Kaha Lani means Heavenly Place which describes this beach front resort perfectly. It's like no other resort on Kauai. Surrounded by large grassy areas, this Bali Style Resort is breath taking. It sits behind a beautiful, undeveloped, white sand beach that is only 150 steps away from your front door. You can walk miles along this quiet beach sometimes without seeing another person. This is a perfect place to take pictures of the amazing sunrises. The resort also has a heated pool overlooking the ocean with Tiki Lights that are lit every night at sunset. There are two barbecue grills by the pool, great for cooking your meals outside. There is a tennis court. A beautiful well maintained golf course is right next door, that is reasonable priced. (Wailua Golf Course). A great bike/walking path is directly in front of the resort that leads to Lydgate Beach Park, a great place for kids to play in the protected lagoon an learn how to snorkel. They will also love the awesome playground. You can rent bikes in Kapa'a nearby or have them delivered to the condo. There is a bike rack directly behind our condo.

Kaha Lani Resort is centrally located so you are close to all the famous Kauai sights, yet you feel away from everything the moment you drive into the spacious , tropical resort. Positioned between the Wailua Golf Course and Lydgate Beach Park, the resort is very private. You aren't surrounded by other resorts fighting for a spot on the beach, yet you are a short drive from all the activities. The Wailua River is one mile North of the condo. This is were you can launch off in a kayak to visit Secret Falls or take a river cruise to the Fern Grotto. Right on the shores of the Wailua River sits the Coco Palms Resort that Elvis Presley made famous in the film Blue Hawaii. The hurricane Iniki shut the resort down in 1992, but it is still nice to drive past and imagine what it was like in 1961 when the movie was filmed. The Wailua Waterfall, also shown in the film, is a short drive up the nearby country road. It can be viewed from the road and is a great place to take photos. A few adventurous travelers even hike to the bottom of the falls and swim in the fresh water pool. Opoeka'a Falls is about 3 miles from the condo. You can view it from the road. Depending on the recent rainfall it may have one, two or even three falls coming over the side. The quaint town of Kapa'a is a few miles North of the condo. This is a great place to stroll for hours checking out the many shops and restaurants.

Kaha Lani 216 is in building 5, on the second and third floor of a three story building. 980 square feet of private space, including two lanai's. It is a quiet, very bright, end unit. There are only six units in this building. The two units connected by the wall to the right only go up two floors, so your third floor master bedroom doesn't share a wall with another unit, making it very quiet. You can view the ocean from the third floor master bedroom windows, making it a great place to watch the passing whales during winter months. It has a queen size bed. A private bathroom is also on the third floor. The second bedroom and second bathroom are on the second floor with the rest of the living areas. The second bedroom has a king bed. The living room has a queen size hide away sleeper sofa. There are two lanai's. One facing the ocean and white sand beach and another facing the mountains. There is plenty of free parking right outside the unit. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make meals, except groceries which you can purchase at Safeway a few miles North of the condo. There are three flat screen TV's, DVD players, internet and wifi. You can rent DVD's at the RedBox machine inside Safeway. The telephones come with free long distance to the mainland USA and Canada so you can keep in touch with the office and family. It is well stocked with beach items for you to enjoy. Tommy Bahama Backpack Beach Chairs, Boogie Boards, snorkel sets, umbrella, ice chest, beach towels, tennis rackets and balls. Just bring your clothes. There is a laundry facility on the grounds of Kaha Lani that takes quarters so you can pack lighter and save on airline fees.

About Marcy Parmley

This condo is privately owned my Marcy & John, who live in Bakersfield, California. It is not a time share. We use our vacation condo as often as we can get to Kauai. A ocean front condo requires lots of upkeep so we try to visit at least three times a year. We enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and exploring all Kauai has to offer. We hope to retire here full time in about 15 years.

Why Marcy Parmley chose Līhuʻe

We fell in love with Kauai on our first visit. It is our favorite Hawaiian island. We chose Kaha Lani because it is the most beautiful resort on the island. It is tucked away all by itself. There is a beautiful, undeveloped, white sand beach directly in front of the resort. Very quite, tropical setting. My husband loves to golf and the Wailua Golf Course is right next door. He can walk right over. I love walking right out to the beach in front and setting up my hammock for an afternoon of reading. A great place for a honeymoon, birthday or anniversary. Being a short walk from Lydgate Beach Park it is also a great place for families. I hope you enjoy your stay at our home.

What makes this condo unique

Centrally located on Kauai's East Coast. We can drive a short distance to the North or South Shores. Shopping and eating are close by, yet you feel miles away from everything when you drive into this resort. Right next door to a beautiful county golf course with very affordable rates. Comes fully stocked with beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel sets, ice chest, and tennis rackets. There are three BBQ's on the grounds, along with a fully stocked kitchen you can save money by eating at home. Safeway grocery store is just two miles north of the condo. Kauai also has many Farmer's Markets which you will want to shop for fresh fruit and vegetables.

We really enjoyed the ability to cook and make our own meals at home to save money. We enjoyed having the room to spread out, unlike a hotel room. We loved that this condo is right off the hiqhway, which make it easy to access different parts of the island. But it was far enough away from the highway not to hear the traffic. The two bedroom and two baths are a nice size, which we weren't expecting. The owner provided drink coolers (ice chests), beach toys, beach chairs and umbrellas. That was greatly appreciate and really helped make our trip enjoyable. I can't imagine going to the beach for a day without those items. It really shows the owners care and are thinking of their guest's comfort. This was our first family vacation. We were celebrating a graduation, anniversary and Father's day. We really enjoyed the Smith Family Luau right up the road, the Koala ziplines, snorkeling and surf lessons. We hope to return again to Kauai in the future.

