About Owner / Property Manager

Two University of Oregon professors with two children splitting time between town and country.

Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 2012

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Southeast Eugene

We travel a lot so I was looking for a property where I would want to stay if I were on vacation or live in the house permanently. Upon stepping into this house it was clear that the place met this criteria. The previous owners, planning to retire there, did a wonderful job of updating this 1970s home with all new carpet, stone flooring, counter tops and kitchen appliances. We added furniture and decor that matched the quality of the remodel rather than simply filling space with second-hand furniture. Our family spends time in the house as well so we understand it's attractions and aesthetics. We envision this as a comfortable and convenient place for guest to enjoy the many events and activities the Eugene area has to offer including world class Tack and Field, easy access to the coast and mountains, great local food and magnificent music such as the Bach Festival.

Very disappointing

  • 1 of 5

Had no fridge space for our food as the fridge was being used by owners food. Had no garbage space as cans were already full when we arrived. Personal items, like bath sponges and razors, were in showers, which I find kind of gross. Felt like I was intruding in someone else's home, not like I was on vacation.

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear about these particular problems. The owner does not live in the house so any food left in the refrigerator was from previous guests. Ditto for personal items left in the bathrooms. These issues are easily remedied through a discussion with my cleaning crew, reminding them to remove all items left by previous guests. I would gladly have addressed the issues in the moment as well. I live just a few miles away and all my guests have my cell number and can reach me at any time for problems big and small. It is unfortunate that the house was not appropriately prepared in this instance. I understand how this can taint your entire guest experience.

Nice home

  • 5 of 5

Extremely clean and nice home in beautiful location with all the amenities as shown on site. Worked out well for our family while visiting in Eugene. We were all older adults; so the bedroom with bunk beds was not ideal but we knew that in advance.

Great House in a Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I attended a family member's wedding in Eugene and rented this home to stay in with my brother and sister-in-law and a couple of cousins, all from out of town. The house worked great with two large bedrooms for the two couples and a third room with bunk beds for the single cousins. Great split level living/entertainment areas - we played a lot of card games around the dining room table. We were also able to bring our dog (30 lb mutt) and my husband was able to easily run with him in the mornings to a nearby dog park. Grocery store is conveniently located down the street for any food/drinks you may have forgot! Would definitely rent again if we're in the Eugene area!

Hiding in the woods yet so closed to every point you wanted to go in Eugene. We loved it.

  • 5 of 5

We had a small family reunion and everyone loved this place, beautiful balcony looking over the mature trees, a view you can only see in Oregon. Owners were very accommodating and willing to help in case you needed anything. Definitely we recommend this place to any family wishing to have a little place of heaven while in Eugene.

Wonderful house but the neighbors not so much.

  • 4 of 5

I visit my family every year and this is our second stay at this home. This house is beautiful, plenty of space for many, close to shopping, and tucked away in beautiful location. The owner is easy to work with and prices cannot be beat. I had an old girlfriend and her husband over for dinner one evening and after dinner we had a few drinks on the back deck, four adults no kids, no music. We were chatting and laughing sharing memories enjoying our evening. By 11pm walking our guests to their car out front a neighbor came rushing over screaming this is a quiet neighborhood & he said he could hear us 15min. ago & now can year us again for the second time. He harshly reminded us we were simply guests and needed to behave as such or he would call the police. I couldn't believe his reaction, we were not screaming no loud music of course we immediately apologized & said as you can see company is leaving. He then again reminded us of the guest status and in this neighborhood the extra cars and noise were unwelcomed. We couldn't believe his outburst four adults chatting sitting & yes laughing, I know we couldn't have been terribly loud. However, he wasn't the only neighbor to make an impression, the woman next door said I was the first neighbor to visit with her so much and she has lived there almost 10 years. The house is a lovely place but if you plan on company forget it, the neighbors are monitoring and do not like the rental in the middle of their neighborhood.

We are located just south of the University of Oregon, Hayward Field, Autzen Stadium, Matt Knight Arena, the Hult Center and downtown Eugene. As track fans (we participate in Masters Track competitions) and supporters of the arts, we especially look forward to hosting guests for track and field championships and the Oregon Bach Festival. The home is located near miles of hiking trails, parks and recreation areas as well as all the amenities of this university town. If you stay with us you will also be an hour from the beach and Willamette Pass. If you're interested in fishing, running, or birding, we have some excellent suggestions and local contacts.
