We can't say thank you enough, but we'd love to try! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! x1,000,000!
You have the most beautiful house and we are the luckiest for you opening it to us. We would like to reserve you house for next year at the same time. No really, we'd love to do this again!
It was absolutely fantastic staying at this VRBO. We had 6 cars and all of them fit perfectly in the drive way. The house was large and cozy for all of us, and beds were so comfortable! Perfect location to all things Sonoma/Napa and even the stores are so close by that you don't have to pre-plan much. We picked up couple Duraflames for the fire place, and drank some hot cocoa & bourbon by the fire. We will definitely stay there in the future again!
We rented this home for 8 adults and my 5 year old grandson for a wedding weekend. It was centrally located to Sonoma yet on a quiet street. Clean, spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. Easy to access with wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces. Everyone had their own rooms with plenty of lovely bathrooms. We could spend time together to eat and relax or find a quiet spot for some alone time. The redwood trees in the backyard were spectacular. The owner, Clem, always responding quickly to all of our communications. Loved it!
Let me start by saying that I don’t ordinarily write negative reviews, but I felt it was my duty to share our experience. My husband and I stayed in this home with one other couple in October 2016. We chose this home due to its location in Sonoma and based on the many positive reviews. Before diving into the problems, let me start with the positives:
Big house with plenty of room
Large outdoor area
The owner seems willing to fix the items that need to be addressed
We arrived at about 10:30 pm, and had difficulty opening the door using the instructions left by the owner. After many attempts to unlock the door using the code, we finally got in. The very first thing we saw when we opened the door was the large stain on the carpet by the front door. It was approximately 18” wide and 24” long. I don’t know what it was, but it was blackish gray on a cream colored carpet. It was a horrible first impression, and things didn’t get better from there. There were stains in several other places on the downstairs carpet.
Mold in the downstairs shower
Weird doll torn apart with its innards on the cabinet shelves
Nonworking lights in many places in the house
Bathroom rugs were old and matted
Stain on one of the towels that appeared to be old blood or rust (gross)
No hot water in the master shower
The outside cushions on the beautiful set featured on the picture were stained all over
After walking around the house when we arrived on the first night, we were torn about whether to leave and go to a hotel, call the owner, or just stay there since we were only going to be there for two nights and wouldn’t be spending a lot of time there. We were unsure about the refund process through VRBO in situations like this and we were very tired, so we decided that if the sheets on the beds were clean, we would stay. The sheets were clean, so we stayed for both nights.
After spending the same amount as we would have spent for two 4 star hotel rooms, we expected to have accommodations equivalent to those of a 4 star hotel, and we didn’t want to spend any time or effort on complaining about the problems to the owner. Instead, we were in the equivalent to a 1 star hotel. Clem seemed genuinely interested in the issues I raised, and hopefully he meant it and will address them before the next group stays there.
Had a lovely time in this house. Perfect getaway with a group of friends
We loved our stay at Clem’s house! Several of our extended family stayed there with us as we were in Sonoma that weekend to celebrate our son’s wedding. Everyone was very comfortable and the house was big and roomy enough for us all. My husband and I stayed in the master suite and we felt like royalty there. The bride and bridesmaids used the master suite to get ready for the big event. They loved the roominess and the large areas -- and plenty of mirrors -- for dressing and for last-minute touches to hair and makeup. We have some remarkable photos of the bride standing by the window shutters, with the light streaming through as her mother adjusts her dress. So beautiful! Thank you again, Clem, for making your wonderful house available to us.
We visited Sonoma for a friends wedding and a group stayed in the house. It is enormous and the pictures don't do it justice! Plenty of space for all with a great backyard and firepit. Close to some of the best spots in Sonoma. We had a great time.
Enjoy Sonoma's rustic surroundings amidst the backdrop of a dynamic wine region that is home to award winning wineries, stately redwoods, magnificent coastlines, Infineon raceway, and plenty of shopping. Spend the day hiking, kayaking, biking or wine tasting at boutique wineries off the beaten path. Whatever you choose, Sonoma is a gem.
