filthy. Couches and chairs were so uncomfortable and made for difficulty in lounging. Towels smelled like mildew. I brought these issues to the owners attention and was reassured that they would be handled. Not that we were asking for a refund as the owner did give us a discounted rate initially so I guess he felt that no other compensation needed to be made. There were only 2 of us and we left it much cleaner than the way we found it.
We are located just south of the University of Oregon, Hayward Field, Autzen Stadium, Matt Knight Arena, the Hult Center and downtown Eugene. As track fans (we participate in Masters Track competitions) and supporters of the arts, we especially look forward to hosting guests for track and field championships and the Oregon Bach Festival. The home is located near miles of hiking trails, parks and recreation areas as well as all the amenities of this university town. If you stay with us you will also be an hour from the beach and Willamette Pass. If you're interested in fishing, running, or birding, we have some excellent suggestions and local contacts.

If you are planning on a generous amount of alcohol consumption or drug use, please book another location. If you are planning to have more than two guests at any time during your stay, you must obtain permission from the owner.
