About Marie and Lorenzo

I moved from chaotic Moscow City to a peaceful Medieval town in Tuscany a few years ago. It became my second home and the place I would like to come back to again and again after traveling all around the world. This little village is so charming and genuine that I fell in love with it at first sight.

Marie and Lorenzo purchased this house in 2008

Why Marie and Lorenzo chose Valdarno Inferiore

Among all the towns around Pisa this was the most genuine and full of history. Close to railway stations and airports, but still very quiet and surrounded by incredibly beautiful landscapes. It's close to mountains as well as to the sea. It's a strategically ideally located property if you want to get easily to Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Livorno, Siena, San Gimignano or Volterra. It will take less than an hour to drive to Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi beaches.

What makes this house unique

We are lucky to be helped by our friends Lorenzo and Marie (seen in the photo) who will be dealing with your booking enquiries and will meet you at the property. They live nearby and know the area really well, so you can rely on them with anything you may need to know about this region.

Beautiful, well kept property

  • 5 of 5

This is a very well kept, clean and well equipped property with everything you will need for a wonderful stay. Marie and Lorenzo gave a very personal touch to our experience, sharing their local knowledge and making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Marie gave us a short tour of the village when we arrived, suggested places to visit, and even made dinner reservations for us. The house is well located for travel throughout the area. It was a pleasure to be part of village life for the time we spent here. Hopefully we will be able to come back again soon!

Loved the apartment in Vicopisano! The apartment was well furnished and comfortable. It was in a great location to visit the sights of northern Tuscany. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

Excellent stay - beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our week stay here. Bedrooms, baths and common area were large and inviting, patios were super (although rain kept us off these part of the time). Excellent WiFi, nice set of tour books and maps, excellent instructions from property managers (Thanks Marie for all your efforts getting the payments worked out with Yapstone - not your fault, but dealing with Yapstone was a nightmare). Don't miss the Vicopisano Tower tour - it was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had other VRBO stays in Sicily and Firenze, and this property was by far the best.

Hidden Gem is Vicopasano

  • 5 of 5

Tuscany and Casa Due Torre was our first stop on our 15 day trip to Italy. He happened to go in - what I am sure will be known as the great heat wave of 2015. The average daily temperature was around 38 degrees C or 100 degrees F. Nevertheless, this is a great property. There is a great ceiling fan in the living room on the first floor and in the master bedroom. (having one installed in the second bedroom would make this perfect). The house itself is darling. The kitchen is a good size, (Thanks Marie and Lorenzo for the welcome package - YUM!) with a dishwasher, stove and all the amenities you need. The 2 bedrooms are large and if you leave both sets of doors open in the evening you get a lovely cross-breeze that keeps the upstairs cool in the evening. Regulating the water temperature in the shower proved to be a little challenging for me - but we found this phenomenon all over Italy so it is not a fault to the property - only a fact. The location is perfect - about 30 minutes to Pisa, Lucca, 60 minutes to Florence, Volterra (my personal favorite) and SanGiminano. You WILL need a car! Marie and Lorenzo are the caretakers or the property and are AWESOME! They met us with smiles and showed us up to the property - Thanks for carrying that heavy bag Lorenzo! They set up amazing excursions for us - Olive Oil Tasting, Wine and Cheese Tasting, A Tour of the Fortress, and they introduced us to other travelers in the village and now we have some new friends for life. The guidebook contains a plethora of information - MY TIP- eat at the Grotto in Buti - Wonderful food - Warm People - Great Atmosphere on the Patio - and the very best Panacotta with Strawberries I have ever eaten! Just down the street, under the arch and around the corner (5 minute walk) there is a lovely little Wine Bar (Enoteca) - Serena is the owner and it is a great place to go for Coffee in the morning and a little bite of breakfast (to die for pastries ). In the evenings we would gather there with some of the local folks and it was great fun. The Prosecco Beer and Sambuca - at 'aperitif time - along with great snacks kept us coming back night after night. If we go back to Tuscany, we would stay here again - except this time it would be in the Fall!

Wonderful location and excellent hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Vicopisano for a week and had a wonderful time exploring the area. Highlights include spending time in the village of Vicopisano with a special guided tour of the Castle tower, and the guided tour of Pisa (arranged by Marie) with the tour guide David. We would recommend this apartment and location.

After a delayed and long trip , we had a very warm welcome from Marie and Lorenzo , the chilled bottle of Prosecco was very much appreciated. The house and the location where perfect. Vicopisano is a beautiful small village. Booking us in restaurants ,and day trip recommendations where excellent.
