Your hosts have lived on the North Shore for many years. They are both active members of the North Shore community and can provide access to resources and hidden treasures that are simply unavailable to regular tourists. Whether you want to charge the winter surf at Ho'okipa, meander through the Upcountry meadows, explore the idyllic waterfalls of East Maui or indulge your tropical golfing fantasies, your hosts will ensure you have the local know-how to get the most out of your trip.
Paia is the perfect starting place for day trips around the island. A car is necessary if you plan on sightseeing. We do have a bus that takes you to locations around the island but you will miss some of the islands most popular attractions. The Maui Bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the property.
If you don't see availability or need a larger place, we have a cottage next door, VRBO/473337.

My husband and I grew up in the islands, raised 3 beautiful daughters and now have 6 grandsons. Prior to moving to Maui in 1999, we lived in Kailua on Oahu and then spent 9 years in Waimea on the Big Island. The North Shore of Maui provides all the activities we enjoy from golf and tennis to biking and walking the beach. We have embraced Maui's slow pace and laid back lifestyle. We love to travel and have stayed in many private vacation rentals so know the importance of providing a comfortable and friendly environment. My husband and I retired recently from our contracting and real estate careers and now put our energy into managing and maintaining our vacation rental business.
Jacque Delaunay purchased this cottage in 2001
Historic Paia Town has become one of maui's most popular attractions. It is situated on the edge of Paia Bay and provides a location and vibe not found in any other town in Maui. Our property provides the perfect location to walk to the beach and all the wonderful restaurants and boutiques. This is all about location, location, location!
We bought our property and developed it into 3 plantation style cottages, in keeping with the architectural design of the town and era. 2 of the cottages are in a fenced and gated setting and provide a very 'island vibe' that visitors will enjoy as much as we do. It is very laid back and yet the island and coastal decors of the cottages provide comfort and beauty.
We arrived late at night but Jacque made sure light was left on which made entry a lot easier. This is a great location for staying in Paia,2 minute walk to downtown and shops, less than ten minutes to turtle beach
And mamas fish house with many beaches in this area,we loved baby beach to swim but ho'okipa was amazing to take a lunch and watch the surfers!Thank you again we will be back😍
Wonderful stay at the cottage. Very well equipped with anything one might need. Great location close to grocery store, restaurants and beach access. Everything from booking to checking in and out was an extremely smooth and easy process. Highly recommend this accommodation :) thanks again!!
This cottage was even better than indicated in the pictures! It is so clean and fresh - I could definitely live there.
The kitchen is spacious, clean and modern, and well equipped with kitchenware that you don't feel the need to scrub before using!
Having a few pantry items left behind by the owners/previous guests was appreciated (eg coffee machine filters, cooking oil, pepper...). The fridge was large and the owner kindly left pre-chilled filtered water in there for us. The esky cooler and ice pack came in handy for storing our picnic lunch on our drive down the "Road to Hana".
We had a rental car and found Pa'ia a great base for exploring the whole island: "Road to Hana" and Twin Falls; Maui Ocean Centre; Old Lahaina Luau; the Kahekili Highway (NOT for the faint-hearted driver!); and let's not forget the honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles resting at Ho'okipa beach just next to Pa'ia!).
Our 23-month-old daughter loved playing in the sand with the beach toys generously left in the cottage too.
Jacque was extremely easy to deal with and made the booking and transaction process quick and smooth.
My only negative comment is that I didn't manage to bump into Owen Wilson in the cute Pa'ia Main Street during my stay!!

Great place loved the shower. Easy access to the beach with a key once we figured out how to get out. Clean with updated appliances. Could use some new frying pans ( very warped) Guests were respectful and quiet while we were there. Would stay there again. Very close to trails around Kapalua and our favorite restaurant The Sea House.
Very spacious, organized, and clean. House items were fresh and well cared for. The owners were reachable and responded to questions quickly. We felt safe and had great access to Paia and other local sites. Loved the king size bed. It's a gem.
