About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Good place, nice location

 • 3 of 5

Overall, nice location, and good condition of the house. The furniture is very old/bad, but if the price is right and you like the beach, it's a good place to visit.

Good location and nice house, but had a few challenges

 • 3 of 5

Summary: The house was clean (Although the stairway banister was sticky, so we washed it off) and the location is good for Lincoln City. We had good luck for November, having two nice days with sunsets which I enjoyed from the upper deck. Overall, I would rent this location again.

Detail:

We rented the house for the week of Thanksgiving, and were able to host a prepared Thanksgiving meal for 7 family on Turkey Day. The kitchen is small, but very usable, and all appliances worked fine. We had no trouble making use of the dishes and utensils, and were able to make things work out fine.

The house is across the street from a stairway for public beach access, but the stairs are very high and would not be usable for someone not in good shape. There is another beach access a short drive down the street to the North, which does not have stairs, and would be accessible for elderly and others.

Being not directly on the beach was actually nice, as we still had a partial view of the ocean from the decks, and when the weather became bad (Gale force winds), it was nice to have some protection.

We did have three challenges with the property:

The first night at 3am, a painting in the main level fell to the floor due to the hanging wire breaking, and broke the electrical outlet. It was no fault of the owner/management company, but the crash woke everyone and caused alarm in the middle of the night. I called the management company the next morning, and they offered to fix the electrical outlet that day, or said we could leave it and they would repair it after we checked out. (We opted for the latter)

The next night, the smoke alarm in the bedroom closest to the stairs started chirping due to a battery that was old. I was able to remove the smoke alarm and battery to stop the chirping, and purchased a batter the next day. [Note to management company: You should check/change all the smoke alarm batteries.] Again, the issue was due to luck of being there at the time, but it also happened in the middle of the night at 1am.

The final issue was the furniture; it looks nice, but is horribly uncomfortable. The couches and the futon in the photos are accurate in appearance, but sag when you sit in them and/or have no cushion so you feel boards digging into your back and seat. It was so bad, that by the third day everyone would sit at the kitchen table or on the floor. Also, 2 of the 3 beds desperately need new mattresses.

A Great Place To Relax

 • 5 of 5

The short walk to the beach access stairs is great. There are a lot of stairs, though. Going down to the beach is easy; heading back up can be daunting but there are a lot of areas to stop on your way back up. We watched the whales on our little breaks on the way back up. The house is very nice with plenty of room. We had 5 in our party and it never felt crowded. The living room / kitchen on the top floor is very nice as you can watch the sun set while eating dinner or lounging on the deck. We had a great weekend and were very bummed when it came time to head back home.

Great view! Close to the beach! Needs a few improvements.

 • 4 of 5

PROS:

- Good amount of space for six people. Three bedrooms with full/queen size beds. Says queen, but they seemed smaller than our queen at home. Still a fine size for two people. Full size futon in the living room.

- Two full bathrooms. One had a skylight, which was nice.

- View of the ocean from the top deck. Saw some whale spouts!

- Close proximity to the beach -- just down a looong flight of stairs.

- Spacious living / dining room area. Great light!

CONS:

- No extra sheets for the futon, and only one extra pillow case.

- Beds were not comfortable.

- Very low water pressure in both showers.

- Downstairs shower had mold near the ceiling.

- Kitchen supplies were on the old side, meaning we didn't want to cook with them due to safety concerns. We boiled some water in one of the pots, but it tasted like plastic when we drank it, so we threw did not use it.

- Outdoor furniture felt flimsy and not suited for people on the heavier side.

Overall, our stay was great! We had a nice time and relished the top deck each morning. Good price, but there could be improvements to make it an even better place to stay.

Owner's Response: The property manager will replace any kitchen supplies that are not in good condition and will follow-up with housekeeping on providing sheets for the futon. The owner is currently staying in the home and will address the maintenance issues. Thanks!

With it's easy access to the beach and it's ability to comfortably sleep 6 (easily 8) this was a great house to call home for the weekend.

Anchor Away

 • 5 of 5

We recently surprised our kids with a family vacation to Lincoln City. We had a wonderful time, and our stay at Anchor Away was amazing. We felt right at home in the roomy comfortable house. The house was clean and well stocked with the basics. When we contacted Vacasa for help they were helpful and courteous. We will definitely book with Vacasa again, and we will be trying to book Anchor Away again in the future.
