2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin with hottub (sleeps 6)
Camp Neal is your home away from home. Our renters return over and over again, treating this cabin as their own. It was not originally set up as a rental, so it doesn't feel like one. It is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin built in 2006, with the original foundation and fireplace from 1926!! It has a modern feel with a rustic edge...and has all the comforts of home...ipod/iphone docks for music, flat screen with DirecTv PREMIUM and NFL ticket, Xbox with games, books and plenty of DVDs. Under the deck is a great outdoor hot tub. There are sleds with a hilly open lot next door! The cabin sleeps 6 with a queen bed in the master, a twin and a set of bunk beds in the second bedroom. The couch folds to a full size bed as well. The dishes, appliances and linens are all nice...much unlike other rentals. Make Camp Neal your home away from home near the slopes, the lake and the Big Bear Village!

About Kelly Neal
We live in Riverside, CA and love the beach and the mountains. We have two kids under age ten, four dogs, three cats and lots of fish! We love skiing at Snow Summit and boating on the lake in summer. We had our cabin for a few years before we started renting to friends and family. We are now expanding to a new VRBO family!
Kelly Neal purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Kelly Neal chose Big Bear Lake
Growing up in Orange County we have been coming up to Big Bear Lake to ski and hike our whole lives. We just love it in every season. Most SoCalians think big bear lake in winter only, but we almost prefer it in spring, summer and fall!!! The lake is great in the off-winter months and every weekend in summer has some sort of party or festival going!
What makes this Cabin unique
We loved that Camp Neal was new construction when we bought in 2006. Most of the other homes were very old. This one was brand new, with the exception of the fireplace which was from the original 1926 cabin. That fireplace gives it the ambiance that is just what everyone wants in a Big Bear cabin. It really is incredible. Plus, we love how we converted the under the deck area into a Zen Den where the hottub is. We have enclosed it with outdoor blinds for privacy.

Everything we wanted!
The property was clean and relaxing. The weather was perfect. The amenities like the hot tub and the snow toys made our stay even more memorable. The owner Kelly was very easy to get ahold of and got back to us quickly to answer any questions. Our family, including our two young kids and our dog, had an absolutely ideal experience and are already looking forward to the next one. Thanks Neal family!
CampNeal was great. Everything we needed for a few days of skiing for our family of 4.
A great place for our family trip. Comfortable and clean. Hot tub was a plus after a long day on the slopes. There was even a sled and, after a bit of snow on the last night, our boys did a little sledding as we were loading up the car in the morning. Our only suggestion would be to provide towels. Not a big deal, but one more thing to pack and unpack. Owner was responsive and easy to communicate with. Thanks for a great stay, Kelly.
Cozy cabin near big bear lake!
We went up for a quiet New Years to celebrate as a family and play in the snow.... but there was no snow.... and it was 65*!! If there had been, this cabin would be perfect! The lot next door is perfect for sledding, there are snow sleds and toys to use, and a nice jacuzzi to warm up in afterwards! We loved being able to watch all the bowl games and sunday ticket for NFL games too. The doggie was made to feel welcome and loved the short walk to the lake. We will try to come back when the snow finally falls!!!
Very cozy, clean and humble abode. Would gladly revisit or recommend to friends.
This cabin had all the amenities you could ask for, including board games, Netflix, and DVDs. Had a fantastic relaxing experience.
Great rental for romantic weekend
Clean, comfortable, and cozy!
Too dark, otherwise OK
We were a bit disappointed with this rental. It was our first family trip with our twin toddlers and I did a ton of research beforehand to find a place that was somewhat baby friendly, which this place seemed to be. But when we got there it was one problem after another. The baby gate at the top of the stairs was broken! Had to try to block them other ways which was a hassle. The high chair, which is a hook-on style, was so filthy we couldn't use it until we cleaned it a bit. It's quite annoying to have to pay a $100 cleaning fee when the place isn't that clean. Found a tumbler in the jacuzzi, dead bugs, recycling hadn't been taken out. WiFi was spotty, had to reset the router multiple times. And it was so dark in there, which was a bummer, since the weather was so sunny and gorgeous.
However, we did love the deck and played out there a lot, to get our sunshine and fresh air. Bathroom was quite nice, had a great bath with my girls. Had some charming elements. Beds were pretty comfy. Kids room with bunkbed is adorable and had lots of cute dolls. Jacuzzi was awesome (aside from tumbler). Host was nice and responsive. We had a nice time but as an exhausted twin mom I really would have liked a smoother experience.
I am sorry you didn't have a great stay. You had not mentioned at all any time in our correspondence about the cabin not being clean. The little baby gate and hook on baby high chair aren't used often so the cleaning staff doesn't take them out to check them. This is the first I have heard of the cabin not being clean otherwise. Had I known there was any issue with cabin (bugs) or hot tub (tumbler) cleanliness I would have sent someone right away but it was not mentioned. I went to extra effort to make sure you got NFL ticket on the firestick, and you had said the firestick was working the whole time (meaning the wifi was fine) but couldn't log on from a personal device. I was just there today and logged on using two personal devices without trouble, using the existing password. As I said before, I think you mis-typed the password. I kept the wifi on the firetv for 4 hours today without a glitch. Perhaps spectrum had an issue that weekend. Finally, I am not sure about the cabin being 'dark'. There are windows in all the rooms. Perhaps it was cloudy? There are 5 decent sized windows in what is really a three room house. When the blinds are tilted open and the shade in the kids room up, it is quite bright. The patio in front is covered to provide shade and protection from rain so I suppose that reduces light but I have never noticed that before.
I have removed the gate as it was just an extra anyways (most decks are not baby proof) and brought the high hair home so from now on people can just bring their own if needed. The cleaning fee, at 95$, is 20% below average for big bear. Again, I am sorry you didn't have a smooth experience.
Our Charming Camp Neal is a 5 minute walk to the lake shore and a 3 minute drive to the Village in Big Bear Lake. We are about 5 minutes to Snow Summit Ski/Snowboard resort and a few minutes farther to Bear Mountain. Holloway's Marina on Metcalf bay (which has a playground and boat/jetski rental) is a short 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk from the cabin.
