In just minutes you can be drinking coffee on the beach and enjoying the sand between your toes. In the winter months you can listen to the waves break from the lanai and from within the condo.

We travel a lot, mostly for work but this time was for pleasure. The condo looked brand new, beautiful granite counter tops, brand new appliances and electronics. We had a fully loaded kitchen with spices and every kitchen tool we could possibly need. They provided beach chairs and some beach toys, including boogie boards. Our greeter was very sweet and was able to recommend places to go eat and hang out. The Maui Westside properties team was really nice, we had asked for a second parking pass, and they brought one right over. The view alone gives me reason to come back, this condo is really great!
We stayed in the 2 bedroom Konea 705 unit at the Honua Kai complex in Kaanapali in November 2016. Setting up our reservation/getting to the property through Maui Westside Properties was a simple and efficient process, thanks to detailed instructions sent via email ahead of time.
Konea 705 was perfectly spacious for us, and the couple that we were traveling with. We had a couple of issues with basic housekeeping supplies, but they were resolved quickly and efficiently when we asked for help. (All of the extra TP and kleenex was located in only one of the 2 bathrooms, which was weird and something we weren't aware of until we asked our friends if they had extra, by any chance, because we didn't go into each other's space. It would have been nice if that hadn't been an issue at all, and extras were dispersed properly in both rooms.)
The beds were very comfortable, everything worked well during our visit - plumbing, TV, laundry - which was great, and we LOVED the types of keys they use for the condos at Honua Kai! (They're a rubber bracelet type of thing. Awesome!) Wifi didn't work at all when we were out on the terrace, but worked fine once inside.
The property is pretty awesome. We were there without kids, but it seemed like the families that were all there were enjoying the amenities as much as we were. Free valet parking was great! The beach wasn't too crowded on any given day that we were out there. We used the pools, and really liked the environment around the "quiet pool", of course.
There is only one full-service restaurant on site, called "Duke's". Food was delicious and service was delightful. Servers and bartenders were all very friendly and accommodating.
The gym in our building was well-appointed. But we also got a lot of exercise walking the beach path to Whaler's Village, and around to various lunch/dinner spots around Kaanapali. When we didn't walk, we were able to catch a cab. Buses are also available. There are loads of ways to get around town, if you haven't rented a car.
I would definitely recommend Honua Kai as a property, and Konea 705 as a rental unit. We'll be back!
Our stay in Konea 705 was one of our best VRBO experiences to date! We are seasoned travelers, so that's saying a lot. As described in other reviews, the unit is furnished with everything you would need for your stay, but what really impressed us was the quality of everything in the unit. First rate! The beds were super comfortable, the linens and towels were really nice, the bathrooms (both) were huge and everything was very clean. Upon our arrival, we were met by Sarah, a representative of Maui Westside Properties. She showed us the operation of everything in the unit and answered any questions we had. She was super sweet! We also really enjoyed the beautiful property of the Honua Kai. There were lots of pools for the kids and the staff working out of Duke's and the pool services hut were very accommodating with great customer service. We cooked in our unit quite a bit (dinner on the lanai was a must) but did venture out to several restaurants that were walking distance from the resort. The kids loved Slappy Cakes for breakfast and our favorite restaurant for dinner was Java Jazz Cafe. We would highly recommend Konea 705 & Maui Westside Properties.
Konea #705 is a terrific unit in every way, as was the service of Maui Westside Properties. Kalea, Barb, and Walt took care of everything and were very responsive. The unit is first class and the view is outstanding. The property has very good amenities, including Dukes, where we had two excellent meals. The location is perfect, close to the beach and in an area that is much less congested than farther south on the beach. Nice beach walking path. The unit is very clean and has everything that you need, including good beach toys. The concierge was very helpful in arranging excursions for us. I would highly recommend this unit and Westside Properties.
Stayed the week of Feb 13th 2016
We planned this trip with our two adult sons as our last family trip together. We could not have asked for a more perfect location. The view from the balcony was fantastic, perfect for whale watching and sunsets. The service from the management company was exquisite, thanks Walt, Barb and Kalea!
We liked it so much we extended our stay another night!
The resort is great for families with many young families there, but also as many quiet spots for us more "seasoned" travellers. Easy access to everything including surfing, snorkeling, hiking and the great restaurants of Lahaina, allowed to make the most of our time with our 28 and 23 year old sons.
Staying at this condo with my family was an unforgettable experience. The condo was beautiful with spectacular views of the surrounding islands and offered everything one would want when on vacation. The additional pool and beach toys were great for the kids. Our expectations of a tropical relaxing vacation were met, and we would definitely book this property again!
