About Jerome Rudes
I am an American, with a French passport as well. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from US universities, and now work in film post-production in New York, as well as acting as literary agent to several high-caliber writers. As much as my busy professional life permits, I try to come back to my Provençal home for short, but always delightful stays.
Jerome Rudes purchased this Cottage in 1997
Why Jerome Rudes chose Villeneuve-lès-Avignon
For many years, I lived year-round in my home in Provence before re-locating to the East Coast of the US because of professional obligations. The property is very special to me, as I trust it will be to my guests, because of its wonderful location next to a beautiful park and close to a lovely unblemished village that is proud of its heritage, and not far from state-of-the-art rail and air transportation. In sum, my home is situated in a seemingly magical location, blessed with a great macro-climate and tranquility, right in the heart of Provence! And there's a new jacuzzi to relax in at the end of the day!
What makes this Cottage unique
Easy to come and go, all modern furnishings and appliances, WiFi all around the property, quiet, safe surroundings, conveniently situated in the center of Provence, a wide variety of nearby restaurants and wineries to sample, plenty of cultural attractions, and a tranquil place to come home to, cozy in cool months, cool in warmer months. The jacuzzi on the back terrace is a new addition that is both pleasant and health-inducing.

Simply The Best
We stayed in the upstairs apartment which felt like we were staying in someones home, as opposed to a holiday flat. We were welcomed like old friends and that relaxed feeling stayed throughout the holiday. We had an amazing time - it was all and more than we could have hoped for. Don't come expecting perfection, but come with a relaxed attitude and you will not be disappointed. We could not find fault with our experience. Live the French life in a location that feels more like a film set, it is so beautiful.
Incredible experience all around
Jerry's place was the perfect situation for a month in Provence. 5 minute walk into the village and 20 minutes into Avignon. We rented both levels to accommodate shorter term stays for additional friends and relatives. The Jacuzzi is perfect after a long day of walking. House is well furnished with good wi-fi and hot water. We hated to leave.
Christmas in the south of France
Our family gathered for the Christmas holidays and spent 10 days exploring Villeneuve, the many delights of Avignon, Roman ruins, with trips to a local winery and a local distillery.
Our stay in Jerry’s home was full of great meals prepared by our family members with supplies from the local bakeries, butcher shops, and markets.
The house accommodated seven of us comfortably with room for all. Meal preparation can be a challenge due to the small kitchen downstairs so we shared food preparation between the upstairs and downstairs kitchens.
There was an issue with the power to the downstairs portion of the house on Christmas Eve but somehow Jerry managed to bring in a qualified electrician to ferret out the problem and make the necessary repairs.
We would definitely enjoy another stay at this home for our family
Very nice place in a quiet street of Villeneuve
We were 7 of us to stay at Jerry 's place. His house was the perfect solution to escape the buzz of the Festival where we were working every day.
Fresh, calm , tastelly accomodated, with beautifull garden and terrace, this location is provided with everything you need. Easy to use. We recomend this cottage.
Superbe séjour à Avignon
Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Jerry le propriétaire, toujours serviable malgré la distance et le décalage horaire.
Fabulous location in a wonderful little town. Easy to get to Avignon and surrounding areas on day trips with a car or using public transportation. Loved the outdoor sitting areas. We had two families and it was perfect..separate sleeping floors and great spaces to relax and eat together. Would love to return some day.
This is the heart of Provence, perfect for discovering Avignon, St. Remy, Arles, Nimes, Marseille, Orange, and the Luberon. My place is located across the Rhone River from Avignon in a peaceful village next to a national park, which is full of Mediterranean pine trees and olive trees, blanketed by blissful silence. The local village is a 5-minute walk away, where there are open-air markets with magnificent fruits and vegetables, bakeries, a post office, several cafés and some decent restaurants. There's public transportation in the village as well to nearby Avignon, which is a major European cultural attraction, with museums, festivals, and live dance and music performances all year long.
