Last summer, we rented this house for a weekly rate of $2800. Because we live on a quiet neighborhood street, we decided that this year we would rather rent by the month with a lower rate.
Our home has 3 bedrooms: a master with a king bed overlooking the pool out back; a second bedroom with a full-sized bunk-bed, and a third bedroom with a twin/trundle bed. The bathrooms are modern and recently renovated: the master with a oversized jacuzzi tub and a step-in shower large enough for two.
A 50 inch flat screen is in the living room and there is also a 32 inch flat screen in the master. A surround sound stereo system plays in every room of the house (if you set it that way) and in the back yard.
The kitchen is equipped with everything for someone who loves to cook; in addition to a beautiful gas grill in the built-in bar (complete with mini-fridge) in the back yard. There is a lovely salt water, solar-heated pool which will keep you perfectly cool on warm days (with a fence to protect any accidents). A covered patio with a view of the pool is a heavenly place to sit and sip a drink while you read a novel. Built in swings with a padded ground are great for young kids. And they will also love the S'mores you can make in the fire-pit in the back yard.
The front yard is also spacious: big enough for a game of croquet or catch.
ADDITIONALLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HOUSE ALSO COMES WITH A $110 WEEKLY CLEANING (WITH WASHED LINENS).
Lastly, there is an on-premise caretaker who lives in a rear guest unit who can help you with any questions you may have.

We are a family of four with two young girls (4 and 6). We are originally from the east (Boston), but love living in Southern California. We work in the movie industry.

This property has something for everyone: hikes, theme parks, beaches nearby, a pool, BBQ, gourmet restaurants, shopping at every level, entertainment (movie theaters and live theater), 5-star hotels, and a beautiful house to spend a lazy summer day.
My husband decided he wanted to buy this house when he spotted the high-end built-in Dynasty Grill in the back-yard off the covered patio; but for me it was the built in swings with the padded ground for the kids. It seemed no detail had gone unlooked. There are so many little pockets around our home for each person living here to enjoy (a serene swing hanging from a tree, a hammock on the patio, the pool with a shallow end for kids to play or for adults to lounge). The inside is spacious and comfortable and when you do venture out into the world, there are countless things to do and explore.
Okay, so my wife a clean freak and this house was perfect. The beds were soft and the bedding was high quality, so says my wife. The kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING (even a Vitamix!). The owners were super available and Kelly in the guesthouse was totally unobtrusive (never saw her unless we had a question) but also very helpful about telling us the secret gems of the area (thanks for the sushi restaurant tip, Kelly - seriously the best sushi we have EVER had!!!!). And the price?? This house is a steal!!!

I came with a family that wanted to see all things Los Angeles. Universal, the beach, Disneyland and we managed to go to all of those places BUT, I found myself waiting to return to the outdoor, shaded patio where I could read a book and listen to my kids play in the pool. This is the perfect house to go places, but also to simply do nothing.
Thank God. This house and entire experience EXCEEDED expectation! Truth be told, I get a little nervous when renting a home sight unseen. Firstly, it was incredibly CLEAN and had every amenity possible. You can tell the home is well cared for. Great neighborhood with easy access to the highway. Pete (owner) was really helpful and accommodating (I ask A LOT of questions). All in all, such a wonderful experience and I look forward to renting this home again next trip to LA!!
My family traveled here in L.A. and found this is a very convenient place to get to hollywood universal studio. Market, gas...everything is within 10-15 min drive. The house itself is comfortable, it took a bit of time for the pool-warmer to work, but we had fun. The owner is very helpful and willing to let us rent their car for a very good deal (we needed a 8-seat SUV cuz we had a 6-people group check-in). The kids also love the entertainment utility in the backyard. The overall experience is good.
Wow. What a great place to spend some time in LA with your family. Quiet neighbourhood, clean house, great amenities within and a central location to many local attractions.
The home was clean, modern and very spacious.
Pete (the owner) and Kelly (the caretaker) were fantastic making sure that everything was to our liking.
Our family went to Universal Studio's, Malibu, Hollywood, Dodger Stadium and the LA zoo. All of these attractions were within a reasonable car ride in the courtesy car that Pete provided at a very generous rate per day.
I plan on going back in the future and would highly recommend this property to all families looking for a fun place to stay in a great area of LA.
Our home is in a quiet neighborhood in Valley Village. But don't let the peaceful surroundings fool you! There is a never-ending list of things to do.
We are a 5 minute drive from Universal Studios, 45 minutes to Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm, and 15 minutes from the sights on Hollywood Blvd. Also within a half hour drive are many beautiful beaches including Santa Monica, Venice and Malibu. We are less than a mile from Ventura Blvd which is a charming street with more restaurants and quaint boutiques than one could visit in a lifetime.
Beverly Hills is 10 miles away where one can shop on the famous Rodeo Drive or eat at any of the delicious and world renowned restaurants. There are at least 4 childrens' museums within 15 miles of our home; in addition to many museums for adults: The Getty, The LACMA, and The Natural History Museum to name a few.
If hiking is your thing, we are a mile from one of the best hikes in LA: Fryman Canyon (a 3 mile loop through the Santa Monica Mountains). If you're willing to drive 15 miles, you can hike to the top of the famous Hollywood Sign. Sushi Row, known for being the strip with the most sushi restaurants in a one mile radius (and better fish than you will ever eat!), is one mile away.
All of these things are full of surprises and wonder; if you can pull yourself away from the salt water pool, swingset, and gas BBQ in our back yard!