Notes:
This condo is close to everything, yet away from it all. A nice centrally located base to call home. Kaha Lani is a beautiful, tropical, spacious resort right next to an undeveloped white sand beach. This unit is a quiet end unit on the second and third floor of a three story building with just six units. Kaha Lani has only 74 units spread over six spacious acres. With the beach and ocean to the east, a golf course to the south and a park to the north and west, Kaha Lani is very private and secluded. Unless they get off the highway and drive a mile most people don't even know Kaha Lani is there. It is truely a Hidden Gem that you will want to return to year after year.

Perfect location and well equipped unit

For our first visit on Kauai, we decided to stay on the eastern shore. Condo in Kaha Lani turned out to be an excellent choice. Accommodation was conveniently situated within close distance of Lihue airport, great hiking, shopping and eating places in Wailua, Kapaa and Lihue. But the best part –was the walking and biking trail running just by the resort. For the people loving Hawaii but scared of the ocean, there was Lydgate beach completely protected by stone barrier (a five-minute walk from the resort) - ideal for a morning swim (or snorkel) and watching sunrise while having the beach almost for yourself. Kaha Lani is an older resort but is meticulously maintained, quiet (all you hear is the ocean and birds) and clean. It had more homey feeling than being touristy. There is plenty of parking. Lush and well kept landscaping offers good privacy for the lodging. Our unit 216 was on the second floor. It had two cozy bedrooms (each with bathrooms), spacious living room with dining area and a good size, well equipped kitchen. Everything was clean, well organized and tastefully decorated. We had use of the beach stuff (located in the storage on the balcony) and beach towels. In the hall, there was a small selection of the books and board games. Another source of entertainment was the TV unit (with some CDs and DVDs) in the living room (but with so many things to do in Kauai, we didn’t have time to use it). From the balcony, there was a partial view of the ocean, and nice view of the mountains from the kitchen window and the sitting area by the entrance. There was no AC in the condo, but the ceiling fans and portable fans created enough breezes for pleasant indoor stay. The communication with Kauai Vacation Rentals was excellent and we got very detailed information about our stay. Even though we spend most of our vacation outdoors exploring this beautiful island, we enjoyed having this unit for our week home base. We definitely recommend renting Kaha Lani unit 216.

KahaLani 216 is perfect!

KahaLana 216 is awesome. A perfect amount of space in each bedroom and the living room is open and looks onto the beach. The bedroom upstairs faces the beach as well and it was very comforting falling asleep to the ocean every night. The condo is an ideal location and is close to alot (hiking, eating, beach down the walkway) and a very short drive to the west and north sides of the island. Marcy is a wonderful host and was very accommodating throughout the stay.

Be sure to view our attached video for a detailed view of the inside of our condo, the Kaha Lani Resort and all Kauai has to offer. Kaha Lani Resort is centrally located on Kauai's East Shore. The North shore beaches, caves, and trails are a short drive away. So is Poipu Beach to the south. The Wailua Golf Course is next door. Lydgate Beach Park is a short walk away. The Wailua River is just North of the resort as well as the quaint town of Kapa'a which has great shopping the restuarants. The airport, Costco, Walmart, Kmart, Home Depot, McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Sears, and Starbucks are a few miles away in Lihue. You are a quick drive to kayaking, rafting, deep sea fishing, and boat tours of North shore. The great thing about this resort is you are a short drive to all the activities, yet you feel away from it all the moment you drive on to the property.

Minimum stay of 4 nights at $210 per night. $1260 is the weekly rate, except 12/15 to 1/6 which is $1470. Stay 7 nights or more and the nightly rate drops from $210 to $180 (which is like getting one night fee!). That works out to $1260 for the weekly rate.(7 nights x $180= $1260). Rent 4 weeks or more (28 days or more) and the nightly rate drops to $160, so four weeks is $4480. 30 nights (one month) is $4800. Gaps of 7 nights or less of availability can be rented for $150 per night within 30 days of vacancy. The $150 cleaning fee covers the cost of cleaning the condo after your stay so it's ready for the next guest. There is no housekeeping service during your stay. A mid stay cleaning can be purchased for an additional $150. Stays of 21 days or more require a mid stay cleaning at $150. $200 refundable deposit will be mailed to you 14 days after you check out, assuming there is no damage to the condo or it's contents. All payments are made to my on island property management company. You can pay by mailing them a check or with a credit card over the phone. VRBO and HomeAway do not collect for me, they will only collect their "Book Now" service fee even though the receipt they send you has a different amount on it. My on island property management company will contact you for the remaining amount due. Disregard any reminder notices from VRBO or HomeAway regarding your payment, they don't collect for me so they won't know if you have paid or not. Those reminder notices are emailed automatically from VRBO and HomeAway. If you would like the reminder notices to stop you can contact me when you have made your final payment to my on island property management company and I will mark the reservation "Paid" with VRBO.

You are renting from our on island property management company, not the resort on the property. Therefore the key needs to be returned to the property management company when you check out, it can not be dropped off at the resort on the property.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
