The cabins are about 50 feet apart which is perfect for separate families or extra privacy. Cabins have Wi-Fi and satellite TV so you can stay connected- if you want to. Property is set on a quiet dead end street with almost one flat acre. There are lots of pine trees and fresh air. On site is also a horse shoe pit and an outdoor fire pit. National forest is behind the cabin (and at the end of the road) so there is plenty of room for kids to safely wander in the area. The cabin is on a cul de sac so there are few cars or dust. Lots of places to ride bikes, walk, relax and enjoy. A bike and/or ATV trail starts about 100 yards from the property.

FOR WINTER RESERVATIONS ONLY: Please note that the guest cabin is closed in the winter so the maximum capacity for the main cabin is 8-10 people. There is limited parking due to snow for 1-2 cars and up to 4 snowmobiles. Trailers must be parked in the plowed lot 1/4 mile away.

About David Larson

Our family has been traveling fishing and hiking this area for many years. We had the opportunity to purchase this cabin and are pleased to share it with others when we are not there.

David Larson purchased this cabin in 2012

Why David Larson chose Island Park

Location, location, location. This cabin is close to everything but not too close! Easy access to the store or restaurant or Highway 20 but still quietly tucked away from the cars and bustle. No noise, no cars, no dust. The cabin is very easy to find- including at night. Unlike some other cabins that are stacked on top of each other, there is plenty of space here especially with 100s of acres of forest in the back and all around.

What makes this cabin unique

The two cabin set up is nice for teens or multiple familes or couples. You can be all together without being altogether all the time. :-)

Great property plenty of room.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time visiting this property. It had everything you could want. Kitchen was full of pots/pans, plates, utensils and anything else you might need to cook. There was a full sized wash and dryer to do laundry if needed. There is cable and internet, the wifi is a little slow but we didn't go there to sit and use the internet all day, good enough to check emails and social media. It is almost at the end of the street and we were never bothered by noise at all. The end of the street goes into some trails so you can walk, bike or use off road vehicles. We used this as our base of operations for our weeklong visit to Yellowstone national park. It is about a 30 drive, so close enough that it is not a hassle to get there. There are plenty of things to do in Island Park as well, if you are not planning to go to Yellowstone. There were 15 of us, 4 adults, 4 teens and 7 little kids. When we were at the cabin the little kids had a great time playing in the woods and make smores around the fire pit, they is even fire wood there to use. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this place to anyone one.

This home was a great spot to call home during our family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the cabin! It worked so well for 12 people (8 adults and 4 small kids). Everyone had their own space but the living room/kitchen was big enough for us to all visit together. The yard and surrounding area was fantanstic. This was the perfect place for our family reunion.

Would Return Here In A Heartbeat

  • 5 of 5

We have a lot of kids. There were enough beds between the two cabins for everybody. It may be a bit far from a lot of places, which is part of the appeal but in a way it is close enough to Yellowstone to keep going there every day of your stay, but also close to other things to as well.

  • 5 of 5

The big springs cabin worked great for us. We had 7 adults and 5 children (18mos up to 6). Plenty of room for sleeping and lots of room for outdoor play! Great location quiet and secluded! We would definitely stay here again!
